Chapter 3 Cultivation

915 Words
Will sighed and crossed his legs. He needed to be stronger if he wanted to survive in this unfamiliar world. But strength was only a single factor—he also needed to become stronger.   He could feel his Qi flowing through his hips, empowering him.   His body was not ready to be used. His meridians were distorted, and Qi couldn’t run smoothly through them. Therefore, even if he could absorb Qi from heaven and earth into his body, it was useless.   Perhaps my reincarnation into this body changed things. Although the meridians were still distorted, Will's Qi could flow through it smoothly.   Will's heart was set on cultivation. Once his mind had gained focus, he fell into deep meditation.   This mountain was now familiar to him. He looked around and was now surrounded by scenery that he knew well.   "These are the Whiteridge Mountains! " Will yelled, and he slapped himself to ensure he wasn't dreaming. He was delighted that he was still in the Whiteridge Mountains. Up until now, everything inside the palace had felt surreal.   Whiteridge Mountains, known as the first sacred mountain, had a reputation of being the mountain of thousands of ancestors and gods. The sights of the mountain were stunning!   After catching his breath, Will surveyed the area and frowned. He could see now that he was on the highest peak of this mountain.   He remembered taking shelter from the rain in the temple. Why else would he be here?   These were, in fact, the Whiteridge Mountains. He had been hiking in the mountains for a few months. Although he hadn't seen the mountains in their entirety, he could remember some of the sights he had seen.   Rumor has it that there is a Jade Pool in Whiteridge Mountains. According to mythology, it was transformed by the Goddess Nyrella after her enlightenment. It was told that mortals who bathed in this pool could be reborn.   It was, of course, only a myth. However, there was indeed a pool on the mountain. The sight of it inspired him.   Although Will didn't know why he was here, this was still his world. He refused to ponder further on it; he just wanted to leave Whiteridge Mountains as soon as possible. Whatever happened here was not under his control.   Will did not enjoy the idea of traveling between bodies.   He swiftly trekked down the mountain, but he soon discovered that he could only return to the center of the mountain top no matter which way he turned.   And if front of him was a pool. No, not just a pool: the Jade Pool from the myths and legends!   When he reached the edge of the Jade Pool, something began drawing him closer, and he couldn't help but jump into the water.   His body was completely submerged.   What is happening to me? He became afraid. As he finished this thought, the edges of his vision became dark, and when he reopened his eyes, he found himself in the antique room.   The only difference was the smell of the room. A pungent odor filled Will's nose as he looked down to find his entire body covered in a thick layer of black liquid. It was disgusting, and the smell was very unpleasant.   Could this be a Meridian Cleansing and Body Strengthening treatment? Will's heart felt like it would beat right out of his chest. He no longer cared about the smell. The treatment was new to him, but he recognized its potential to help him. He was ready to begin cultivation.   His Qi moved swiftly along his internal meridians, and it felt to be moving ten times faster than before! Thank god! Will was stunned. He had regained the host body's memory, and he was becoming more attuned to its movements. He might even be a natural talent!   All of this came to him from the good graces of the Jade Pool.   Could it be possible to be reborn from the water of the pool? That has to be the only real explanation. Will continued wondering about these things.   If I can make it to Whiteridge Mountains like before, is it possible to continue traveling between these two points? Are the Whiteridge Mountains a portal for me to travel through?   After thinking for a while, Will shook his head. "I'll figure it out. Now I need to refocus my efforts."   …..   The dawn of a new day broke. Sunshine brightened the room and shone on his body.   The boy had become a vision of majesty. Will was feeling the spiritual power in his core and smiled excitedly. In just one night, he had reached the first level of the realm of Qi condensation.   This host body had done cultivation for over ten years, but still, it was weak. Now he had made the body strong.   'We'll create a world where we are more than accepted. We'll be praised!' Will chuckled to himself and his host body.   Two months passed since Will came into this world. He practiced his skills constantly, apart from eating and sleeping. In his diligence and discipline, he reached the fifth level of the realm of Qi Condensation!   Will believed he was now the fastest Qi master in the world. He couldn't help but wonder how others would react to a display of his talents.   Of course, Will was no fool. He knew the realm of Qi Condensation was just the beginning of cultivation. He had too many enemies in this palace. If people knew that he was still alive, they might get ahold of him before he can learn to fight them off.   Will only wanted to grow more powerful. Let's see what they'll all think of me now.
