“Malcolm,” I growl as I take a step backward in fear, only to bump into the tree behind me. He smiles wickedly at me, a smile I know all too well, and it sends a shiver down my spine. “What do you want?”
“Where is your little protector?” he sneers, stepping closer toward me.
“Don’t come near me,” I warn him, putting my hand up in front of me, trying to protect myself. I’m starting to regret my decision to leave the safety of my hospital room, but it is too late now.
“What are you going to do about it?” he chuckles.
“You don’t want to know,” I tell him, but in all honesty, I have no idea what I’m doing.
