THE MYSTERIOUS SAVIOR

At the same time at the other side of the forest.

A man in black cloak went to the forest of doom with a specific goal in mind.

He went into the deepest part of the forest.

At the center, he casted a magic that disturbs the flow of mana in the surrounding, waking all the beasts from their slumber.

[Who’s the vermin who dares to step into my lair and disturbs my slumber?!]

A voice was suddenly heard.

The voice sounded so deep and the pressure of it is overwhelming that it can make an ordinary man collapse upon hearing it.

“*smirk* Oh my! Sorry for disturbing you great one”

[Bastard! You purposely woke me up and dare to play innocent about it! unforgivable!]

“Now what should I do with this? Play with it for a little or directly do my task?”

[Don’t ignore me! What is your purpose in coming here? I might spare you base on your answer]

The man smiles in a creepy evil manner.

“Hey calamity beast! I need you to come with me! if you do so without resisting it will be painless *smirk*”

[Insolence!! You worm! how dare you belittle me, Die!!]

The beast attacks the man with its claw, making the ground shatter to pieces.

However, the man dodges its attack and landed in a certain tree.

“For one of the four calamity beasts, it is said that you are the one with the shortest temper, I see now that really is true”

[You insolent human! I may be softer on humans than the other three but you’re an exemption I will torn you to pieces! Rawwr!!!]

The man is dodging every attack of the beast which makes it more furious.

[Tch! You wiggly worm! You are not a normal human I see….]

“You just realize that now? For a legendary beast you sure are not a smart one!”

Their feud lasted for several minute until the beast notices that the man has no intention of fighting back.

[You maggot! Are you trying to worn me?! fight back like a true warrior!]

“That won’t happen…. you see I’m just an evil mage and I don’t have even an ounce of a warrior’s blood! *giggle*”

[….! Bastard! You will regret making one of the four calamity beast your enemy!]

“Well, that part is already inevitable the moment I enter here… so just behave and be my underling!”

[ ....? HAHAHAHA! Underling? Who, me? As if a mere human can bring me into submission…

You’re not even damaging me, well that is impossible to begin with, my fur can withstand even the direct hit of a grand magic]

“Well, that won’t be a problem because I will hit you with this-”

The man uttered strange words and a black smoke appears out of him.

The black smoke then went to the beast, but the beast roar and attack it but it didn’t work.

Instead, the black smoke enters the beast body through the pores of it skin and to the other holes in its body.

[..! bastard, is this…..forbidden magic?! Are you a taboo mage? S**t! I let my guard down! You Vermiiiin!]

The voice of the beast vanishes slowly until it became completely silent.

“Phew! Now he finally shuts up”

The beast’s fur is naturally white in color but because of the spell casted on it, it became completely black and it exert a thick black aura.

“The one I give you is a type of curse that gives you absolute obedience to me, only I, the caster can lift it HAHAHAHA”

[……Rawrrrr!]

“Oh my! It seems that you also lost you’re sense of reasons, well I will let it for now”

The beast leaves the center of the forest and went on a rampage destroying everything on its’ path it then set its’ eyes to the direction where the two kids enter the forest.

“Hmmm, even though you are under my control right now, I need some Guinee pig to test if your strength decreases or not”

While the man is thinking how to test the strength of the tamed calamity beast, he stumbled upon the crash site of the star.

“It would like something falls from the sky last night…

Hmmm… judging from how large this crater is, it is an object with the same size of a human.

This really is my lucky day! An otherworldly metal is indestructible and will fetch for a large sum of gold, I can also use it as an amplifier for my magic *giggle*”

While the man is getting ready to go down the crater, he heard two small voices.

“Hmmm let’s make a good distance first for a better view”

It was the two kids!

“Sis, it looks like this is it”

Rian is tired and out of breath for running and catching her breath.

“Whew! heh! heh! it real-ly i-s heh!”

“Come on sister! It’s time to get rich”

“Hey! W-wait for me!”

But before they go down, the tamed calamity beast suddenly jumps in front of them.

The two of them were startled and the strength of their legs leave them.

The beast’s glowing red eyes and the black aura surrounding it gives shivers down to their spine.

They were so scared that every part of their body is trembling.

But Ren pulls himself together and gather all his strength and courage to stand up and hug her sister while pointing his father’s dagger in the beasts.

Then the beast lets out a large roar….

[RAWRRR!!]

Ren’s legs are shaking like a drill, while Rian went behind his back and is crying buckets.

“I’m sorry Ren *sob*, it’s my fault we’re in this situation *sob*, I’m really sorry!”

“It’s not your fault sis. If I didn’t convince you to go here this wouldn’t happen”

“Tch! I was blinded by greed, It’s all my fault!”

“That’s why I will protect you sis!”

Ren gathers up all his courage and shout.

