Ali’s POV
Tugging the blanket snug underneath my chin, I listen with bated breath for Alpha Ralph to move inside of his room.
This has been, by far, the longest night of my life.
I remained on high alert, every single sound, real or imagined, making me jump, worried that I was found out.
Even when I would finally fall asleep, a tiny squeak of the wind outside would jerk me awake and I would lay frozen, just listening.
Worried that Alpha Ralph had picked up on my scent and would barge into the room, declare ‘mate’, and claim me right then and there…
Worried…fantasized…maybe a little bit of both.
Turning my head to look at the clock, I decide that it is finally an appropriate hour for me to get out of bed, since I cannot lay here for even one second longer.
