-Nathan- Jax was swimming in the pool. I had some work to do, but Megan’s words about him needing a friend lingered in my mind. She was spot-on. I could see it for myself. Yet, I wasn’t quite sure how he needed me. Did he require someone to be firm with him? Did he simply need company so he wouldn’t feel alone? Or maybe he needed a drinking companion? A drinking companion! That was it, I realized. Jax and I would go out, and I would get him so drunk that he’d finally open up about what was troubling him.
