chapter 6

The next day, it was a little boring. Only thing that was missing was a certain person wasn't at school today. When we y'all were in lunch, I saw the rest of the Cullen's but not him. The short hair girl and the big buff guy looked over at me for a moment then looked away. I looked away from them as well when the gang had brought up a trip to the beach. Bella said no, she had things to do and I said sure.

By the time Friday came, he still wasn't here. I could tell Bella was a little hurt but I didn't really care. He wasn't my type.

After school, I rode with Jessica to La Push Beach. It was sunny out for once since I've been here. Not raining, a little cool though. I sat on the hood was her car as I watched the boys run out into the water to surf. I shook my head as I watched them dive into water with their boards. Jess came over to me to zip her up, then grabbed her board and ran out herself. As I was laying back against the windshield, to get some rays, when I heard someone come walk by and tapped the hood.

I jumped a little to the sound, and looked over to see who it was. It was Jacob and a few of his friends. They were snickering some.

"Jake!" I said a little loud.

"Hey, where's Bells?" He asked.

"Home. She didn't want to come."

"Oh, that's okay. I'll see her around."

"Yeah. So who's your friends?" I asked.

"This is Embry," he pointed to his right to a young man with long wavy hair. "And this is Jared and Quil." He pointed to each one. Quil had short crew cut, had a little belly. And Jared's hair was mid way, around his shoulders. "Guys this is Kathleen, Bella's little sister."

"Bella has a sister?" Embry asked.

"Y'all know Bella?" I asked.

"Some. We saw her when she was young, back when her and her mom came to the rev. I didn't talk to her much. That was mostly Jake's thing." Embry said.

"Oh, so do y'all have girlfriends?"

"Jared does. Or sorta does. They see each other from time to time."

"Hey, we've been together for awhile. Just taking it slow." Jared said.

"Yeah, yeah. So what are you doing? You gonna get in the water?" Jake asked.

"Yeah are you getting in the water?" Quil and Embry asked?

"Nope. Its too cold out for all that. I'm not brave enough like them."

"Yeah, it is pretty cold." Embry asked.

"5 bucks and they'll be out in no time." I had said to them.

They all laughed and agreed, then we shook hands. As we talked some and watched the others have fun. About 10 minutes later Jessica and Mike came out then a few minutes later the others join. Jared and Quil handed me $5 each.

"Damnit." Jared said. "Here, kid." He said as he handed me his money.

"Your gonna have to wait til I get money from my mom." Embry said.

"Same with me, Kat. Dad's supposed to give me some money to get some parts, I'll give it to you then."

"I'll hold y'all to that." I told them as I put the money in my pocket.

When Jessica and Mike came over to us, Mike looked a little off like he was a little jealous that there were boys hanging around me.

"Hey, god the water is cold." Jess said. "Who's your friends?" She asked.

"Oh, this is a friend of mine and Bella's; Jacob and his friends. Embry, Quil, and Jared." I said.

"Sup." They all said.

"Oh, cool. Thanks for keeping my girl company while I was out." Mike said.

"Your girl?" Embry said.

"Yeah." Mike said then looked at me.

"We're not dating, if that's what your wondering." I said laughing some.

"Oh, okay. Cool." Embry said.

I saw him smile some when I looked over at him. I smiled back.

As the Jessica and them took off their wet suits and dried off some. After about 5 more minutes Jake and his friends left. Embry wrote down his number and told me to call him sometime so we could hang. I told him sure. But I would have to see.

After they left, Jessica brought me home and told me to have a nice weekend. I told her the same.

Once I got inside, Charlie and Bella were sitting in the living room watching some game. Bella was doing her homework.

"Hey, I'm home." I called out.

"Hey, how was the beach?" Charlie asked.

"It was cool. Too cold to get into the water though but that didn't stop them."

"Yeah, people around here don't care if its cold. Its a work out for them." He had said.

"Oh Bella, Jake asked about you. Him and his friends ended up showing up."

"Oh, he did?" She asked.

"Yeah. He said he see you around. I met some of his friends."

"Which ones?" Charlie asked.

"Umm, Jared, Quil, and Embry."

"Oh, Quil is a nice kid. Embry is okay. And Jared, he's a little off. I don't like a few of his friends. I forget their names."

"Oh, well Embry, he seem nice. He gave me his number and told me to call him sometime." I said.

Bella looked at me and smiled a little, I rolled my eyes at her.

"Oh, did he now?" Charlie asked.

"Yeah, but I don't know. He seems cool." I said. "I guess he's okay for a friend."

"Yeah," Charlie said. "So Bella anyone catching your eye?"

"No," she said awful fast.

I snickered some because I know that's a lie. She glared at me but the way Charlie is sitting, he didn't catch a thing.

