Stream of light that sacks darkness dearing with twinkle stars.
It's evening time, Daniel just return from his part time work and made his way into the house.
"Welcome Daniel"Tammy said to her brother as soon as he enter the house.
"Is mum back?" He asked removing his shoes.
"Yes,she is back but Chris is not yet home" Tammy replied him.
"At this hour? It is late already, But why is he still not home yet" Daniel said looking at his wristwatch.
"I don't know" Tammy replied and continue with the program she was watching on the TV before Daniel arrive.
Just then their mum emerge from the kitchen with a angry face.
"Mum" Daniel called out to him mum on seeing her expression "What is wrong, And Tammy said Chris is not back yet."
"Yes he is not Daniel,call him now, his friend call me when I was at work that he didn't show up for class." Mrs Adams explained.
"What!" Daniel and Tammy shouted.
"Where could he be then" Tammy said looking at their mum and Daniel.
Immediately Daniel call him but couldn't get through to him, he tried again but still not available.
"His number isn't_"
Before Daniel could finish his sentences,Chris entered the house.
"Where were you" Mrs Adams asked him angrily as soon as he enter the house.
"Sorry mum,I had to go for extra lesson since It will be exam period soon" Chris lied to his mum not knowing his friend called to tell her about his absence in school.
"What" Mrs Adams exclaimed.
"Liar" Tammy mumbled.
"Your friend called mum you weren't at school,so stop with the lying and tell me where you went
to instead of college" Daniel explained.
Instead of Chris to reply his brother,he make his way towards his room.
"Chris!!" Mrs Adams shouted but Chris didn't answer and enter his room.
"That brat" she mumbled.
"Mum, I will go to him,he might have a reason he didn't go to college" Daniel told his mum and
went towards Chris's room.
"What stupid excuse would he give for skipping school" Mrs Adams shouted.
"Mum calm down,okay, Let's go and prepare dinner" Tammy said and pull their mum towards
the kitchen.
Daniel get to Chris's door but it was locked, he knocked twice and Chris answered him.
"Who is that" Chris asked from inside his room.
"Open up Chris" Daniel replied.
"Come in" Chris said and Daniel entered his room.
"Chris, what is wrong with you, huh, you have never been like this, so tell me what is wrong"
Daniel said as he sit on his brother's bed beside him.
Suddenly Chris burst into tears and Daniel become even more worried.
"In the morning,I was about to tell you something right before you hurry to school" Chris said.
"Yes...Wait" Daniel said shifting on the bed "What does that have to do with you skipping school?." Daniel asked.
"Many things Dan"Chris said amidst tears
"Okay, now tell me everything" Daniel replied in a worried tone.
"Promise me you won't tell anyone" Chris said repeating what he said in the morning.
"Stop with this promising and tell me what the f**k is going on" Daniel shouted.
"Stop shouting" Chris said wiping off his tears "I don't want mum or Tammy to hear you so I won't complicate the matter more."
"Okay tell me now" Daniel whispered.
"I don't want to go to school anymore, I'm fine living here with you, Mum and Tammy, If I go to
school Daniel, I will get killed and I don't want to die Daniel, I don't want to die" Chris explained as he start crying again.
"What!" Daniel exclaimed "What do you mean by that, Who is after your life, I mean explain more
further Chris" Daniel said raising his voice.
"Please don't shout and let me explain further" Chris said glancing at his door room.
"Okay I'm listening" Daniel said impatiently.
"I'm getting some sort of threat at school by some guys and I was even scraped with a knife on
my leg by them last week when I was coming home from college" Chris said showing his leg to
his brother "At college, I'm being intimidated and bullied by my course mates and some would even say it was mum who murder dad" Chris explained.
"What the f**k!" Daniel said angrily.
"I am facing a lot of more horrible things at college and I don't want to tell you guys but now that I'm being threatened with death, I could not keep mute anymore" Chris explained further
"Those that are threatening you, Are they from your school?" Daniel asked.
"No they are not" Chris replied.
"They are not?!" Daniel exclaimed.
" But how_Wait how did you get involve with them to the extent of them threatening your life"
Daniel said.
"It is_" Before Chris could answer,Tammy entered the room.
"Mum is calling you both for dinner" She said.
"Is she calm now" Chris asked Tammy.
"Sorry?" Tammy said eyeing Chris.
"Tammy!" Daniel said holding her hand.
"What!, he skipped school and mum just ask a simple and direct question but you walk away from her and you expect her to be calm, that is total nonsense and even it's stupidity" Tammy
said angrily and walk out of Chris's room.
"Forget about what she said, she is just annoyed" Daniel said.
"It is fine, I get it, let's go before mum start shouting, I don't want her blood pressure rising up
again" Chris said making his way towards the door followed by Daniel.
As they get to the dinning area,Tammy and their mum have start eating.
"Mum I'm sorry for skipping school and walking out on you" Chris apologize to his mum.
"Mum please he is sorry" Daniel begged their mum on his brother's behalf.
"Okay, but where were you if you didn't go to college"Mrs Adams asked.
"I was at a library" Chris said {he was at a library truthfully}
"Are you lying again?" Tammy asked.
"No" Chris shouted.
"That alright guys,let's eat" Daniel said.
After they finish eating, their mum went to her room to lay and Tammy went to the kitchen to wash the dishes. Daniel and Chris retired to the sitting room to continue their discussion.
"So tell me what the matter is" Daniel whispered
"It all started with Sarah" Chris told his brother.
"What! A girl?" Daniel shouted and Tammy hurried out of the kitchen.
"What is wrong Daniel?" Tammy asked.
"Nothing" Daniel smiled and Tammy went back to the kitchen.
"Who is Sarah?" Daniel asked
"My best friend and she is also my crush" Chris said in a very sad tone.
"We can't discuss this here, let continue in your room" Daniel said and they both went to Chris
room.
