The long confusing drive to his house, I made it in probably 20 minutes or so after I left. When I pulled up to his house, I sat there in the truck for a moment. Some reason I was nervous as get out. But that could be because I'm hanging out with a boy that I just kinda met. As I was about to open my door, I saw movement from the window. It was a woman smiling. Guessing it was his mother. Once I got out, I headed towards the door and right as I was about to knock, the woman had opened the door. "Hi, you must be Kat?" She asked, bring out her hand for me to shake. "Yeah, I am. Your Embry's mother?" "In the flesh. But you can call me Carla. That's my English name, you wouldn't pronounce my native name. I can hardly pronounce it half the time since I changed my name." I chuckled. "Cool, nice meeting you Carla." When she let me come in, Embry came out of his room and smiled when he saw me. I smiled back and even fixed my hair behind me ear some. "Hey Kat." "Hey Embry." Why am I being so shy now. Come on Kathleen. Get it straight. "So what are you two gonna do today?" His mother asked. "To be honest I don't have a clue. I only been here once and that was yesterday when I met your son." "Oh, dear. Son, why don't you show her around. Then around lunch I can make my specialty." "Yeah, sure I'll do that." Embry said. "What's your specialty?" "Ah, I would have to kill yea before you find what it is." "Mom," Em whined some. "Its just some deer roast stew. Its really good, you will love it." "Oh, okay. Its been awhile since I've had deer meat." I said. "Alrighty then." His mom said glaring at her son. "Let's go before she kills me." Embry said grabbing my hand and pulling me out the door. As he pulled me along, I started laughing at him until we got to the beach that was close to his house. When we stopped, he saw how hard I was laughing and started laughing with me. After our little work out of a laugh, he showed me around where he lived. He showed me where his mom worked, at the small town grocery store. We went in to get buy a drink. When he went to pay for it, the lady told us, it was already paid for. I was confused at first then he started smiling. "Mom called ahead and told them we might show up and put it on her tab." He said. "Oh, does she do that a lot?" I asked. "Sometime for me and the guys. We come up in here and tell them to put it on her tab for us." "But how you know, she called?" "I just know." He said as we walked around. After that, we went to the park that was about a few miles away from the store. I offered to drive us there, but he wanted to walk. He said it's good to walk everywhere. Which it is, but I didn't feel like walking miles. (Haha) I laughed some in my head. Once we got to the park, I sat on the swing and slowly pushed myself. He did the same until he got up and started pushing me. I started laughing, feeling like a little kid again. After awhile, we stopped swinging and thought we should head back for lunch, after all that walking and having fun, was sure making me hungry. When we got to the house, we were laughing so hard that I tripped going inside the house. When I fell hard on the hallway, his mom came running from the kitchen to see what had happened. When she saw me on the floor laughing then looked at her son seeing him laughing, she was confused at first. "Ummm, what happened? Are you okay, dear?" "Yea, I'm fine. I tripped when I came in." I said laughing. "Em, help me up please. My legs feel like jelly from all that walking." I said laughing some more as I reached my head out. "I bet they do." He said as he helped me up and when he did, I ran into his body. I had my one hand on his arm that wasn't helping me up, so I could stop myself from pushing into him but he didn't even budge. I knew he was fit when I first met him but feeling his arm muscle, man it felt great. His mother clearer her throat, making me jump a little. I turned around and faced her, blushing some. She smiled and wanted trying to hide it either. "Well, lunch is about done. Go wash up in the bathroom you two." She told us. "Yes, ma'am." We said at the same time laughing again. I pushed him some as he pushed me back but only to turn me towards the bathroom. When we got there, we went in the wash our hands together only making a little mess by splash each other some. But we stopped to clean up and head back towards the kitchen, laughing once again. He was fun to hang out with. But he isn't no Jacob, though. I started remembering the things we did with Jake back when I was little and they were all fun times. As well walked into the kitchen, his mother was fixing us our bowls and setting them on the table. "What would you like to drink, since we drunk what we had?" Embry asked. "What y'all have?" I asked. "Sweet tea, milk, cola, green tea, which is my mothers." "If she wants some she can have some. I'm not stingy." "No, that's fine. I'm not a green tea person. I think its gross." "Thank you." Embry said, then started laughing. "Hey its healthy and it helps clean out your insides." "Yeah, I'm good." Embry said. "Look at me, do I look fat? I'm healthy as a horse." He said trying to flex his arms. I started giggling. "Same, I mean look at me," I said as I lifted up my shirt some to show off my flat stomach. "I have a 4 pack going on here." I said as I slapped my stomach. "Nice." Embry said. I looked at him and blushed some. "Just give me a cola." I said as I put my shirt back down. "Do you even work out?" He asked me as he handed me my cola. "No, I just don't eat much. And back at my other school I was in gym and done everything. All kinds of sports." "Are you in gym here at the school your at now?" His mother asked. "No, I'm in art." I said as I opened my cola. She nodded then handed us each a bowl. When I saw how good it look and smelled so good, I couldn't wait anymore. I was hungry. I dug into my food and ate not as fast but fast enough to want another bowl of it. Embry laughed at me as well both finished at the same time and got us another bowl of it. I got half way through and was done. I pushed the bowl away from me and sat back. Embry grabbed my bowl and put it into what he had left and ate it. I just shook my head at him. His mother chuckled some. When she was done, she grabbed both my bowl and hers and put them into the sink. Once Embry finished his, she took it as well. "Man, that was good." He had said. "Tell me about it. I'm so full right now, I need a nap." I said. They both laughed at what I said. "Or we can go do some more walking around. And lose some calories along the way." I nodded as he got up. I reached my hand out for him to help me up. I was being to lazy right this moment. But once we got outside, we jogged up the beach until we stopped a few 30 yards from the house, and fell back on our butts to watch the waves roll in. For it being late fall, it sure is nice out today, but not nice enough to get into the water like some of these idiots around here. It felt good to enjoy this day like it was gonna last forever. Just not long enough to keep it.
