The King's Downfall

*King Zion* I still couldn't believe that my daughter, my own flesh and blood, was still alive. I knew that my wife had taken her away when she was just a baby, but when she returned without her, I was livid. Then, after all the punishment she received from my lycan, because he was furious, she dared to take his pup from him. She finally told us that Cassandra was dead. Drako's heart had been shattered into a million pieces. Cassandra was the last heir he could have. She was important and special to him. She was the last of the bloodline for us. After her "supposed" death, though, Drako closed himself off and became even colder and more cruel than he was before. He still loves our mate, but he is still fighting his emotions, but me, not so much. As much as I love my mate, I hate her just as much. I know I can't kill her, because then Drako would end up dying from the loss of his one true mate, but I make her suffer in other ways, every goddâmn day, more now that I know the truth. I rushed her to the coven's witch doctor and opened the door. I stopped in my tracks when I noticed that Katasha was her. Why was this bîtch here? Did Dante send her? If I didn't want this plan to go through as much as I did, I would kill all these motherfûckers. I loathe the vampires. They are vile, blood sucking creatures who shouldn't be here. I look over at her with narrowed eyes, but she just looks at me with a smug look. She knows I can't stand her. "My master has sent me to make sure our coven witch has all the help she needs. Your mate needs all the extra hands she can get." She said with a chuckle. I placed my wife on the bed and then stalked over to where Katasha was. My hand whipped out so fast as it wrapped around her throat. "What the fûck is that supposed to mean?" Drako snarled viciously as he surfaced rapidly. Her eyes bugged out with shock, and for once, the snarky bîtch was afraid. Good. She should know not to fûck with me, "You dare disrespect me, Drako, The Lycan King? My mate? I should rip your head off for such insolence." She dropped her eyes that were filled with tears in submission, and her whole body went limp. "Forgive me, your majesty. I meant no respect." She whispered roughly. 'Enough, Drako. We don't need any problems with Dante." I said through mindlink. 'Fine, but I don't like this one bit. Something isn't right here. This place doesn't feel like it is a welcoming place. I don't think Dante wants to help. We need to get Cassandra and our mate out of here." Drako hissed through the link and then cut it off, disappearing to the back of my mind. I let Katasha go, and she quickly wiped the tears away and backed away slowly. "I am sorry, Katasha. Drako is very shortfused when it comes to our mate. Please forgive him." I said calmly. 'Don't apologize on my behalf, you stubborn motherfûcker. I'm not sorry." Drako growled angrily to me. I just ignored him, and Katasha smiled softly. "Thank you. I accept your apology. Please, we must see what we can do to help your wife." I nodded my head in agreement and followed her over to where the witch was looking over my wife. "What's happened to her? She was fine when we got here. She has never gotten sick in her life." I said with frustration. The witch doctor listened intently and nodded in understanding. My wife was curled up in a ball and whimpering softly as the pain consumed her. "I will have to look in my spell books, but perhaps it has something to do with seeing your daughter? Mothers always have a strong bond with their children," She said as she walked over to her bookshelf, scanning her books. "There it is." She whispered as she grabbed one of the books and set it on the stand. She opened the book and quickly scanned through it. She stopped on a page and then disappeared only to reappear again on the other side of the room. She was searching through all the herbs, roots, and medicine she had. She reached up and grabbed a bottle filled with leaves. She opened the jar, and the aroma filled the air instantaneously. It was a strong and potent smell. "What is that?" I choked out with disgust. "It will help with the pain for now. It is a leaf from a glow flower. They are rather stinky, I'm afraid, but it will work with the pain until I can find the right spell to help her." She said with a smile. "NOO... IT'S DADANGER-y wife started to scream out, but the doctor quickly placed it on my wife's tongue and closed her mouth as she patted my wife's cheek,"Shhh... there you go. This will help with the pain, dearie." My wife's eyes rolled to the back of her head, and then she went limp. "Why did she react this way? What has happened?" I demanded. The doctor just smiled warmly and nodded her head in sympathy, "It's alright. She is fine. I laced it with a mild sedative. Nothing dangerous. You have my word." I nodded hesitantly, but for some reason, I had a feeling something wasn't right. Chills entered the room, and my blood ran cold. Drako was right. Something wasn't right here. I felt a presence behind me, so I started to turn, but out of nowhere, I felt something prick my neck hard. My head became hazy, and my vision blurred badly. I could vaguely hear Drako calling out to me frantically, but it sounded so far away. My eyes began to droop, and I lost my balance and crashed to the ground. The last words I heard before I lost consciousness was, "Once he falls asleep, take him to the cage where I will put a collar on his neck. His lycan will finally be mine to control."
