Marlie’s POV
I continued walking towards the dungeons, so clouded by my anger that I didn’t even realize someone was standing at the entrance to the staircase until I walked straight into their chest. I stopped walking and looked up to see Ian looking back down at me.
“Ian! Long time no see.” I gave him a hug and he awkwardly patted my back before I pulled away and looked back up at his face.
“Sorry I didn’t make it to your ceremony, Luna.” He looked down at my face with an apologetic smile. “I have been away with my mate, we have been trying to work everything out between the two of us.” He seemed genuinely happy and that made me feel good that things were seeming to come together for him. It was nice to see other people able to enjoy the mate bond.
“I’m happy for you!” I spoke honest
