Quincy's POV
I was late for my class the next morning. Blame it on the weird alpha. How can a wolf claim a mate when there is no bond between the two? And my whole body, my whole being was aching, it was hurting, I was hurting, this pain is something one can not explain. Even Willow didn't understand what was happening. But one thing is we both agreed upon, it really hurts. We're deeply hurt when alpha Caleb touched us last night. And we're sure that is not a bond. It's something else.
Even though I barely slept last night, I forced myself to get out of bed and go to school. I'm sure they all wanted to ask me about what happened last night as I ignored all their text messages and calls.
When I arrived at school, everyone was eyeing me. Why wouldn't they? Their schoolmate was dragged away by their alpha last night. They were wondering why?
And so are my friends.
"Icy!" screamed Heather, when she saw me. She practically ran towards me and we both landed on the concrete road.
"Ouch!" I screamed too. I landed on my ass.
"Icy, how are you?" She looked at me, "did he hurt you?" She held my shoulder, "what did he do to you?"
"Alright, one question at a time," I said as I slowly sat up. Our friends walked towards us.
Garret lifted his mate off the ground. While Wayne offers his hand to me, which I gladly take. He then pulls me up. I brush the dirt off my clothes.
"What happened to you last night?" Alicia asked after I finally composed myself.
I looked at their faces. They are waiting for my explanation.
"Nothing happened guys!" I told them. "There's just confusion on alpha Caleb's part." I shrugged my shoulders.
They all eyed me. They are all curious. Really, who wouldn't be? All the pack members witness the alpha dragging a she-wolf with him towards the forest and you expect that nothing has happened?! Really?!
"What do you mean? 'Nothing happened'." It was Emily, the most curious one of all of them. "We need details, girl!" Now she's excited.
Wayne, who was at my back, said, " Yeah! Why did he drag you to the forest?" He moved in front of me. "Wait, don't tell us?" His eyes grew wide, "Is he your mate?"
They all looked at me sternly. Waiting for me to confirm Wayne's inquiry as to what happened last night.
"No! Of course not!" I corrected him. "We are not mates," I said to them. "Well, at least that's what I know." I fixed my bag on my shoulder.
"What do you mean?" Again the ever-curious Emily.
"Well," I started, should I tell them or not? "He seemed," well I need their opinion on this one too, so I better tell them. "He 'claimed'," I emphasized the word, "that he is my mate, and I was his."
I think my eardrums break with their combined screaming. I've covered both my ears with my hands.
"Hey!" I shouted at them. "Don't be so loud!!"
Alicia suddenly embraced me, " Oh my god! Oh my god!" She literally jumped while holding me in her embrace. "The next luna in our pack is our friend."
"Atta girl!" Said Wayne, "who would have thought you were to be the future luna of the pack!"
"No, no, you're wrong," I said. Heather comes next to me and holds my hand.
"Icy," she called my nickname. I smiled at her. I reassured her by putting a smile on my face.
"I am fine." I said and touched her cheek "really, I am. You don't need to worry, okay?" I squeezed her hand.
Garret, who's behind Heather, says, "what do you mean? Aren't you alpha Caleb's mate?" He puts his hand on his mate's shoulder and pulled her to him.
I let go of Heather's hand and raised my eyebrows to him. Possessive much I say to my self. I fixed my bag on my shoulder and looked at them. "I am not alpha Caleb's mate," I told them again.
"How could that be?" It was Alicia.
"That's right?! How could you not be his mate?" This time, it's Emily. "We saw how he pulled you out of the party and dragged you towards the forest." She said, looking at everyone.
"And you didn't even return afterward." Wayne interjected, "We all thought that you'd been marked and mated."
"What really happened?" Alicia asked curiously.
I took a breath and then, "as I've said, he claimed," I paused, "alpha Caleb claimed, I am his mate." I raised my hand to stop them from interrupting me. "But I didn't recognize him as my mate."
"What do you mean? You rejected him?" Emily asked me.
"No, that's not what I mean," I answered, "It's just that, my wolf and I don't feel any bond towards him."
"You don't feel the pull of the mate bond," Heather said. "Don't you feel anything? Smell anything?"
"No I don't, and that's what confuses me. He also asks me why I didn't feel the bond." I tucked my hair that was blown by the wind to my ear. "And it was not alpha Caleb that's claiming me as his mate."
"Alpha Caleb is not the one claiming you?" Heather's question.
"Yes," I turned to Heather, "it was his wolf."
Everyone was surprised.

Caleb's POV
"What time will you be arriving?" I asked my girl, Regina, over the phone. I was sitting on my chair inside the alpha's office. I was doing some paperwork when she called, telling me that she would now be boarding a plane.
"Well," she starts on the other hand, "my flight is scheduled to take off around two in the afternoon, I think, maybe around midnight."
I smiled, "got it," I said, it's been what, three weeks, almost a month since I last saw her. "I'll pick you up at the airport tomorrow then" thank the goddess my girl had arrived, finally. "I've missed you, babe," I whispered to her over the phone.
"I've missed you too, honey" she replied, "can't wait to see you again."
"Me too," I smiled to myself, "I've missed us being together. But you will be here now."
Someone knocks on the door, my beta Leon's head popped up. I raised my hand to him, saying to give me a minute.
"Got to go, babe," I said my goodbye. "I'll see you tomorrow at the airport."
"Bye honey. 'Love you!" She said, "love you too," I replied and I ended the call.
I faced my beta after I put my cellphone in my pocket. "What is it?" I asked him.
