Liam's POV:
Throwing her out, I shut the door. How dare she brainwash my son against me. I thought she would be a little better than her cunning sister but she proved me wrong. There is no way I'm going to let her destroy my life.
Oliver is only my baby and if she can not take care of him then she has no right to invade my place and my baby's life. I can hire a better babysitter for him.
Rubbing my face, I walked to the couch and sprawled, palming my face. I heard Oliver crying. His sobs were echoing in the entire lounge. I fisted my hands and got up, moving in the direction of Oliver.
He was in the kitchen. I went to carry him but when I got there, I saw Adriana looking inside through the window and Oliver was crying looking at her. I strolled there and shut the window, carrying Oliver in my arms.
"Mama!" He sobbed, holding my face in his palms.
Looking at his face was not less than a torture for me. His small eyes were damped with tears, his button like the nose was red and his lips were quivering as he was hiccuping now.
"Shhh...your daddy is here, Oliver. You don't need anyone else. I'm here to take care of you, my son." I shushed him, bringing him close to my chest and hugging him tightly.
"Ma-ma. Mama."
This was the only word that came out of his mouth. He was trying to get down from my arms. I put him down and he crawled in the direction of the door. I sighed and put my hands on my hips, looking at him.
"Moma!" He pointed at the door and I shook my head.
"She is not your mother," I said but he kept chanting mama and banged on the door.
"Nancy!" I called her and She came running and looked at me with terrified eyes.
"Take him to the room," I asked her and she nodded her head, squatting in front of Oliver, carrying him up in her arms.
Oliver struggled, trying to get himself free of her hold. He was slapping her but she grasped his hands gently and took him inside in his room.
I rubbed my temples with my finger and thumb as a sharp pain erupted in my head. I leaned against the wall and inhaled deeply. The silence embraced me and I was pushed back to the memories of the past.
Her smiles, her laughs, her beautiful innocent eyes. Everything began to display on the screen of my mind. Life was something extraordinarily beautiful with her. Everything was so serene and satisfactory.
But now life is worse. The beauty is no more there. Everything seems faded. Life has no colors. The heart is darkened with hatred. And my entire soul is entangled with the memories which are tightening their grip around me, suffocating me.
I want this to end. I want to forget about this. It is killing me slowly. It is hunting me. I want to run away. I want to die.
___________
Liam slipped down on the floor, palming his face. He still couldn't absorb the fact that Serena cheated on him and ran away. It is not easy for him after how she gave himself to her.
He heard a loud scream and raised his head up. The sound was coming from outside. He got up and opened the door. He saw a man arguing with the bodyguard at the gate. When he scrutinized, he realized that it was Antonio.
His blood began to boil as the memories of him dating with his current wife Adriana floated in his mind. He looked at the guard and shook his head in denial, ordering him to keep Antonio away from entering his mansion. Antonio fisted his hands and gave Liam a threatening glare before hopping in his car and driving away.
Liam turned around to go inside when his eyes landed on a subconscious figure, lying lifeless by the window. Her face looked white and lips purple. He inhaled a sharp breath and cursed under his breath.
Adriana's POV:
Someone was patting my cheeks with soft hands. So soft that I wanted to be caressed by them until sleep consumes me again. I smiled when I felt a ticklish wet thing on my nose.
To see what was on me, I opened my eyes. Oliver's innocent, smiling face came in my view. He was patting my cheeks and kissing my nose. His eyes grew big when he saw me opening my eyes.
He slapped me a few times in joy making me giggle. Little man was angry at me.
"Oley! Oley!" I said while laughing at him and he moved his belly on my stomach as if dancing. It made me laugh more. His hands were up in the air and feet hitting my waist.
This joyous moment was ruined by some noises, rough fake cough of some beastly human.
I looked at my side. Liam was glaring me while his hands were dug in his pocket. He was burning me with his intensive stares. He came forward and tried to pick Oliver in his arms.
I caught his wrist. He was warm even in the blood-freezing cold. His eyes shifted to my eyes from my wrist. I glared him back.
Say no to innocence which gives strength to beasts to ruin us.
"Oliver will play with mommy," I said, smiling while looking at Oliver who clapped nodding his head.
"Mommy!" He beamed.
The expression on Liam's face was worth seeing. He looked dumbfounded plus angry plus shocked plus helpless plus irritated. All emotions gathered to form a silly look on his chiseled face.
"But you are going from here." He said, keeping his stares full of anger. "The driver is waiting for you outside."
