Alexander Gold POV,
With a half smoked cigarette in hand I stared out the French window as I watched, as pack members rushed in and out of the pack house. All busy with the big event that was gonna take place here later in the evening.
I'll finally be crowned as alpha of the pack, since the day I could remember, I had been training for this day, and when I turned eighteen a few years ago, my dad started handing over some pack duties over to me.
Sometimes I had to go to other packs in place of him, to negotiate business or treaties.
With the guidance of my father I had taken the pack to another level, for we were now known as one of the strongest packs in the states.
When I had made my name in the packs, I had asked my dad why he had not
retired yet and made me the alpha, but he would say, "Son, I know you are ready but you are not complete now."
And by not being complete he meant finding my second half my mate who would rule next to me.
For a long time I had searched for her and even gone to other packs but there was no sign of her. Tired of waiting I had to convince my dad one way or another to crown me just like that, since I wasn't getting younger as the day went by. I could find a strong she-wolf and mark her as my mate.
But he was strongly against the idea, he believed in soul mates, and he wanted me to find mine, just mate any random person.
As time went by I still didn't find her. Dad, who had been deteriorating in health, had no choice but to hand down the pack duties to me to go rest and before he left he decided to hold today's ceremony.
But for some reason, I had the premonition that I was going to find her at today's ceremony. I don't know if it was because I was obsessed with finding her that I felt like this, but I decided to push the thought behind, and concentrate on what was happening right now, and not on what might happen.
Putting off the flames of the cigarette, I drowned down a glass of whiskey, before striding out of my room to my office, since I still had some official duties to attend to before the evening.
At exactly four in the evening, guests from various packs began arriving, moving out of my office along with my second in command. I went to greet the guests. Alpha's and prominent figures from all over the world were invited to bear witness to the ceremony, not that it was something I wanted.
But dad said it was a must step and I could make various connections, which honestly I don't need, on my own I know I'm capable.
"Hello alpha Drew," taking the hands of the alpha of the west sea pack I welcomed him in,
"You're no longer the little boy that came to my pack a few years ago," he smiled and said while shaking my hands vigorously.
More people came in and I welcomed each and every one of them.
When almost everyone had arrived, my dad moved to the podium along with one of the pack elders, and they began the ceremony.
Invoking the power of the moon goddess with some incantations, I was crowned alpha.
Standing on a chalked circle with my eyes facing upwards and staring at the full moon, staring right at it I took my vows and oats.
Vows to keep and protect the pack with every breath within me, and never do things that bring harm to the pack or the race at large.
Not like I was planning to do so.
