Embarssing

DAMIEN POV I watched as Madeline headed over to the booth with Josh. She looked uncomfortable, but it didn’t seem like he was the reason. I assumed that she felt like she needed to apologize. As I watched her, I noticed how absolutely beautiful she was. She crinkled her nose a little when she was deep in thought. When she smiled, her dimples were on full display. You could read every emotion she was feeling just by looking into her eyes. “Earth to Damien” I saw a hand wave in front of my face. I blinked a few times, seeing Gemma standing in front of me. “I was asking how many of your drinks we’ve sold tonight. I’m gonna place an order for more alcohol.” She jotted down the information before narrowing her eyes at me “She’s my best friend, so I’m going to keep this short. She’s been through hell and back. Don’t f*ck with her or you’ll have me to deal with.” I nodded “Understood.” Gemma might be petite, but I have a feeling that I should take her threats seriously. I saw Madeline slide out of the booth and head back to the bar. Josh returned to his seat near Rebecca with a smug look on his face. “Thanks for the break” Madeline smiled at me. “Anytime. You okay?” She smiled and nodded. “What’s with the new drinks?” Josh asked, furrowing his brows. Something about him bugged me. He seemed like he thought that he was better than everyone else. “Damien shared some of his past drink combos and they were delicious, so we made them the special of this week.” Madeline responded, smiling at me. Josh scoffed “They can’t be that good.” He was irritating me. Rebecca piped in “I will take one of each” she smiled seductively at me. “What about you?” I asked Josh. He just nodded. I made up two of each, sliding them to both. Madeline looked excited, watching their reactions closely. It was kind of cute seeing how excited she was to see what they thought. “Okay, that may have been the best drink I’ve ever tasted.” Rebecca moaned after finishing the Dirty Waffle. I wonder what it would sound like if Madeline moaned. I was lost in thought when I heard someone clear their throat next to me. I looked up at Madeline and she had wide eyes. I looked down, realizing that I was hard as f*ck from thinking about what her moan would sound like. S*it. That’s embarrassing. She probably thought I was thinking about Rebecca too. “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom” She just nodded, eyes still wide. I rushed past her and into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I cannot believe I just turned myself on imagining her moaning. I splash some water on my face, readjusting, and thinking of anything that would fix my current issue. Cats. Dogs. Hippos. Monkeys. Okay, the monkeys did the trick. I rush out of the bathroom and back up to the bar. Josh and Rebecca left, the rest of the bar was pretty quiet. Madeline was keeping busy, probably trying to avoid discussing what she just saw. It’s going to be really interesting working together. We worked together quietly for the rest of the evening and before I knew it, 12:00 am rolled around and we were closing up for the evening. Gemma came out of the office and I remembered I needed to let them know that I would be coming in late on Wednesday. “Hey, I will be in late on Wednesday. It shouldn’t be more than an hour. That okay?” “Reason?” she asked quickly. “My dad’s funeral is on Wednesday.” Both Madeline and Gemma turned their heads to me and gasped simultaneously. “You do not have to come in at all on Wednesday!” Gemma rushed out. “I’m so sorry. I had no idea that your dad had passed.” Madeline said sadly. “Are you sure? And my dad and I weren’t close, so it is what it is.” Gemma nodded at me before excusing herself, and leaving. Madeline looked perplexed. “Where is the funeral?” She asked. “We’re doing a viewing at Johnstown Funeral home and then a celebration of life at the Gemini Banquet Hall.” She nodded. “I’m really sorry for your loss.” I smiled at her “Thank you.” We walked out, and she locked up the bar. “Do you want a ride home?” She thought about it for a second before agreeing. Her house was only a few minutes from here. I dropped her off. I waited until she waved and closed the door behind her. Driving home, I couldn’t get her out of my head.
