Raiden's POV
I am the most powerful creature on earth, and no one is strong enough to take me on. You see, I am not only the son of the first Alpha King ever, but my mother is a vampire. I lived a long time, and since I am a hybrid, I can walk in the sun and still be as strong as a werewolf and vampire combined—the werewolf King's blood makes me even stronger than your average wolf. I am the true King of Werewolves, and I am on my way to unite the four werewolf Kingdoms. It is time there is a protector of the kingdoms again. I have heard about the Lycan King and that the golden wolves were born again, but I do not care as I have killed them once before and will do it again if I have to. I'm not particularly eager to kill werewolves, and I do not like hurting werewolves. Still, lately, the hunters have become stronger and are hunting werewolves for the bounty or as a trophy.
The kingdoms need a protector. I do not want to take their thrones or rule them. I just want to protect them. I do not know if they will welcome my help or reject me. I will be the King and protector of the four kingdoms, and the other kings can rule under me, but I have to be connected to all the wolves in the kingdoms and the kings so I can protect them. It is my duty. Since I can remember, my father told me that we must protect the wolves of the new world as they are our responsibility. We brought them here, and we are the ones that must defend them.
The vampires are also part of my pack. So I have to protect them as well as they are part of my heritage. I have not prayed to the Moon Goddess in ages. Not since my father and mother died. Her hunters killed them, and I blame her for everything that happened to them. I know she has tried to talk to me for a long time, but I ignore her. I push her away as I have no place for her in my life anymore. The hunters chased me that night out of the castle in the Kingdom of the New World. My father was king in Europe for a long time, and I went back there and took the throne in Europe as the werewolf king again. No one even dared to challenge me, but my heart was always in the Americas—the new world. I missed the old castle where my family and I stayed for a long time. I want to unite the four Kingdoms and take back what is rightfully mine. My father came here as the hunters in Europe became more aggressive towards vampires, and my mother was one. She was turned at a young age by an old vampire and was his slave until my father saved her and realized she was his mate. It is not common for a werewolf to have a mate from another species, but it was how it was in my father's case. He came to the new world to protect my mother, and in the end, the hunters got them anyway. The hunters were only interested in killing my mother, father, and me and left the other werewolves in this area alone as they chased after me. They followed me to Europe, and I killed them all one by one. My specially trained men and I got them all. I do not believe in the mate bond or having a mate. I do not want pups as they will only be a burden to me.
Like a vampire, I live for eternity, and I see a mate as your weak point. No werewolf King should have a weak point and someone that can put him in danger. I do not trust anyone, left alone the she-wolves or vampire women that share my bed sometimes. They are good for one thing and one thing only -s*x. It keeps me relaxed and my wolf content. He has not complained about a mate in years, and I think he gave up on that idea. The SUVs are driving to the place I remember from my childhood. My pack it big and have a lot of hybrids, vampire, and werewolves in it. I am sitting watching the area, and it has changed a lot since the last time I have been here. I will not ask the Lycans king and the other kings to give up their kingdoms, just to unite under me, and I will help them fight and protect the kingdoms. Some see me as heartless. I do not care. I do not care what anyone thinks of me as long as they know I am strong and will get my way.
I see the castle hidden in the trees. I smile as I see it is still standing. The vampires are driving in the trucks that are covered, so there is no daylight coming in. I stop my driver as we reach the castle gates. It is evident, someone is staying here, and that makes me mad. How dare someone trespass here. I walk to the door, and I enter as the owner must have abandoned it. I get the smell of an original vampire, and I know that Deacon must have lived here before becoming a Lycan. I feel the presence of other vampires, and I call them out. They come out of their hiding places and look at me confused. I do not like creatures in my castle, and I will have to help them build their own houses as my castle is mine alone. I am the King, after all. I walk in slowly and see them standing still, not sure what to do.
"You want to fight me?" I ask as I see one of them getting ready to attack.
"Who and what are you? You smell like a werewolf, but also like a vampire," One says.
"He is a hybrid, but from the King of Europe, the first king, in this area. Before the kingdoms were split and the first king and queen of this Kingdom came into existence," Another one speaks.
"What do you mean the first king and queen?" I ask.
"Well, they ruled this kingdom first, but there are three other kingdoms in this area. This is the Kingdom of the Royal Blood Moon Pack, and the first king and queen they refer to is the first king and queen that ruled the Royal Blood Moon Kingdom and pack," The vampire says.
