Jace stopped on the stairs, looking at Jaxon.
"Jax," he clipped, drawing Jaxon's enraged expression from Lyra to us. "Come take Melody, I need to check with Akira."
Jaxon hesitated, snarling at Lyra before he jogged to us and took me easily, cradling me in his arms and inhaling my scent, seeming to calm him.
A nervous twist formed in my stomach, thinking about being away from Jace.
About Lyra.
Jaxon led me to Jace's bedroom, the room spotless and unmarked, the bed remade and the smell of jasmine in the air that was soothing.
I still couldn't shake off a feeling of unease.
Lyra's flirting unnerved me, and I couldn't help but worry, unsure....what if... their emotions for me.... weren't as intense as mine for them.
"Jax" I looked up at him through my lashes, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, my love?" He asked, his voice tight, setting me down on the side of the bed gently. He went to the closet, grabbing another pair of pants and put them beside me.
I hesitated as he reached for me, his brows narrowing. "What's wrong, baby?" He asked, crouching and concern etched into his handsome face.
"Who is Lyra?" I whispered, nervous as I looked a him.
He hesitated, his eyes clouding over. He sighed, taking my hand gently. "She's an Omega, a former...friend. But she's not important right now. You are."
I nodded, but the tension lingered.
He tilted his head at me, seeming to see right through me like glass.
"I can ask her to leave." He offered, not seeming to mind at all, evening going to stand up.
I shook my head, feeling like that was too possessive. I didn't like her touching them, that felt a bit crazy enough, but it felt rude to throw her out because she was still into them.
I couldn't blame her. Even staring at Jaxon now, my heat seemed to fight the dulling of the cream, a small cramp in my side forming and I winced, curling my knees into my chest.
"Lay down, my Melody." Jaxon had the balm already in his hand, guiding me to the bed and applied some to my waist and hips, his strong but gentle touch made me sigh.
"That feels nice," I hummed as he massaged my stomach in small circles.
"Good," he grinned down at me. "I need to apply it a bit lower." He chuckled when I blushed, my hands already moving to lower my pants for him.
"All the way off, baby." He encouraged, watching me as I obeyed, the heat warming my thighs and my stomach clenched at the look in his eyes.
I groaned, his hands falling to my thighs and hips, massaging around the exposed area.
I blushed, seeing his eyes intently focused on my core and his hands easing my legs to spread for him as they stayed on soothing my leg muscles.
His eyes darkened, seeing the slick between my thighs, caused by his touch.
He met my eyes after a few moments, smirking as he felt me relax. "Feel better?" He asked, his voice smug but caring.
I nodded, the heat was soothed, the natural desire for such a gorgeous man caring for me so tenderly, the only thing pulsing between my thighs.
Without the heat overwhelming me, I could smell him more calmly, soothing me instead of arousing me completely.
"You smell so good." I sighed, laying back into the bed, letting his scent envelope me.
He sighed, tilting his head as he smiled down at me. "You smell good too," he noted, inhaling pointedly.
I giggled, reaching for him. "You're silly."
He smiled again, taking my hands and wiggled them slightly, making me giggle like a small child. "I think the painkillers are kicking in." He chuckled, "come on, baby girl, pants on." He pulled me to sit up, my head lulling as the room spun.
"Woah." I breathed, Jaxon's hands on my shoulders, steadying me as another chuckle rumbled from him.
"Hey, Jace!" He called as he stood up, a smile in his voice but my head was too heavy to raise to check.
My body felt funny. Like I was acutely aware of all the sensations and smells, but also completely distracted by them, unable to focus on a single one.
Jace voice called back from somewhere outside the room. "What's up?"
Jaxon didn't release me. "I need a hand with our little space cadet." He laughed.
I frowned, knowing he was teasing me.
"Meanie," I grumbled, my mouth feeling full and he laughed again, crouching and cupping my cheeks.
"I think Akira overestimated your tolerance to Wolf pain meds." He explained, smiling at me sweetly. "You're going to feel a little...."
"Funny?" I offered when he hesitated.
He chuckled, stroking my cheek. "Yeah, baby." He smiled as my head flopped against his hand. "You feeling funny?"
I tried to nod, but his strong hand and scent distracted me, I turned my nose into it instead, inhaling.
"That's a yes," he said, helping me turn in the bed and sat me back against the headboard. "Where is this i***t?" He growled, looking over my bandaged leg for a moment while I grabbed the edge of the blanket.
"Jace isn't an idiot." I grumbled at him, pulling the smooth fabric between my fingers.
