CH 3 # His Family

Finally, Diwali vacation has been started, Diya has packed her bag, she is from Ratnagiri, she already booked a bus ticket for home. She asked Eva, “Have you booked your flight for Goa?”
“Yes”
“Okay, take care, and reach the airport on time,” Diya said Eva and left the room, her taxi was waiting.
Eva’s phone buzzes, she thought for a while and received, “Hi, Dad.”
“Eva, do you want to celebrate this Diwali with us?” Her dad asked.
“No, Dad. I’m going to Goa.”
“Why are you staying in that rented flat, come here at your own home, you also have a family.”Her Dad tried to convince her.
“Thanks, Dad, but I don’t want and if I will come, your wife will not able to handle my anger,” Eva replied and hung up the call. Her eyes filled with tears.
She was looking outside the window, she saw Advay. She took her small college bag and locked the flat. When she came out of the apartment, Advay saw her and asked, “What about your friend?”
“She left,” Eva replied while sitting on the back seat of his sportbike.
“Where is she?”
“Ratnagiri, …. Why?”
“Nothing, one question is roaming in my mind. She is from Ratnagiri, and you are from Goa. How you became friends?”Advay asked while driving his bike.
“On the day of admission, her mom and my granny became friends. So we became friends. And both oldies hired a flat for us, so we can stay together and help each other.” Eva explained to him.
“Hmmm, by the way, we are going to my home, because my mom wants to meet you,” Advay informed her.
“What?......... No.. I wear a mini frock, how can I go like this in front of her.”
“Okkkk, no worry, let’s buy something for you.”Advay calmed down her. After an hour driving, they reached a mall, they go inside and select a long Kurti and leggings for her. When she changed clothes and came out from the trial room, a gasp escaped from Advay’s mouth. He was looking for her from the past six months but always in jeans, shirt or shirt.
“Perfect.”Advay complimented. Advay selected some more dresses for her. At last, he wanted to pay the bill but Eva paid with her card and warned Advay, “After marriage, you will be allowed to pay my bills before that only I will pay, I hope you understand Mr Ranawat.”
He joined his hands and said, “Shall we..?”
“Yessssss”
The journey for his home is like a long drive for them. They enjoy it and reached at his home after three hours driving. She was tired and now afraid of his family. He parked his bike and held her wrist, “Ler’s go.”
She walked behind him, she never feels this kind of nervousness, she never thought that one day she will face like this situation. Her heartbeats increased, after all, she is going to meet the family of the police commissioner. She would die with this fear. Advay pressed the doorbell, after a minute, his mom opened the door.
Eva was trembling with fear. His mom welcomed them, Advay pulled her inside the home. His mom hugged Advay and glanced at Eva, she stucked, “Is she…….”
“Yeah, she is….” Advay cut her off.
“Who is there, mom?” Arpana asked from inside the kitchen.
“Your sis-in-law.”His mom replied in teasing tone. She pulled her in a hug. Eva’s eyes filled with tears.
“Mumma” The only word escaped from Eva’s mouth.
“Yes, Advay never hides anything from us. Welcome to your own home.”His Mom said and they all came inside.
They sat on the sofa, at that time his father came.
For Eva, this situation is like a horror scene of the movie. She is cursing herself, why she agreed with Advay.
Advay was hugging his father, she stood behind him and she stepped towards his father and touched his foot for a blessing.
Shivaji placed his right hand on her head, "Stay blessed beta."
Eva went to the kitchen with his mom, she met Arpana. Eva said, "Hi, Dii."
"Hello"
Eva sat beside her and helped her in making puri. Soon both became good friends. During their conversation, Eva learns that Arpana is also preparing for IAS. She learnt so many things from her.
Nobody asked her anything about her, her parents. Eva was afraid that she has to answer so many questions about his family. Here the situation is absolutely the opposite as she thought.
After having lunch Advay and she left for the airport. Advay took his father's car. On the way, he asked, "How's my family?"
"Best" She smiled.
"Advay, we came so close in a few days. Don't you think?" Eva exhaled.
"Eva, we didn't come close yet, I didn't hug you properly, not kiss you. How can you say that we became close?" Advay smirked.
Eva sighed and bites her lower lips.
Advay took her hand in his hand and squeezed slightly.
She glanced at him by the corner of her eyes. He laughed at her glare.
"Eva, I love you."
"Love you tooooooo." Eva covered her face.
They reached the airport on time when she was stepping out, Advay holds her hand again. She pulled her hand and moved out. He nervously came out of the car and asked nervously, "May I hug you?"
She slapped on his chest and replied, "After Diwali vacation, till then bye."
Advay rubbed his hand on the neck with style. She looked back and gave him a flying kiss from the entrance.
Advay jumped with a huge smile on his lips.
When Eva reached her home. Her granny observed changes in her.
"Eva, you looked changed." Mrs Fernandez asked with a smirk.
"Nothing, granny. I missed you." She kissed on granny's forehead.
"Hmmm, go and get fresh. I'm going to church, are you coming with me?" Granny asked.
"Yeah, granny, I'll."
They both went to church, Eva told her granny everything except Advay.