“Sis! after I charge and attack it, you will run as fast as you can, understand?!”

“Bu-but! I can’t leave you here!”

“Don’t worry, after you run, I will catch up to you, we still have to go back together remember?”

Ren is smiling, but Rian knows that it’s impossible to beat the beast and escape from it.

So instead of running, Rian also stands up, wipe out her tears and gather up her courage then stand beside Ren to face the beast.

“I will not run Ren! we enter this forest together! we will leave it together! *smirk*”

“You really are stubborn sis; you know that it’s impossible to get out now”

They both laugh as their fear slightly faded and give the beast a fighting stance.

[RAWRRRR!!!]

The beast roar and charge towards them.

“I will cast some wind magic to distract it! Use that chance to stab its heart Ren!

“Okay sis!”

-Sis will get exhausted after casting that spell so failure is not an option, I just hope that dad’s dagger can pierce it-

They executed their suicide plan; however, a sudden voice was heard.

“SO NOISY”

A sudden chill covers the whole forest, making the beast stops from charging towards the kids.

Even the man who is watching from afar felt something he never felt before, making him retreat several meters away from his original position without even realizing it.

The voice came from the center of the crash site.

A sudden burst of aura came out of it and pierce the sky, making all the smoke covering the area disappear. The aura was felt towards the whole world, making all the powerful figure in all the kingdoms to panic and became intrigued. Some taught that one of the four calamity beasts may go on a rampage and some Judges that it was a different power from the calamity beasts.

“Hey MINFI! I told you that I’m sleeping, didn’t I?”

[I’m sorry young master, it seems that there was a fool who dare to interrupt your slumber]

“Oh-hoh, is that so?”

[Yes, it would seem so, however--]

“However....what?”

[Well, I will just let you check it for yourself]

“Hmmmm, tch! You’re no fun! very well then!”

The man flies out of the hole and land in between the kids and the controlled beast.

He looks at the beast and examine it.

“Hmmmm, it seems that this one is being controlled by some sort of curse?”

[Yes, as expected of young master, but it seems that the one responsible is very far away]

“Hoh….! then he would really be skilled and powerful if his instinct tells him to back off from me”

“This one really seems to be a legendary beast of this world, and being able to control one needs extraordinary power and skill”

The beast, even though it is under the control of the black cloak man, its body refuses to move.

It seems that its experience for being alive for so long is telling its body to not to move and suppressing its rage from the curse.

Because its instinct tells it that it will die the moment it moves.

Meanwhile, the controller of the beast finally realizes that he suddenly retreated several blocks away.

“Wha-what was that!? I, Vesta, the greatest magician in the history of Berg, retreated without even knowing it?!”

The man under the black cloak is called Vesta, one of the important figures in the kingdom of Glacier.

“How!? Why? What suddenly appear in there? Damn it!!”

He uses the sight of the beast to know who is responsible for injecting fear towards him.

But upon using the beast’s sight he wondered.

-…. huh? what’s this? It’s all dark…. did I underestimate it? How come I can’t see anything! -

He looks in any direction but it was all completely dark but then he decided to look up and there he saw something that stares back at him. It made him feel fear beyond imagination and force him to let go of the beast’s insight

“Damn it!!! Who knew the…there was something like that here?!..... don’t tell me that that’s the true form of the calamity beast?!”

Not knowing what to do, he decided to retreat and leave the area.

“Tch! Did I get too cocky? I was planning to use that calamity beast first to scare the queen and beat that damn strong barbaric princess before handing it over to the four kings…...but that plan failed….

I will just leave it to the four kings! For now, I will report it to them…... Argh!!! Damn it all!!”

-I did successfully put a curse on the beast which means that the mission they gave me is a success! except for my personal plan damn it!-

The man in front of the beast smiles.

-*giggle* he left huh? I guess that’s what you get for peeping…. Now what should I do with this?-

“It will be a pain in the ass if I will go to the caster of the curse because his faraway”

“So let us do this this way”

He looks around first and saw the children in his back, then he smiled.

“It seems that you two did your best to face it huh? That’s remarkable!”

Ren and Rian were too scared when the man appeared but fear slowly left them as soon as they heard him praise them.

-Hmmm? this girl…-

“MINFI! protect those children, the miasma from the curse will kill them for sure”

The man raises his right hand forward and point his index and middle finger towards the beast and draw a horizontal line rightward.

Then Vesta and the beast notice something and then a sudden burst of black smoke occurs in the beast.

The smoke spread upwards and some of the curse’s miasma spread in the whole forest, making weak beast faint or lose their life.

And then all the black smoke and miasma disappears in an instant as soon as the man put’s his hand down.

Vesta was speechless.

It takes several seconds before he grasps the situation and the only word that came out of his mouth is.

“Impossible!!”