My head snapped up, catching Jace's scent as he came into the room, seeing me pantsless and playing with the blanket with a weak smile.
He smiled back. "Hey, space cadet." He chuckled as I wobbled, trying to sit up further.
Jaxon growled at me softly, stopping me.
"Pants on, then cuddles."
I sat back, sighing. "Fiiiiine." I crossed my arms and fell sideways. "Ow." I grumbled, my stitches pulling painfully.
Jace's laughter filled the room, coming to stand beside Jaxon and helped dress me in clean clothes of theirs.
I giggled as their hands were gentle and careful. Jace lifted my hips, Jaxon slipping my legs into the pants and pulled them up before they helped me sit up again and pulled off the sweater with blood and the scent of others I turned my nose up at.
Jace chuckled, waving it in front of my face. "Don't like the smell?" He teased, I recoiled, trying to push his hand away but mine felt too heavy, falling short.
"Blah," I growled at him, finding Jaxon waiting with a shirt that smelt of Jace.
I smiled eagerly, trying to raise my arms for him.
"I think she just wants our scents." He said with a hint of pride, making me nod in agreeance in a daze as he pulled my arms and head through the holes and tugged it over my body.
"Smells better." I smiled up at them, my eyes halflidded.
They both chuckled, smiling down at me and guided me back into the middle of the bed, pulling the pillows and lush blankets around me and let me snuggle into them.
Jaxon slipped in bedside me, his arms tucking under me to pull me against his chest. I hummed, fitting comfortably in the crook of his arm. He kissed my forehead. "Sleep, Melody." He whispered.
I shook my head. "Jace?" I sat up, pressing against Jaxon, looking for my other mate, needing his warmth or at least his smile.
He stood in the doorway, shirtless and his back to me, his shoulders tense.
I caught sight of Lyra touching his arm, her hand lingering in a way that made my hackles rise and my hearing peaked.
"Jace, can I have a word with you?" Lyra asked, her voice husky.
Jace's expression remained neutral, but I sensed a flicker of annoyance. "What is it, Lyra?"
"I just wanted to check you didn't need..anything," Lyra said, her eyes locked on Jace.
I felt a growl rise in my throat, my instincts reacting to the threat.
Jaxon hushed me, trying to calm me, but I couldn't help but feel uneasy
"Lyra," Jaxon growled. "We want to be alone with our mate."
"Your mate?" Lyra's gaze snapped to me, her eyes narrowing. "This...thing? She's not even a real werewolf." Her voice was thick with venom and hate.
I flinched, whimpering at her tone and coward again Jaxon.
"Leave." Jace growled, his voice low and deadly in warning, his hands clenched into fists. Lyra hesitated, watching him as if she didn't believe what he said.
He snarled, his back tensing with anger. "Now!"
Lyra squeaked in fear, running away and the door slammed shut.
Jace turned his head towards me, inhaling my scent in the room before he followed.
The sound of the door locking solidly and then him thudding back up the stairs.
I felt a sense of relief wash over me as he stepped into the room, closing the door behind him and striding to me, his eyes soft and needing.
"Melody," he whimpered at me, my heart melting as he climbed into the bed and pulled me into his arms, hugging me.
"I'm sorry about Lyra," he whispered, sorrowful.
"Thane can deal with her punishment." Jaxon clipped, stroking my back in gentle pats. "I want to cuddle with our little Melody."
Jaxon and Jace wrapped themselves around me, holding me close as they soothed my emotions and body.
Jaxon's arms encircled my waist, his hands splayed across my stomach, while Jace cradled my head in his lap, sitting in the bed, his fingers tracing gentle patterns through my hair.
Their warmth and scent enveloped me, calming my racing heart. I felt safe, protected, and loved.
"You're safe now, baby."
"You're with us."
"You're home."
"Our." Their voices a gentle hum in my ears and I sighed.
Jaxon's hand drifted up to cup my breast, his touch light and comforting, while Jace's fingers continued to stroke my hair, lulling me into a state of relaxation. I felt their hearts beating in time with mine, their love and calm energy transferring to me.
As I snuggled deeper into their embrace, I felt my eyelids growing heavy. Their warmth and love had soothed my fears, and I knew I was exactly where I belonged.
With a contented sigh, I let myself drift off to sleep, surrounded by the love and protection of Jaxon and Jace. Their gentle whispers and soft touches continued, a lullaby of devotion that filled my heart with joy and my soul with peace.
"Our sweet Melody." Jace whispered, kissing my cheek as I fell asleep.
"The song to our hearts." Jaxon purred behind me, his lips pressing into my bare neck.
I hummed, smiling as sleep took me.