"I see, so they have forgotten about my parents? The real King and Queen that brought the first werewolves and vampires here from Europe?" I ask.
"No, your history is stored in their archives, and they have always waited for the return of the Hybrid king. They gave up hope that you would ever return, but all the elders of the kingdoms know about you and your family's history here. Even us, the older vampires that lived here our whole life, have been waiting for you, King Raiden," The vampire answers me.
"Does the Kings and Queens of the kingdoms know about the history?" I ask.
"Some do, and others don't," The vampire replies.
"The lycan king and queen, do they know?" I ask. I am getting impatient as I have to drag everything out of these vampires.
"I think the old king and queen know, Lana and Walter Black, but I am not sure they told them about you, yet," The vampire says.
"Well, then they will find out sooner or later," I say.
"Welcome home, King Raiden," The vampire says. My men come in and bring all my belongings with them. I walk outside and see that some of the old houses are still standing. We will start fixing them now as I will not share my castle with the vampires, only the men I trust the most will be on guard in the castle. I call my men, and they start working on the old houses. As we are busy fixing them, I hear a voice from behind me.
"Do you need help fixing these old houses, Raiden?" I sigh as I turn around and see the gypsy standing behind me. I turn my back on her again.
"I told you years ago to leave me alone, Moon Goddess," I say.
"I know, but I missed you as you do not talk to me anymore," She says.
"You did not protect my parents. So why should I talk to you?" I say.
"Because I can help you. You know you are here because of the dream I send you. The creatures in this area will need you, and you will need to help them shortly, but you are not the only strong creature here," The Moon Goddess says.
"But I am the strongest," I say.
"No, you are not. The lycans are back and the golden wolves," She says.
"I killed the golden wolves before I can do it again," I say.
"Only because I allowed you to kill them as they were getting out of hand and became too egoistic, don't make the same mistake, Raiden," The Moon Goddess says.
"I remember my father begging you for help that night your hunters killed them. You did nothing," I say.
"You know I could not intervene. I am not allowed to do that. But, Raiden, I watched over you all these years as your father begged me to do with the last breath he took. Your parents are with me. They are happy and sad. Happy you are still alive and came back to your kingdom, but sad that you do not believe in a mate and love," The Moon Goddess says. I want to laugh, but I see my mother and father standing next to the gypsy as I turn around.
"Raiden, my son, it is good to see you again, even if it will only be for a short time. You have turned into the wolf I always hoped you would be, but do not blame the love and bond your mother and I had for us being killed or the Moon Goddess. You need her, and you need a mate," My father says. I can smell my parents, and I know it is them and not a trick from the Moon Goddess. I walk to them and hug them. I know they have to go back to the heavens with the Moon Goddess. It feels so good hugging them, and I wish they could stay.
"One day, we will be united again, my son, but your time is not now. Your mate is close. Accept her as together you will be stronger," My mother says. Then they are gone. I look at the gypsy still standing near me.
"Well, I can use some help, but I don't need a mate," I say, and she smiles as if she knows something I do not know.
"You need a strong magical creature to help you clean out this place fast, and she is on her way. Oh, one thing before I go, do not offend her. She is not an ordinary being. She is a powerful being and not a witch," The Moon Goddess says as she disappears. I smell her before she appears among the threes. She smells like roses and honey. I try to keep my wolf calm as she walks out of the trees. The most beautiful creature I have seen is standing in front of me. She smiles as she sees me.
"Well, it looks like you need some help," She says.
"And you are?" I ask, feeling grumpy as it does not look like I have made an impression on her, while my wolf and my body strangely react to her.
"Call me Bianca. The Moon Goddess sent me to come and help you out. I take it your name is Raiden," She says.
"King Raiden to you. What are you?" I ask.
"I am your worst nightmare if you are my enemy, or your wish come true if you are my friend," She says. She is wearing jeans with a crop top, and her long black hair shines in the sun. I see the ancient tattoo of the sun, burned into her skin. I can not place her. She smells like a vampire, but more dangerous and deadly as if some part of her is not from this earth. She starts chanting, and the wind starts blowing. She lifts her hands, and the buildings start falling into place. Soon the whole village is back to the way I remember it. She looks at me and smiles. I feel a cold chill run down my spine. What is she, and why does she have the powers of the gods?
