CHAPTER FOURTEEN Chronos watched on with his dubious attitude as I removed my shoes, and my gloves. Ros strode into the water up to mid-chest, but I hesitated at the shoreline. I gingerly dipped a toe into the water and found the temperature to be like a lukewarm bath. The soft mist glided over my leg and tickled my bare foot. Ros held his hands out to me and smiled. “I’m here.” I stepped into the waters and a shiver ran up my spine as the tingling sensation traveled up my body. Ros waited patiently, his hands outstretched, as I made my way across the smooth sands. As I reached him one of the floating turtles drifted by my face. I yelped and fell back. Ros leapt at me and wrapped his arms around my body. He twisted around and I fell on top of him into the waters. A laugh escap
