“Heads up, missy. I’ll only be gone for a few weeks, but I promised to return when I settle everything.” Cynthia lifted Isabella’s face, spreading her smile across her lips. They were at the airport to send her best friend back to New York for the emergency Cynthia had received regarding her work. Isabella let out a heavy sigh. She had been thinking about another plan, perhaps she could call it a stupid plan–but she was eager to come with her. “Well, I, I made some changes in my mind.” She began, trailing off as her eyes looked discreetly into Anne. The woman insisted on coming with them to say goodbye. She knew it too. “What do you mean, changes?” Cynthia faced her, filled with bafflements. She would gaze at Anne with a big question mark inside her head. But both women chuckled.
