'Sebastian.'
What?
I blinked my eyes and quickly sat up.
"Who's there?" I said sternly, looking around my bedroom cautiously. No one was there, though. That's strange. I felt a sudden pull from my chest. My hands flew to my chest as a sudden sharp gasp left my mouth because the pull was so strong that it took my breath away.
What the fûck was going on? Suddenly my head started to throb and then that's when I heard her. Her voice was so angelic.
'Sebastian. It's me, Cassandra. Your mate. If you can hear me, I just want you to know that I am waiting for you to come rescue me. Please don't fall for Dante's trap. He only means to capture you. Please be careful, my precious mate. I need you to come save me. I can't take another day with all this pain and suffering he brings upon me.'
Dante? The only Dante I knew was a vampire and he was a cruel sadistic son of a b***h. He only wanted one thing, and that was control and power. He has tried numerous ways in trying to get mine and my parents' attention, but to no avail. We knew he wanted me.
Cassandra. How was it possible that she communicated with me and why, after all these years? I have looked everywhere for her, and never have I heard a peep from her.
So why now? Why is she warning me about Dante? Has she been hidden by him all this time? I felt my blood begin to boil. How dare he hide my mate from me and hurt her. He must pay.
I quickly jumped out of bed and rushed to get dressed. I needed to speak with my parents and grandparents.

Cassandra
"What have you done, pet?" Dante growled viciously as he squeezed firmly around my throat. "P-Please... I-I don't know." I croaked out as my body stopped glowing. I didn't even know I could do that. Humans didn't glow, did they?
"Why did you grab your necklace? What were you thinking when you did that? Answer me!" Dante sneered venomously. I couldn't breathe, I clawed at his hands, trying to get him to loosen his grip, but he just chuckled darkly.
"Don't try to fight me. Just tell me. You won't like the consequences of you, don't." My hands dropped loosely as I felt my strength waning. He was killing me. I could feel it. Just as my eyes began to close and my last breath left my lips, he released my neck.
I gulped in so much air that my body began shaking violently, and I clawed at my neck frantically, trying to fill my lungs with much needed air. Dante reached down and fisted my hair, pulling me up towards his face.
"I said answer the fûcking question." He gritted out as he tightened his grip on my hair.
I cried out and knee if I told him a lie, he would know, but I also knew if I told him the truth that I would be punishment severely.
I gulped inwardly because I was frightened and knew what was about to happen. "P-Please..." I whimpered painfully as tears streamed down my face.
"One," he stated angrily, "Two," he dragged me out of bed, "This is your final warning. What were you thinking about, pet?" I looked up at him and closed my eyes, "Thr-" He snapped out, but I interrupted him quickly, knowing I had to tell him before he finished that word. "Sebastian. I was thinking about Sebastian. My mate." I whispered roughly. At least that wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth either. He would never know the whole truth.
The pain that erupted on my cheek was unbearable. I clutched my cheek from where Dante had punched me and cowered in fear. Dante's demeanor was completely unhinged.
"Your mate? Sebastian is nothing to you. You belong to me and only me. How dare you think of another man while I am in the same room as you. Today you will learn a very important lesson, pet." Dante hissed as he dragged me out of the room by my hair.
I cried and begged for mercy, but he just pulled tighter with every word that fell out of my mouth. His coven watched in amusement of the whole charade. Katasha stood there silently watching me and I despised her even more for it.
When Dante came to the one room I feared more than any other, my voice went silent and my body began shaking uncontrollably.
"N-No, P-Please Master, n-not here. Please." I whimpered softly as I clung to his leg, "I'm sorry, please... please... *hiccup* not here. Please." He pried me off of his leg and opened the door.
"NO... PLEASE. I'M SORRY. PLEASE." I screamed frantically over and over again, but he just cackled darkly. "You brought this on yourself, pet. Now you must suffer the consequences. I am your God, and I am the only man who should cross your mind. You will always belong to me."
He tossed me in front of the wooden pole and tied me with harsh rope that rubbed me raw, to the pole with my back on display. He ripped my shirt off and tossed it to the ground. He turned around and faced his coven, but some one else was in the crowd I didn't recognize. Who were they? "You, my dear, pet, shall partake in one hundred lashings. That shall suffice for now as an offering of your forgiveness. It's not enough, but it will do for now."
I closed my eyes because I didn't want to see the torture equipment on the wall because it would make me nauseous, and then I would throw up.
Wait...
Did he just say one hundred lashings?
I gulped inwardly and felt bile rise to my throat.
Whips upon whips were scattered across the room. Some were stained with blood while others weren't. Some were big and some were small. There were ones with tails that had spikes on the end that would tear through your flesh. I prayed he wouldn't use that one on me again. The scars on my back pulse with a reminder of the pain I had once endured.
The last time he did this to me, I only lasted to twenty before I threw up and fell unconscious. How would I survive a hundred? Sebastian, oh Sebastian, where are you, my love?
Dante came close to my ear and whispered viciously, "You will count each and every one of your lashes. Once I am done, you will kiss my feet and thank me for them. Do you understand pet?" My lip trembled with trepidation, because I knew he wanted my voice and not the nod of my acknowledgment.
"Y-Yes, M-Master. I-I u-understand." I stuttered out fearfully. "Excellent, shall we begin then?" He says coldly. I knew he didn't expect an answer, so I just kept quiet.

The first one forced a scream out of my lungs and my whole body tensed as fire consumed my back. "O-One... t-two... t-three." I forced out through gritted teeth.

"Who do you belong to pet?" Dante grunted out as he swung again.
I gritted my teeth and clenched clenched my fists. I couldn't do this anymore. I was tired of being his obedient pet. I was not his pet.
"No more... no more will I obey you. I am meant for Sebastian, the heir to the underworld. You can't control me any longer. He will come for me and when he does you will pay dearly." I said with a fierceness.
I heard a sharp gasp and my eyes snapped to the lady who clung to the man I didn't know. "Cassandra. My daughter." She whispered in shock as tears fell from her eyes. The man beside her tensed and snarled viciously
"DAUGHTER? WHAT DO YOU MEAN? YOU TOLD ME OUR DAUGHTER WAS DEAD!" The man standing next to her screamed angrily and snapped his eyes to mine, and I could see the pain he carried inside the depths of his irises.
Dante had continued with the lashes, but I couldn't feel them anymore because I was numb. He was at fifty-five, and all I could do was stare in disbelief as I looked at the people who claimed to be my parents.
