The two men were both staring at Wendy's Jaguar as it sped away, and the obese man had a vicious expression as he muttered to his companion.
I instinctively suspected that he was plotting something, so I hid behind the trees and crept toward them. Once I was near enough, I could hear their conversation.
"Bobby, that pretty woman in the car was the one who got you sent to prison?"
"Yes." The obese man's tone was vicious. "Wendy Lawrence, that cunning woman. I don't know how, but back then, she got someone to investigate me and I ended up spending three
"So are we going to kidnap her, or are we…"
"Nope. If we kidnap her, then she'll just turn around and send us to prison for it. I got a hold of some drugs we could use. Tomorrow, you're going to give Wendy a call and say that your friend recommended her to you, and you want to develop software for your company. Invite her out for a business meeting and take the opportunity to drug her. Then… we can have our way with her, and take some nudes of her as well…"
They continued muttering their plan as they walked away, and I could not hear what they were saying anymore. I did not want them to discover me, so I chose not to follow them. Once they were gone, I came out from my hiding spot behind the trees and stared after them in thought.
That obese man was Bobby Lewser. During the lawsuit three years ago, I found out about his background. He was a director in a multinational corporation, but from what he was saying earlier, he was no longer in that position. Wendy had somehow sent him to prison. Perhaps it was for embezzlement or something like that, but it definitely was not for attempted r**e.
In that case, Wendy Lawrence's family was probably not just an ordinary wealthy family. Bobby Lewser was a crazy man as well. The moment he got out of prison, he wanted to take revenge on Wendy and was going to resort to such an underhanded trick. It sounded like his plan could work as well. They would invite Wendy to a meeting under the guise of discussing a business deal, and then they would drug her and have their way with her. Once they were done, they would take compromising pictures of her to blackmail her for money, or perhaps even to continue getting her in bed…
It was a despicable plan.
If I had not overheard their conversation, then Wendy's life would have turned into hell.
Actually, why did I care about how horrible her life would be? In fact, was this not the outcome that I wished she would suffer?
As for Bobby Lewser, if it had not been for him trying to r**e Wendy, then I would not have gone to prison. I wanted them both to suffer.
Therefore, I came up with a splendid idea. I was going to let them duke it out among themselves. I wanted Wendy to suffer the fate that she should have gotten three years ago, and I wanted to send Bobby Lewser back to prison as well.
After all, it was what Wendy should have gone through back then, and Bobby Lewser should have gone to prison for attempted r**e.
They were going to set their plan in motion tomorrow, so all I needed to do was tail Wendy.
The next day, I got my employee badge. The information was also translated into Tarsh, since I was going to join the team that was bidding for the project in Tarshium. Wendy was still ignoring my presence, but she did not attempt to get rid of me.
Whenever someone came looking for her, I would knock on her door and let them in before resuming my work. At noon, I secretly followed her when she went out to lunch, but she came back to the office once she finished eating. When it was time to get off work in the evening, I rode in a hired car and trailed Wendy's Jaguar.
Sure enough, her Jaguar turned into the parking lot of a hotel. Once she parked her car, she headed to the hotel's restaurant on the first floor and sat down in the dining hall. I followed her in and saw her greeting a man in his thirties.
It was the skinny man who was with Bobby yesterday. He did not behave like a cultured and successful businessman, but since he was wearing a suit from a luxury brand, it made him look like a nouveau riche.
Wendy had clearly not sensed the danger she was in. Perhaps she thought that they were in a public place, so no harm could come to her even if the other person had malicious intentions.
I strolled around the hall and familiarized myself with the exits before taking a seat in the restaurant's lounge area. They were still within my line of sight, so I blocked my face with a magazine and started flipping through it as I kept an eye on them.
The man asked for a shot of whiskey, but Wendy only asked for a glass of water.
I trailed behind the server and saw Bobby waiting in the corridor. He threw down a lanyard before pointing it out to the server. When the server turned to look, Bobby poured a colorless liquid into the glass of water. He had done it very quickly, and they were in a corridor, so the only person who saw it happening was me.
Just like that, the glass of water was delivered to Wendy, and she downed half the glass. Soon enough, Wendy started to rub her temples, as if she was feeling tired. After a while, Wendy got up and went to the washroom. I assumed that she wanted to wash her face to wake herself up a little.
The moment Wendy walked off, the man rushed to pay the bill and followed her to the washroom. I did not follow them, but instead, I took out a pair of sunglasses and a face mask before lying in wait in a corner near the corridor.
Based on my earlier observations, I knew that the corridor to the washroom also led to the elevators that went up to the hotel rooms. I suspected that Bobby and his accomplice were going to bring her up. True enough, after a few minutes, the man appeared, and he was carrying an unconscious Wendy to the elevator.
Bobby followed behind them and kept repeating, "I told you that Miss Lawrence can't hold her drink. Hurry up and send her to the room."
When they walked past the corner I was at, I could smell the strong stench of alcohol.
They had planned ahead and doused her in alcohol—that, combined with their comments as they dragged her along, made everyone believe that Wendy really was drunk.
Once I was sure that they had entered the elevator, I went back to the lounge and removed my sunglasses and face mask. After two minutes, I pretended I was in a hurry as I rushed to the concierge and said, "I got a call from my friend who said that she was drunk and was resting in one of the rooms, but I don't know which room she's in. She's not picking up her phone either. I only know that she was with two other male friends, so could you please help me check which room she's in?"
The concierge checked over the intercom and confirmed that there was an unconscious woman before telling me that they had checked into Room 1208 just under a minute ago. I quickly got into the elevator and went up to the 12th floor before standing there in wait.
I planned on giving it a few more minutes before I called the police. By the time the police got here, Bobby and his accomplice would have gotten their way with Wendy. I was thrilled by the thought of getting revenge on them, and my mind began to imagine what the men would do to her…
The more I thought about it, the more restless I became. I started to feel a little uneasy, and this feeling kept growing. I distracted myself by lighting up a cigarette and taking a deep breath. Finally, I cursed under my breath and tossed the cigarette away before marching over to Room 1208 and banging on the door.
"Who is it?" Bobby's startled voice rang out.
I used the politest tone that I could muster and said, "I am one of the servers from the restaurant. Earlier, the lady dropped a pair of glasses in the dining hall, so I'm sending it up to her."
"No need. You can toss the glasses in the trash."
"My pay would be docked if I do that, sir. I can hand the glasses over to you if you open the door just slightly."
Bobby did not answer, so I took two steps back and held the pair of glasses in front of the door's peephole.
In a moment, the door opened slightly. Immediately, I rushed forward and kicked the door wide open.
Bang! The door crashed into Bobby and made him stumble to the ground. I rushed forward and gave him a few resounding kicks. Meanwhile, his accomplice reacted quickly and stormed over to me, but three years in prison had turned me into a fighting machine. Soon enough, I left them both writhing on the floor in pain.
"Ditch the plan. We need to leave right now." Bobby ran to the door with this accomplice trailing after him.
I looked at Wendy who was lying on the bed. She had been drugged, but she was not completely unconscious. I could see her arms trembling from time to time. Her eyes were half-closed with a dazed expression, and she had an enticing look on her gorgeous face. Her clothes were disheveled, but they were still on her body.
She had not been taken advantage of yet, but the way she looked now…
It was far too alluring for my senses, and I could feel my hormones stirring.
