I finish up at the barn around six and head for the apartment. Technically, six is early for me and I feel more than a little guilty about leaving my grooms to finish up what I should be helping them with, but it’s Parker’s first day.
And the apartment is still standing, I think. Is that a surprise for other parents? Because I’m not entirely sure. Either way, I want to check in with her, make sure everything went okay.
Is that what you’re calling it? an amused little voice in the back of my head asks. Because it seems more like you can’t wait to see her again.
