"I apologize," Kristi said. "I will start over."
David looked at Alecia in irritation and said, "It's just a song. It's not bad, and you asked for it, so don't be so angry. Why don't we get her to pour us some wine?"
Alicia was in no mood to be soothed, though. She glared at Kristi and said, "Get down on all four, like a dog, and crawl to me!"
Kristi crawled across the floor, and her expression never changed. She had the money, and she wasn't embarrassed. Alicia stared at her resentfully, with a vicious smile on her lips. "We'll take that wine now," Alicia said, but as soon as Kristi started to pour it, Alecia caused Kristi to spill all over herself.
"What the f**k?" Alecia shouted. "That was expensive wine!"
"I'm sorry," Kristi muttered. But she didn't look sorry. She seemed indifferent, and it caused Alicia to become enraged. She spat on Kristi and called her a stupid cow.
"It's okay," David said. "I am rich. We can order more wine."
Alicia saw that her outburst was upsetting David, so she forced herself to calm down. She snuggled up to him and said, "David, you're too generous. I love you so much." Alicia leaned in and kissed David, and then looked down at Kristi, who was kneeling at her feet and trembling slightly. She smiled at the poor girl like a shark might smile at a guppy – if sharks could smile, that is. "If you want me to forgive you, I will," she said. "Just show me which hand released the wine just now? Let me step on it, and I will let you go." She looked lazy, but her words were vicious.
Kristi looked at Alicia blankly, as if she didn't understand, or wasn't listening, or just plain didn't give a s**t if the other girl forgave her or not. When Kristi refused to reply, Kristi convinced David to hold her down so that she could stomp on her hand with her high heeled shoe.
Kristi screamed out in pain, but the sound could barely be heard over David and Alicia's cruel laughter.
The next day, this story spread in the form of gossip, and some people said that she deserved it. "After all," they said, "a bottle of red wine here is worth at least ten thousand dollars. Could she afford to replace it? I doubt it, especially if she refuses to have s*x with our guests. What a pretentious woman!" They couldn't believe how she'd humiliated herself by picking the money off the floor and singing, and they said that she was a total loser.
When Ray heard about this, though, he was not pleased, and he demanded that Alicia and David be brought to him. He ordered that everyone who had been gossiping and laughing behind Kristi's back is either fired or banned from the club, depending on whether they were clients or employees.
Then, when Alicia and David appeared before him, he had buckets of ice water dumped on their heads. "How does it feel to be splashed with water?" he hissed. The two were about to start cursing, but when they saw the look on Ray's face, they decided against it.
"Let this be a lesson," Ray said, "to you and to anyone else that thinks that they can use Kristi as their own personal plaything!"
Alicia and David were horrified, but they understood Ray's intention. He had heard about how they had humiliated Kristi and this was their punishment: to be humiliated in return – tit for tat.
David's face had gone white, and his knees went weak. He had not intended to offend Ray, and he went to his knees to beg for forgiveness. Neither of them had known that Kristi was connected to Ray. If they had, they wouldn't have treated her so cruelly - or at least David wouldn't have.
Alicia was trembling under the pressure of Ray's powerful glare. Her eyes turned red, and she cried, "Mr. Black, I was wrong."
Ray sneered and said, "I know how you like to humiliate people, so I will fulfill your wishes."
