As the door opened, Emily stood before me, she had visibly lost weight in just a week, her eyes were red and sunken in with black circles underneath her skin pale and drawn. I took a sharp intake of breath. “Oh Sam, please why did you come” she sobbed.  I knew she wanted to run and hide from me; I could see her internal battle. “Please let me in Emily” I said gently, frightened she may close the door from embarrassment.
