After witnessing the Crystal Lake ranked members and their warrior blow off steam in the courtyard, we began to head into the packhouse when I felt his presence near me. I tried to act casual as the physique of James entered my peripheral vision.
“Come with me.” He muttered under his breath, and I nod in response. James slips off down the great hall, and I wait until a crowd passes before I follow. I lose sight of him as I walk around trying to follow the guide of our mate bond. I’m led to a dead end at the end of the hall, and am about to turn around when the wall suddenly opens as James reaches through the opening and pulls me through. We stand in silence for a moment, just soaking in the warm that flows between us.
