I followed Jace into the medical clinic, Akira and a few nurses rushed around, preparing rooms and beds for potential patients.
"Kira," I called, hoping she didn't mind the name. She was a beautiful woman, with long brunette curls that cascaded down her back, rich chocolate skin and almost purple eyes. She gave me a warm smile, coming to join us as King and Thane moved efficiently, loading medical supplies into duffle bags.
"Luna," she greeted, going to bow her head.
I waved her off. "Doc first, Pack member later." I lightly scolded, her plump lips curling in amusement but she nodded.
"How can I help?" She asked then, crossing her arms across her doctors coat and name tag.
I grabbed the slip of medical supplies I'd been making for the vet clinic, handing it to her. "Do we stock any of these?" I asked.
She read over the list, pursing her lips for a moment while she thought. She handed it back, nodding. "Should have everything," she assured, a moment of relief going through me.
Human and animal medications were surprisingly not that dissimilar, but Wolves could tolerate human medications unlike a natural wolf or canine. She showed me the medication room, helping me gather and prepare the ones I thought I'd need. I knew from the contract there were a few Omegas trapped in their Wolf forms due to punishment - forms I could help. Their organ structure was no different than a wolf, I could fix them in Wolf form while Jace handled their human.
"Make sure we have enough bandages and cutting tools," Jace instructed, his voice low and urgent.
"Got it," King replied, expertly packing the bags.
I began checking the medical equipment, ensuring everything was functional. Jace joined me, his hands brushing mine as we worked together.
"We'll need more splints and I'll probably need suture kits," I said, mentally going over the supplies.
Thane nodded, adding them to the list, Mabel moving between all of us, double checking all the bags and listing off everything we were loading up.
King handed me a portable defibrillator. "This one's fully charged."
I took it, checking the device. "Good. Hopefully we won't need it,"
Jace's eyes met mine, taking the machine from me. "You checked over the map?"
"If we go in from the southeast, we'll slip in between the Omega housing and the medical wing," I said, feeling our bond ripple with admiration and love. I gave him a tight smile.
Thane shouldered the heavy bag, King checked the oxygen tanks, and we were almost set.
"Mabel, can you bring the additional medical supplies from the storage room?" Jace asked.
Mabel nodded, hurrying off.
"Let's move for meet up," Jace said, his voice firm.
We loaded into the Bus, a large army vehicle that was refitted to be a makeshift medical bay on wheels, equipped with medical supplies, six fold down beds and a few precautions in case.
Thane took drivers seat, King and Mabel beside him. Jace and I climbed into the back, sitting on one of the beds, Akira handed us the last of the bags, Jace putting them into overhead nets.
"I'll be waiting with three teams ready," she said, her hand on the thick back door, looking at Jace and I.
We nodded, Jace thanking her.
"We'll let you know if we're coming in hot," King called from the front, his voice cheerful.
Akira grimaced, paling slightly but tried to give him a thumbs up, forcing a smile. "Please do!" Muttering under her breath then as she closed the door, "unlike last time, jackass."
King heard her, chuckling and Thane started the Bus.
We pulled into a steel farm like garage, ten minutes past the Packhouse. Men and women in black cargo pants and short sleeve shirts moved around, carrying various weapons or tech items in their hands or slung from their waists or on their shoulders, a low chatter filling the room.
"This is a command post," Jace explained as he opened the back door, helping me out. "We need to change, bite proof jackets and boots." He led me to a rack of clothes, grabbing a few and then pulled me into a small changing room that was wedged in the corner.
We began to get changed, Jace crouching to his knees when I pulled off my jeans, blushing at him while he smirked, pulling out my Heat cream.
"Smart idea," I muttered, a little embarrassed at my own s****l thoughts. Jace chuckled, starting to run the balm into my stomach and thighs, teasing around my underwear, soothing the slow building warmth that was starting to form. It wasn't so bad now, though I think without Zena or the balm, it would be worse.
Zena snickered. You'd have given in well and truly by now.
I scowled at her. Are you calling me a prude? I clipped playfully.
