Poisoning

Jessica’s POV "Grandma!" Eric called out to her, anxiously. Grandma suddenly fell to the ground, her eyelids rolling back, and her body uncontrollably convulsing. Eric was taken aback. Grandma had always been healthy and never liked this before. The closest person, Jessica, was stunned for a second before quickly reacting. She instinctively squatted down to help. Another figure moved faster than her, like a gust of wind. Jessica felt a hard bump on her back and she lost her balance and fell to her knees, hurting herself in the process. When she looked up, she saw Eric's worried face. “Oh, I am sorry Jessica….”She ignored him and quickly helped Grandma Collins up. His deep voice sounded cold, "Robert, call an ambulance!" Robert immediately made the call. The servants rushed in and hovered near Grandma Collins. Jessica was pushed outside, frowning at the busy servants, who were making matters worse and clearly not helping. "Get towels and water quickly!" Jessica said in a clear and calm voice when she saw foam overflowing from Grandma Collin’s lips and urgently instructed the servants. She just couldn’t take it anymore now. She just wanted to save that old woman and did not care about other things. But due to the chaos, no one heard her. The servants in the house were all flustered. This was the first time they had encountered this situation, and they were at a loss. At this point, Jessica gave up on being gentle and shouted at all of them "You're only going to hurt Grandma Collins like this!" Jessica got up from the ground with a Jessica had already figured out Grandma Collin's symptoms and knew that if they continued like this, something would go wrong. "Come here!" A low, magnetic voice sounded. Eric looked at Jessica, his deep eyes calmer than usual. Since Jessica was a doctor, she could of course help Grandma. Jessica was surprised, But, as a medical practitioner, Jessica had no intention of just sitting back and watching. So when Eric spoke, she went straight up to him, “Grandma has been poisoned. Let me help her. If we are any late we will lose her.” Jessica said in a hurried tone, her eyes glistening with worry. Eric coldly shouted at the servants, "Get out of the way!" Jessica froze, in the face of Eric's strong aura, and they could only reluctantly step back. Jessica gratefully glanced at Eric and gave him a small smile full of determination. Worry and fear of losing his family member were evident in his eyes. Jessica's heart filled with an unknown emotion and with more determination she turned her back on him, but not before saying "Grandma will be fine, Trust me." Her gaze was cool and her voice was gentle, exuding a sense of confidence. Eric suddenly realized what she meant, but when he looked again, Jessica had already lowered her head and started to administer the first aid that she had ordered the servants to bring. The Collins also had a mini hospital room, where Jessica could even perform surgery if needed too. Seeing that the night was getting colder and windier, Jessica wanted to shift the old woman inside, in fear of making matters worse due to the cold. “Help me get Grandma Collins inside the house, in a spacious room. “ she said to the servants. But it was Eric, who quickly picked the old woman princess style and walked inside the mansion, with steady steps. Jessica scurried behind him like a squirrel. Eric placed Grandma on a spacious bed, Jessica looked around, trying to find where the washroom was so that she could wash her hands properly to treat the patient, but she was amazed to see that they were in a room fully equipped with medical essentials, machines and everything that a small scale hospital could have. After gently placing Grandma on the bed, Eric turned towards her and said in a very serious tone, “The medical room is fully equipped and you can have access to everything you need.” With that he folded his hands and just stood beside the bed, holding onto his Grandma’s hand. Jessica was numb and a bit lost with the extravagance of the mansion, but Eric’s voice just now somehow calmed her down and she shook out of the stupor and immediately got into action. Her dress was getting in her way so she tore the hem with the scalpel nearby. She received a chuckle from Eric, but he quickly covered it up with a serious look. The poison was scary, but as long as it was handled properly, there was no danger to the patient's life. However, if someone acts like what the servants did, downstairs, then it was another story. After the situation here was under control, she wanted to have a nice long chat with all the servants about first aid. When Jessica enters the state of treatment, she becomes completely focused and ignores everything around her. She becomes engrossed in the work at her hand. After all it was a life and death situation. A war with death was not an easy task. Eric’s POV Eric was thinking about how Jessica was willing to save his Grandma without any hesitation and how she looked at him when he was worried about his Grandma, her consoling words…..’ Trust me’. His heart was filled with warm honey. He wasn’t actually worried about Grandma as normal poisons weren’t fatal, it would surely hurt, but it was nothing serious. Due to his worry for his Grandma, he had forgotten about these details. Now that he was calm again, he finally realized that his fears were unfounded. His thoughts were back to his little mate, who was hovering around his Grandma with some needles in her hand. She was extremely tired. Her little face said it all. But there was also a cute little frown when she was checking the salines and tubes now. He was busy admiring his busy mate when suddenly he heard a loud cough from his Grandma. At this moment, Jessica said to Eric without looking up, "Step back, don't crowd around, keep the air flowing!" Jennifer, the servant who was standing aside and helping Jessica in whatever she needed, widened her eyes. She quickly took a few steps behind, and Eric did the same. He didn’t want to delay her treatment at all. The bed suddenly turned messy, when Grandma suddenly started struggling. Her arms were clenched in the sheets and she was coughing loudly. Suddenly black liquid started flowing out of Grandma Collin’s mouth. Her body was trembling visibly. Everyone was stunned and nervous. Even Eric had a frown on his face. Only Jessica stood there calmly, breathing heavily as if she had just run 2 miles. Then to Eric’s surprise, Jessica pulled out her high heels, which she still had on and threw them away without second thoughts, and started preparing an injection. Jessica first loosened Grandma’s clothing, to let some air pass through. Then she took a pillow to cushion her. Jessica then took some icy cold water and soaked a towel in it. Then she took the towel and started wiping Grandma’s body, to lower the temperature. Watching the old woman's trembling lips, she narrowed her eyes and quickly stuffed a small pill in her mouth. When she withdrew her hand, she furrowed her brows. While Eric was observing all her expressions. But then he heard her saying something. Though she was whispering to herself, he could still hear it due to his werewolf hearing. “I have already purged out the poison and there are no toxins in her body anymore. I have clearly treated all the symptoms and also stopped the fever. But, I still can’t find out what poison is this. I will gather some as a sample and test it out.” That was what she was saying. Hearing this Eric felt relieved. Though he knew she would be fine, after all, she was blood-related. How could he not worry? He neared the bed, and as soon as he did, he smelled something highly corrosive and toxic. Which was very familiar to him. It was black-silver that was the only poison that could kill werewolves. Thank God, they had Jessica at home. Otherwise what would have happened was not something he wanted to think about. This wasn’t possible, how could something like this could appear in his own house and in his Grandma’s body? His eyes were red and flared. He clenched his hands to hide his anger when he suddenly noticed that his Grandma was trying to open her eyes. And she did in a minute. Instead of thinking about what could have happened and all the ifs, he ignored them and focused on his mate and Grandma. But not before he mind linked Robert to start the investigation. “Welcome back Grandma.” He said to his Grandma, smirking at her. Trying to relieve her stress. He knew she could also smell the black-silver and glanced at him as if asking who treated her and what happened. But Eric simply kept his hand on Jessica and glanced at his Grandma saying she was the one who save her. Jessica took the old woman’s hand and felt her pulse, only after checking it twice did she let go, with a sigh. “Grandma, you are fine now, your body needs plenty of rest and nourishment to recover as you have lost some blood and are also feeling weak. Talking will also be difficult for you, so you need to rest. I will get the servants to clean this bed and area for you.” Jessica explained softly, to Grandma. Her previous actions were precise and efficient, making her seem very professional. Eric was feeling very proud and happy about having her as his mate. She was so awesome. This was the girl who saved him back then, and now saved his Grandma. He wanted to show her off to everyone. He was convinced by her abilities. Eric's gaze remained fixed on her, and he noticed that she was arching her back slightly. She must be tired. Thinking of this Eric suddenly saw the time. It was 4 am. They started the treatment somewhere around 10 pm. With her human strength, she was able to hold on till now was already a great feat. She alone had done too much work last night. She definitely needs her rest now. “Grandma, Jessica is probably tired. I will take her to our room now. you should rest properly. I will drop by after some time.” He kissed her on her forehead and then picked Jessica up, in a princess style. She wanted to struggle, but he silenced her with “Let me do this for you” and she gave up. He brought her to his own room and placed her gently on the bed. As soon as her back touched the bed, she moaned and it immediately ignited a fire in him. But he did not react or show it on his face as he could see the pain in her eyes. She rolled on her side and directly closed her eyes. He was about to cover her up with a blanket when he saw her rumbled and messy dress, that must have been truly uncomfortable right? He bent down and removed her dress. Although she was still wearing her panties and bra, he couldn’t help but salivate by looking at such a delicious scene. He was Eric Collins, who could have anything he want, so why was he resisting now? He covered her body with his and rained kisses all over her body. When he reached her neck and kissed her there, he suddenly remembered his mark. He quickly wiped the skin there with his thumbs and he could clearly see his mark under that white powdery stuff. So she had hidden it with makeup. Feeling his body heat up again, he kissed her on the neck gently. But she still hadn’t reacted. She was sleeping soundly. Her lips which looked like rose petals, were open a bit. The scene was irresistible, but he also didn’t want to disturb his sleeping mate too much. So he decided to take a cold shower. After his shower he brought a wet towel and wiped her body clean, then he unclasped her bra and kept it aside. He immediately made her wear his own white T-shirt and covered her up with a blanket. Looking at her peaceful sleeping self, Eric also gave a yawn and snuggled beside her, hugging her body to his and sleeping the most peaceful sleep of his life.
