Sara’s conditions

“You look well fed! I can say from your round ass and your well-shaped breasts girl! Why do you need a job?” Mrs Cooper asked Alicia after examining her for more than a few minutes.
“I had money left by my parents but now I have lost them!” Alicia has already gone through all the possible questions in her mind and came prepared with the answers!
“Hmph! So, what can you do? Can you handle two or three together?” Mrs Cooper asked her but she couldn’t comprehend what she asked.
“I didn’t understand Madam!”
“Mrs Cooper! Everyone here calls me Mrs Cooper! You are attractive! I can use that! So, can you handle more than one man?” Mrs Cooper asked casually.
“No! You are mistaken! I am looking for a decent job! I can clean, do the laundry! I can also help in the kitchen!” Alicia said gulping!
“Huh! She says a decent job!” Mrs Cooper mocked chuckling!
“I can really work hard Mrs Cooper. Please I beg you! I need a job!” Alicia pleaded.
“Mrs Cooper, I am sure she will put in real efforts and work honestly since she is new to working?” Tommy indicated something which only Mrs Cooper understood.
After remaining quiet for some more time she said, “Ok. Come from tomorrow! You will do cleaning and help in the kitchen. I will pay you only 200 Baht a month and food! You will have to be here from ten in the morning to eight in the evening! Sometimes you may have to stay late and you will get paid for extra hours but if you think of excuses to avoid over time, you will lose your job! Do you understand??”
“Yes, I understand and thank you Mrs Cooper!” Saying this Alicia left with drumming heart! She has succeeded in getting a job, however it is! Now she has to slowly get to know Mathew!

Sara was pacing in the cottage, fidgeting with her fingers and looking at the door once every five seconds! She looked at the clock. Three hours have passed and it was time for lunch but Alicia was not back from the castle yet! If she is not back in another hour, Sara made up her mind to call Juliana and tell her everything!
She was now really scared and worried for Alicia but fortunately the door opened and Alicia walked in!
Sara exhaled loudly and sat on the sofa with a thud! Her body went limp as the tension washed away after seeing Alicia safe and sound.
“Thanks God! You are safe Alice! I was already worrying about you! I would have called Juliana had you been not home in another hour!”
“Relax Sara! I told you nothing will happen to me! I will return in a few hours.” Alicia walked to the kitchen and came back with a bottle of cold water. She sat on the opposite sofa and drank almost half of the water from the bottle!
“So, what happened?”
Wiping her lips with the back of her hand, Alicia said, “Don’t freak out!”
Sara straightened and bent to listen attentively!
“I got a job of cleaning at the castle! I will have to work in the castle from morning ten to evening eight!” Alicia said.
“And how long are you planning to work? More important question is how long do you plan to stay here?” Sara asked.
Alicia sighed and shrugging her shoulders replied, “I don’t know yet Sara. I don’t have any idea!”
Sara sat crossing her arms. She kept pondering on all the possibilities, while Alicia leaned back on the sofa exhausted!
After ten minutes of silence, finally Sara said in a firm voice, “Listen Alice! I am not comfortable with your decision of working in that building full of criminals!”
“Please Sara!” Alicia interrupted.
Sara raised her palm and stopped her.
“Wait! Let me finish!”
Alicia nodded and closed her mouth.
Sara then continued in the same tone, “I told Juliana that you are happy here and you have smiled for the first time here on this island, after Damien passed away! I requested them to allow you to stay here for a few months! I kept the real facts about Mathew from them! And not only that, I have not told them anything about the incidents on the beach, in the alley and that happened in the castle! They are just thinking that Damien is here and he has lost his memories! I can’t bring myself to imagine what will happen when your brother comes to know that so much happened but I didn’t act like a responsible person and inform them!! Have you ever thought about this?? My position in all this? I have stayed back with you here, leaving my brother in Manchester! Now, I give you two options, whether you like it or not! First, you will have two months to know about Mathew and whatever you need to know and then whether you succeed or not, you will return with me to Manchester and never look back! Else, the second option, which is, I call Juliana right away and tell her everything!”
Alicia frowned and mumbled, “But Sara, in just two months, how will I…”
Sara stood up and cutting her midsentence said with finality, “I am sorry Alicia! These are the only two options you have! I cannot hide things from your family like this! Now you decide and let me know what you want to do!”
Alicia sighed rubbing her face with her palms and replied sadly, “Ok. If after two months I don’t find my answers, I will still return to Manchester and never look back!”

Alicia has started working in the Castle! Everyday she reached in time and worked hard! Mrs Cooper mainly gave her tasks in the kitchen and sometimes cleaning the outer wing of the castle which consisted mainly of the foyer, a few guest rooms and the common corridors. Alicia never got a scope to visit Mathew in a week! Everyday she expected that she will see Mathew but it never happened!
Nissa was responsible for the east wing on the first floor where Mathew spent most of his time! Even the meetings were held in a room there!
It was the seventh day evening. Alicia has just finished her shift when Ruby told her that Mrs Cooper was looking for her!
“You asked for me Mrs Cooper?” Alicia entered the small room where Mrs Cooper lived.
She was sitting on a chair and stitching a dress. She looked up and said, “Yes. Please sit.”
Alicia sat on a chair near her. She was afraid that Mrs Cooper will ask her to leave the job since she had no experience and has never worked really in her whole life!
She gulped and asked, “Did I do any mistake?”
Mrs Cooper narrowed her eyes to take a long look and then chuckled, “No girl! I called you for some other matter.” Alicia was relieved for a moment.
“Nissa had to leave for her village, because her mother passed away! I need you to work in the east wing from tomorrow. You need to clean Mistress Charlotte’s room, feed her and clean her! Can you do that?”
“Mistress Charlotte?” Alicia asked in a dry voice which sounded more like a whisper! Hearing her name, hit a nerve!
“Yes, Master Mathew’s wife and Badshah’s daughter. But you have to be very careful! She has just come out of coma and she is partially paralysed! She can’t talk clearly as well! Can you do the task or should I ask someone else?” Mrs Cooper asked.
“No! I can do it! I will be careful, don’t worry!” Alicia replied quickly. She was happy that finally she will be seeing Mathew the next day!
That night Alicia couldn’t sleep! Her mind was full of anticipations! What will happen when she meets Mathew? What will she ask him? How will she remind him of her? She then came up with a plan! She decided to wear the golden locket with the golden chain and the yellow dress Damien gave her! That was also the dress she wore on the day of the accident in the sea!
Maybe if Damien sees her in the dress, his memories will come back!
