Chapter 13: Rudi UnravelsMorning finally came, but still, the storm raged on outside their room window. Lying on his side, Rudi stared at the snow blowing past the glass. They weren’t getting out of here this morning, that was for sure. He remembered the food in his bag. Carefully, he slipped out of bed, but Syd cracked an eye open, anyway.
“Oh, man,” Syd said, sitting up and looking at the window. His black hair was messy and there was warmth in his gray-blue eyes. “I wonder how much snow has piled up around the motel by now. At this rate, we’ll have to dig ourselves out of this place. I don’t think we’ll find the car.”