"I don't remember going anywhere today." I raised my eyebrow, pretending.
He gave me a look saying He-will-throw-me-out-of-his-house. I replied to this by my look saying I-Dare-you!
His jaw twitched as if I pressed the button of a time bomb and he is now gonna explode within a few seconds. I looked back at my Oliver, kissing his little hands. His father couldn't beat this and storm out of the room.
Yeah, Man! Go and explode away from here!
I looked at the clock and then I realized, I was blacked out for two hours. That's the reason I'm feeling fresh and full of energy. I was covered by the many layers of warm clothes.
Wait! Where are the clothes that I was wearing earlier? Who changed my attire?
"Oley! Who made mama wear this?" I asked him as no one was there to reply to me. I didn't expect him to answer but he surprised me when he named the person.
"Dada!" He said, biting his own foot toe.
I froze there. It wasn't winter but his answer. Was he saying the truth? He is just a child, Adrianna.
"Say, No, please." I again turned to him.
"No." He said as per my request.
Yeah, he was just saying that. He didn't mean it. He didn't even understand what I was asking him. Did he? He is one and a half years old and He understands what I say to him. Ugh!
Let's just ignore it.
I looked at the little man who was now yawning. His eyes looked sleepy and he crawled in my lap, brushing his nose against my chest.
"Sleep, baby, sleep," I whispered, patting his head.
I made him sleep and then strolled out of the room.
I saw him leaning on the wall, looking outside the glass window. His arms were crossed over his chest and he looked sad? But why?
I witnessed him taking in a deep breath and then his head hung low. He pinched the bridge of his nose and then-
A tear left his eye.
I felt all the gloominess of nights in his eyes. He was too sad and I wanted to console him. He was broken and I felt a need to mend him. He was crying and I wanted to make him smile.
My feet took me towards him and I placed my hand on his shoulder. He stiffened but wiped his tear instantly. He turned around and I saw how his sadness merged into anger.
He narrowed his eyes but I was looking for the pain, that hurts him, to take it away from his eyes, and free him because I can absorb all pain in me but can't see anyone suffering.
His sadness aches my heart, clenching it.
"Liam," I whispered his name, grabbing his face.
Her eyes softened, he turned innocent. His eyes looked as pure as Oliver's. He was looking for a savior. He was looking for someone to stay with him.
"Don't be sad," I told him and he leaned into my touch. "I'm here."
His eyes snapped open. There wasn't any emotion now. He buried them all of sudden. He became cold-hearted again, masking his caring side.
He yanked my hands away, breaking the illusive trance we were wandering in.
"Smart move." He hissed, clenching his teeth.
Due to his immense height, he was towering above me. I crease my eyebrows to decipher the meaning of his words. He sensed it because then he elaborated.
"But not smart enough to make fool out of me." He gripped my arm, pulling me towards him. "Do you really think you can stay here by doing this act? Huh?"
Damn you, Liam! I can't believe my heart has chosen a stupid like you!
Here I was just trying to help him out and he thinks it was an act of mine. I don't need to act. I am his wife & Oliver's mommy and I will be living here though he wants it or not.
"Why would I do that?" I masked my expression that was showing off the pain that his words caused and wore a straight look on my face.
"Because you want to make your place here in my home." He replied, narrowing his eyes.
I pushed him away and stood at a safe distance from him, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Nobody can send me out of this home," I said, straightly. He raised his eyebrow.
"Except me." He retorts.
"Wow! You have such a funny misunderstanding." I provided him, stretching my lips in a tight, mocking smile.
"Excuse me?" His voice turned deep and it was scaring me a bit but I lifted my nose up trying to look unaffected.
"You are excused," I replied, getting on his nerves.
"Pack your things and get out." He spat, his eyes turning red.
"No thanks. I'm fine here." I said and turned because I was feeling an urge to laugh at his surprised face.
"Adrianna!" He shouted and I really felt a shiver running down my spine but I had to take it lightly. I have to do this for Oliver.
And for Liam too.
"Yes, Liam," I replied batting my eyelashes at him.
"Get out from my home I said!" He fumed.
"No," I said and he fisted his hands.
He took fast menacing steps towards me and I galloped from there, running to my room where my little Oliver was sleeping. I heard Liam shouting my name and the way he was screaming, it almost stopped my heart in fear.
I jumped on the bed and carried Oliver in my arm and waited for the storm which I just formed with my own stupid humorless comments.