"Awe too bad." Charlie said.

I snickered some more, getting some more glares from her. Charlie chuckled some as well. Making her blush. I smiled at her before turning to head upstairs.

I went into my room to get out of the clothes I was in then went into Bella's to get some night clothes. Then I went into the bathroom to take a nice hot bath to warm up some.

After about 25 minutes, I got out, dried off and got dressed then head off to bed.

The next morning, I got up to Charlie coming into the room. I rolled over and covered my head with the covers to try to go back to sleep.

"I'm sorry." He said. "Just getting my stuff to leave."

"Your heading to work on a Saturday? I thought your off on the weekends?" I asked as I sat up some to whip off the sleep from my eyes.

"I am off. Billy called and asked if I wanted to go fishing with him and Harry Clearwater."

"Oh, have fun." I said.

Then looked over at the alarm clock. It was 730 am. I grunted some then rolled over to my side.

"Sorry kid. Hope you can go back to sleep. I'll be back tonight. Are you or Bella going any where today?"

"No, I don't think so. If we do, I'll leave a note or if I do I'll tell Bella and leave a note as well so if she forgets to tell you." I had said.

"Okay, I mean I don't care if you go anywhere. Just be back in a decent hour." He said as he found what he was looking for then head towards the door. "Not to late though. And he careful if you leave. Its a little crazy out there around this time of year. With it being cool, there idiots out there that like do be extremely stupid."

"Will do, dad. And you too. Catch some good fish to eat."

"I will do." He said then walked out.

I sighed as he left. I'm awake now, so what to do is the thing.

I got up, grabbed my bedding and went downstairs to wash them. Grabbed some of Charlie's dirty crap and washed them with my bedding or tried to. As the wash was going, I thought I might as well start cleaning some. There was some dishes from him and Bella, so I washed thought and dried them and put them up. I cleaned the stove and inside of the oven. I mopped the kitchen and the living room floor. I dusted some, where I could see dust. I folded up Charlie's bedding and put them in the hall closet. Guessing he forgot or was in a hurry to leave.

When it comes to fishing, there's nothing to it with him. He's in the zone for it. He has to go. No matter what kind of weather it is out there.

Once I was done with all that, the washer went off so I put those in the dryer and started another load. After that, I sat at the table thinking what I could do for the day.

When I saw it was little after 8 am, I thought maybe Bella was up. When I ran half way up the stairs, she was coming out of her room, to go into the bathroom.

"Oh, your wake?" I asked.

"Yea, how long you've been awake?" She asked as she sat on the toilet to pee.

"Since 730. Dad woke me up on an accident." I said.

"He got fishing with his friends?" Bella asked once she flushed the toilet.

"Yeah." I said then we went into room. I laid back on her bed. "You don't have plans today do you?" I asked her.

"No, I have tons of homework, I need to do. What about you?"

"Well not really. I've cleaned almost everything downstairs. I started a few loads. I was thinking, I could call Embry and see what's he up to and if he wants to hang. Do you mind I'd I borrow the truck?"

"No, be my guest." She told me as she went to her jacket and handed me the keys.

I smiled at her then hugged her.

I left her room to head back downstairs, to call Embry. I had his number on the fridge, so if I was gone and over there, Charlie could call and ask for me. It rung a few times before someone finally answered. It was a woman.

"Hello?" She answered. She sounded like I woke her up.

"Hi, did I wake you?" I asked.

"No, I've been up." She said.

"Oh, goodie. I thought I did. Is Embry awake or there?"

"Umm, he should be here. But awake I don't know. Who is this?"

"It's Kat, a friend of his and Jakes'. Bella's little sister, Charlie's daughter."

"Oh, yeah. I know who you are. My son told me all about you. He likes you." She told me.

"Mommm!" I heard someone groan in the background.

"What, its true. Here, it's Kat." She told him. "She sounds cute." I heard her tell him.

"Hey, Kat."

"Hey,"

"Sorry about my mom, she's not all there." He said.

"I heard that!" I heard his mom yell out.

I chuckled. "She's fine. Do you want to hang out today?"

"Yeah, sure. You have a pen and paper. I'll give you directions, on how to get here."

Yeah, one second." I said then went to the drawer that had the notepad and pen. "Okay, what is it."

As he told me where to go, I read it back to him just to make sure I had it right. I told him give me about an hour or two and that I'll see him when I get there. Once I hung up, I went back upstairs to tell Bella that I was going to La Push to hang with Embry.

I went to the dresser, got some clothes to wear today. Once I was dressed, I done my hair and brushed my teeth. Then headed to the truck to head to his place. This was gonna be fun, knowing how to get there.