A little, yes. She nodded, a Wolfy grin on her face making me roll my eyes and chuckle.
"Sweetheart?" Jace's sweet voice pulled me from my thoughts as he rose to his full height over me, his eyes dark. "You should get dressed, I might take you here if you're not soon." He warned, my cheeks heating at the thought of something so...public.
He grinned, enjoying making me blush and I changed into the clothes, leaving him in the room to change while I went to find Jaxon.
"Loddie," Jaxon's voice called, making me turn with a broad smile - I hated the nickname Mel, but no one had every called me anything different.
He smirked at me from across the room, standing by a table of guns and ammunition, curling his fingers at me to come to him.
I danced across the room, nodding my head in greeting at those I passed, but my eyes stayed on Jaxon.
His tshirt and pants hugged his lean but muscular frame, the rune on his cheek standing out as his hair was slicked back out off his face. My mouth watered and Zena purred lustfully.
Why are they so tempting in times of trouble? She mused, her voice dreamy.
I snickered. It's an apex predator thing - we like seeing them display strength. Wait...why am I explaining this? It's your fault.
Zena snorted. Yeah, sure it is. I'm not eyefucking our mate in a room full of people - you are, miss Loddie. I hated she was right, but when my hand found Jax's and he gave me a small possessive and lustful growl as he leaned down to press a hard kiss to my lips, I didn't care.
I kissed him back, enjoying the low groan that left his throat when I did before we pulled away from each other. Our eyes locked, a smirk curling his delicious lips before as he glanced at the table beside us. "I take it you're that kind of country girl," he said hinting to the guns making me giggle.
I turned, looking across the various weapons before I selected two I knew I could use and carry with ease.
Jaxon chuckled roughly, his eyes darkening as I held a semi-automatic rifle and a handgun for a back up. Jace joined us, raising a brow at my choices and gestured to the rifle.
"You can use that?" He asked, intrigued and curious. I grinned, nodding.
"Pretty good shot too," I said, proudly. "Four time champ since I was fifteen at the county fair shoot offs,"
Jaxon chuckled again, waving me to follow him.
We stepped into a long room with a thick door and a small divider at one end of a long hall with black matting at the back and a standing paper target.
Jax gestured at the target, "Show me what you got, little Loddie," he purred at me. I shouldered the weapon and fired three shots, swapping to the handgun and fired three more.
Jax pressed the button that moved the target to the shooting platform to be swapped out, raising a brow when it stopped in front of us.
"Damn," Jace muttered, making me chuckle and see Jaxon's eyes darken when he looked at me.
"I'm keeping this as a reminder," he said, his voice low, taking down the target with four centre mass shots that overlapped to make a large hole and two overlapping head shots.
I tilted my head curiously. "Reminder for what?" I asked.
Jaxon grinned wickedly, tugging me into him and I felt his arousal pressed tightly against his pants. "For how much that turned me on," he growled, my body shuddering and warming with need I had to pull away or I'm worried I'd get distracted by him and the Casanova behind me who cupped my ass when I stepped back.
"This is my reminder," he purred in my ear, another shudder going through me as he squeezed my ass and inhaled my scent of arousal that filled the room. Both of them released a small groan, tilting their heads back and inhaling deeply.
I inhaled as well, letting their forest and smokey scents fill my lungs and fuelled Zena, flooding my body with her strength and I felt my vision sharpen as my eyes darkened, meeting the eyes of my mates.
They both smirked at me, pulling me out of the firing range. Jaxon fitted me with a bite proof jackets, hip holster and adjusted the rifle sling to hang across my back.
I grabbed the collar of his jacket, tugging him down to my lips and kissed his roughly.
I love you, my Alpha. I said to him, hearing his growl of approval as he pushed back.
I love you. Be safe, my little Flame.
I pulled away, giving him a smile. "You be safe," I countered childishly, making him smirk, his eyes glistening with love.
We stared at each other a moment longer before understanding pulsed and I turned away as he raised his head, address the Warriors. "Let's move out!" The room burst with tension, anticipation and determination as we loaded up and set off.
