I am teleported

Kate's POV “I wanted you to refer me to some specialist,” I said at the dinner time. It was me who made the spaghetti’s now and Tiara liked it. “Specialist in what?” She questioned back. “In teleportation,” I replied with utter seriousness. “Are you for real? We haven’t seen Dogan. I don’t even know if his human form even looked anything like a human. Remember, they were giving Shia some kind of liquid to face her husband. Maybe he was so ugly in his human form. Could be a reason that Shia rejected him?” “I don’t care, Tiara. I am going there to replace Shia. This is what I am supposed to do. Right now, I can’t think of any other way for how to remove this thing off of me.” “And, what if they kill you? Huh? If I were you I would have chosen to live with this curse than live in those times where you can be killed. This curse is your identity.” She makes it sound so easy. “You don’t know how it feels to lose everything I worked for and then hear it is something you can’t do anything about.” I fight back. “I know honey. I didn’t want to be a witch but it is me. It is a part of me. All you need to do is forget the idea of ever finding true love. The downside is, no matter how careful you stay you will end up birthing a daughter? This curse will make it happen somehow...” I had to cut her off, “No, it won’t happen. I know I will end it. I know I have got what it takes to end it.” “You are losing the whole point. You think you are strong and hard-working. No! It was this curse that let you go on to the heights. Your mother was a famous actress. And, I am sure her mother was famous too.” For a second it made me weak thinking how my mother or granny couldn’t do anything about it. But I know I wasn’t Shia or my mother. “You can’t tell me that. I know it won’t happen because I know there is a way. And, I will take that way. If you can’t refer me to someone who doesn’t like the rules much I will be very thankful.” “I am the one who doesn’t like rules…I can do it for you.” I heard her say and couldn’t explain the joy. I was saved a lot of trouble. “Are you sure?” I asked to which she narrowed her eyes. “Of course, you seemed serious and I…I will get into a lot of trouble but on the other side you can pay me handsomely.” She whispered the last part. “Shall your coven kill you or abandon you for this?” I asked to which she shook her head in no. “But…there will be a punishment. But if you never return I might be saved. I hope you stay happy with Dogan.” I could feel the sarcasm in her tone but ignored it. “It doesn’t matter. I know I can’t let a curse decide my fate.” I said determinedly. “So, when we can do this?” I asked to which she replied, “We need a few things and also a full moon. It will be after eight days. And, I will use this time to make my recipe ball.” I didn’t get what she meant at that time but the rest of the days we travelled to different places to get the ingredients. We were trying to plan everything. She gave me a pink stone and this time asked me to engulf it. And, it changed many things. I could feel how in the streets I would only hear in my native language though I could tell from their mouths they were talking in something else. That day finally approached. Of course, I wondered if I would be able to do it or not. In the evening, Tiara was going to do the ritual. Her grocery wanted a refill and realizing I might never come back here I decided to have this walk. Who knows what can happen once I am there? I wonder if I was looking at this time for the last time because there was no plan or way of coming back. And, even if there was any Tiara hasn’t discussed to me yet. And, I didn’t ask the question thinking if it can make Tiara doubt my willingness to do this. I stopped at a general store to buy some grocery. I had told Tiara about my safe at my old place and what’s the password to it. I wanted her to pay and I knew my jewellery will be enough. “Kate,” I knew who it was. I turned to look at Tom. All those images from my future came at me making me still for a few minutes before I started running. I knew now he knows in what building I was staying but I hope he doesn’t come after me today. It was wrong to say that I was not scared. I was beyond scared. I wonder what the future will hold but I knew one thing for sure. No curse was going to hold me back. For now, it didn’t matter if I live here or there. I will not let this curse ruin one more life. We both were sitting around a bathtub. It was made up of black stone and until now she had made six different broths. And, surprisingly no matter how hot her broth is…the icy red water in the tub remains icy. “Have you done it before?” I asked to which she replied. “I once sent a rabbit and a snake.” She replied making me ask an obvious question. “How do you know that you did the right job?” I asked making her look at me. “When I tried to retrieve them I only got snake back.” I actually believed her words before she ends up laughing. “Have you tried going back?” I asked making her smile. “Yes, I have travelled back to see different times but I didn’t change a thing there. But you have to have something that connects you to that time.” “What I have?” I asked making her look at me. “I am depending on the fact that your curse will get you at the right time. And, who knows it is all happening because you were somehow destined to be his wife.” I don’t know why but for the first time I actually thought about that creature, Dogan. “Oh,…so you can get the person back?” I asked making her shake her head. “If you are going to marry the dragon I suggest you stay with him.” She advised me and I blinked cluelessly. “No, Dragons’ gods only wanted an heir right. Tell me how to do it. I might want to come back once my work finishes there?” I don’t know why I was having tiny second thoughts only now.   “Yes, but I have never heard of anyone who stayed in the past for a year. I am not saying it is not possible. But what if you fell in love with him? We don’t have any way for communication what if you wanted to stay there and I foolishly kept filling this tub all my life.” “I am certain about me. Even if I fell in love with him I will be able to move on. Didn’t you see? He died before Shia could birth to her first baby. He won’t live much anyways.” She gawked at me with an open mouth. “And, you will leave your baby there knowing he won’t even have a father to take care of him.” For the first time, I wonder. What if I am just like Shia? A selfish woman who doesn’t think about people she was supposed to worry about. But I knew I wanted to know just in case. “Can I control it? I mean when I want to come…” I asked making her get up from her place and walk in with the recipe ball we have been preparing. She read some things keeping the stone close to her mouth. As if she was talking to that stone. She handed me that stone saying, “Hold this stone. It will help you travel. And, whenever you want to come? Break this stone and jump in a river or stream with this stone’s parts in your hand. I will make sure to have this tub filled with water all the time.” Oh, so she was supposed to have this tub filled. Of course, she was doing a great favour then. “I will never forget this favour,” I told her. “I…I would want you to consider your decision. Anything can happen.” I could see Tiara’s face screaming something at me for a moment. Of course, she could see that I have this ability to be as immature as Shia. I nodded my head taking in the information. “I know that I am doing it,” I whispered. “Strip and get in here.” She asked with her face very rigid now. Making me wonder what I will be wearing there but it shouldn’t be Tiara’s concern. She had already done a lot. I was going to find out and help me out myself. I strip out of my Gucci dress. Of course, it won’t have any meaning there anyways. The water felt cold as I placed my leg in there. “Relax your body.” She told me and I followed. I was holding the stone firmly and waited for it to happen as I lay there. Tiara guided my head down underwater with her thumb on my forehead. Nothing happened and I had to come out to breathe. “That’s strange. It never happened.” She whispered making me look at her. This is now when I worry about where I will land. What if it didn’t work? Or something wrong happens. “Let’s try again.” She said making me take a long breath before getting in there. From there we tried three times more but nothing happened. “I don’t know why it is not accepting.” She seemed unsure. “What do you think it could be?” I asked to which she looked away frustrated for a few seconds before replying. “This curse…I thought it will let us in that time but it seems…this curse understands what we are trying to do.” “What?” Oh my God. Now all of a sudden I was worried about what if I could never get this chance to change my fate. “I don’t know…maybe it doesn’t want to be removed. It wants into being. And, I don’t think we have anyone else who would help us.” “Who do you think can fight this curse?” I asked making her shake her head in disappointment. “I am sorry. No one can be more powerful than a curse…I am so sorry, Kate.” She said before standing up and started picking her books. I have noticed she care more about her books than anything else. I leaned my head on the edge and felt so stupid and helpless. It was good that Tiara had left. I really wanted to be alone right now. I got out of the tub and went into the bathroom to remove this water from me. I was thinking about how I saw Tom and Tania in one bed when I heard Tiara shouting. “Kate! Kate!” I got out of the shower catching a towel on the way and got out to see that red water having a small vortex in the middle. A strange black smoke was steaming off the surface. “What’s happening?” I asked, “I never observed this before but it means you are being called on the other side.” “Who it could be?” I asked to which she looked at me without uttering a word. “Tell me?” I pleaded to make her gulp. “Only a God can beat a curse.” What? I stared at the water but I guess I wasn’t surprised right now. I went back to hold the recipe ball from the shelf and took a large gulp of air while I could feel my legs shivering. “Don’t go in there. Let me read about what it could mean.” She said before running to her room while I hear a whisper too low. I couldn’t get what it was but the beating of the drums was constant. “I got my leg in the water and didn’t feel any bottom. I clutched on to the edge tighter and again took a huge gulp of air before letting go of the edge. I heard Tiara’s voice calling my name but I didn’t hear the end of it. I was swimming in dark water and for a second I felt the water becoming too thick. I look up to notice a moon and felt my lungs burning. I wasn’t someone who could open her eyes much. So, I closed my eyes and desperately swam for the surface. The water was becoming colder and thinner to my relief. I inhaled sharply the moment I break through the surface. The land seems like ten feet away and I felt so tired to swim there. But I knew if I won’t do it now I will rather freeze to death. So, I started swimming to the land. It was not long after when I heard something in the water. For a moment I suspect someone was looking at me but then I held that stone firmly just in case. I don’t know why I felt like crying when I reached the land. But the beating of drums was blasting the whole space. For one, it was good for me. I would know where to go to. I was teleported ten thousand years back. I was scared but I knew I had to do this. Somehow I knew I had made the right choice.
