“What the hell are you doing?”
Will's pupils shrunk. He put on an indifferent look and cleared his throat, "This is none of your concern. Please leave us."
Serena tensed up, and her eyes widened. Jonathan looked different now. Before, he only ever wore a coward’s face. But today, something was different. He was appalled and becoming furious.
"I’ll have Serena removed immediately!” He threatened.
"I said, leave us.” Will brushed him away with the wave of his hand and wasn’t afraid.
Jonathan squinted at him, and he wondered how such a loser of a prince managed to possess a cold and stern attitude now. He hadn’t even flinched!
He would never have thought that the prince could change like this. He was always too weak to train like everyone else at his age. But now, Will felt powerful, and he was not going to be pushed around anymore.
"Will. It is the Emperor’s demand. I wouldn’t choose to embarrass you like this otherwise."
Jonathan took just one stepped forward, and his gentleness was gone. He showed a strong face that was meant to take control.
However, Will raised an eyebrow at him and responded, "I will explain my tardiness to father personally. Leave me now.”
Jonathan could feel by instinct that this prince was no longer the person he once was. But now Jonathan’s servant stepped out from behind Jonathan.
"Your Highness, my lord has been sent here by the emperor's order. Please don't argue with him. The Emperor could punish you cruelly for your disobedience.”
At hearing it, Will chuckled and spoke to the servant. "Who do you think you are that you dare speak to me in this way?"
"Your Highness, I apologize..."
Will scolded him further, "Your disrespectful candor is a sign of serious insubordination. Do you realize this is a felony? I could imagine how badly you ought to be punished.” Even with these strong words, his voice didn’t waver.
Jonathan was shocked by Will’s words and defended his servant. "Will, he only tried to reason with you. Even his disrespect wouldn’t be considered a felony..."
"Oh? Maybe when your servants disrespect you, you let them do so freely. But I do not let them go unpunished. You are no more of a prince than I am and shall do as I please.” Will turned to him and snapped.
Jonathan's eyes widened at this, and he made a fist. But he held back his anger and bowed. "Your Highness, I apologize for my rudeness. Please forgive me. I will make sure I respect your desires in the future."
"You need to rest. I will leave you now." After saying this, Jonathan nodded and turned to leave. He stopped and stood at the door for a moment before storming out.
He spoke to his servant as he walked away from Will’s room. "I need you to do something. Send someone to stand guard at the gate of the Heavenly Dragon’s Palace! From now on, I must watch the prince very closely."
Jonathan now stared at the palace gates. This palace should have been his.
In the room, Serena held Will's arm tightly. She was not afraid to be punished. Instead, she was worried that something like this would happen again.
The prince’s drowning was not an accident. Will had never been to the Imperial Garden, so how could he fall into the water?
Sensing the woman’s fear, Will became solemn. However, he knew it would be best for him to show patience now.
All of his memories seemed to be wiped once his body hit the water. But before that, he was kidnapped and taken to the Imperial Garden under cover of night. And just as everything seemed to stop, Will was pushed into the garden pool.
The cold water surrounded him. Will could not recognize who his kidnapper was before he lost consciousness, but he was sure it was someone who lived in the palace. Will couldn't help but feel anger built inside him. With this rage, he refused to die here. He refused to die in this way.
It makes sense that someone would do this. I’ve always been a loser to many of these people.
Will sighed thought to himself, ‘I’ll avenge you for suffering this fate. I’ll take care of the man I am now possessing, and I’ll treat Serena well. I’ll give this body and others around it a better life than they had before.
He looked upwards. It was as if the ceiling had disappeared, and he was gazing deeply into the sky above it.
If the gods are controlling my destiny, I will not rest under we are even.
