chapter 2

At the end of the day, for school, it was the worst. All my friends walked me towards the car. Sara and I were crying a little. She was my best friend and I hated to leave her.

"Kat, you have to email me every day about your day. School, boys, how Forks is? Anything I don't care. Call me once or two a week or even every day. Don't ever forget about me." She said hugging me.

"Geez, Sara. It ain't like she's dying. Your going see her again." Parker had said when Bella got to the car.

"Maybe." Bella said as she got into the car.

I glared at her. "Don't mind her." I told them.

"We got to go, Kat. We have plans with mom tonight, remember?" Bella yelled out the window.

"Okay. I'm coming." I yelled back. "I love you guys, but you better get in the bus before it leaves y'all."

"Call me once you get to your dads." Sara said.

"I will. I promise." I said as I got into the car.

When we got home, mom was watching one of her soaps when we walking inside the house. She was crying a little from what had happened in "General Hospital". One soap i never got into at all.

"Mom, its just a show." I had said.

"I know. But Hugo, he told the girl of his dreams he was dying...." She said wailing into a tissue.

I looked over at Bella and she just shrugged her shoulders and went into her room. I shook my head then done the same. About half an hour or so, our mother came and got us and we were off to the salon.

Once we got there, they got to Bella's first since it was just a trim. Then it was me. In told the lady I wanted it red, the reddest you can make it.

About an hour later, I was done and I loved it. It was different but it was me. I wanted a whole new me since I'm going to a whole new school, a new place. Starting over more like it.

When she blowed dried my hair, I went out to where my mother and sister was. My mother dropped the magazine she had in her hands and Bella she had a shocked face.

"Oh my lord, Kat its gorgeous." My mother has said.

"Its wow. Its you, for sure. Bright and a new you." Bella said.

"Thanks, I love it. Its not the shade I wanted but with the color of my brown this is what I'm getting. But still love it. Thank you mom." I told her as I hugged her.

She smiled up at me before walking away to pay for ours hairs. Once she paid, we left and went home. Even on the way home, she ordered pizza and by the time we got home, it had arrived.

Phil was at the door, grabbing the pizzas when we got out of the car and done a double take when he saw me.

"Wow, your hair." He said.

"Yeah, I know. Its wild." Kat said smiling really hard.

"Bright, NASA can see it from space." Bella sarcastically said before walking away.

I glared at her for a second before Phil had put his arm over my shoulder.

"Wait til y'alls father sees." Phil said.

"Speaking of Charlie, I have to go remind him when to pick you girls up." Renee had said.

I nodded and we all went inside and ate pizza.

After we all ate and watched whatever was on TV, we all went to bed. Or at least tried to.

Since I couldn't sleep, I made sure I had everything I needed. I went over everything probably 10x before Bella had came into the room.

"What are you doing? Why are you being so loud?" She asked.

"Sorry, I didn't know I was." I said as I zipped up my bags. "Just making sure I have everything."

"Well if you don't you can always buy it in Forks." Bella said.

I looked at her. "Why are you being harsh? This was your idea, you know."

"I know it was, its just I don't know. I feel like, Charlie is gonna be different. Then mom so excited about this trip that, a lot is going through my head. You seem excited as well."

"Me excited? I'm not. I don't want to leave Phoenix. I don't want to leave my friends."

"Then why the whole knee attitude, the new hair and everything."

"Because, I want to try and fit in. I'm not like you, I want people to like me."

"Kat, people do like you. You have way more friends than me. I'm Miss Nobody, here. No friends, I stick to myself. I'm boring."

"That's for sure." I said making a snobby comment to what she said about being boring.

Bella pushed me a little than laughed. She shook her head than head back to the door.

"Go to bed. We gotta wake up early." Bella said then left my room.

I smiled some after she left than done what she said. I turned off my light, got into bed and drifted off to bed.

The next day, mom has woken us up. I got up, hurried up and put on some sweats, crop top and my flannel shirt to go over it, and to top of my white tennis shoes. I wanted to be comfortable on the plane.

After getting dressed, Bella and I got our bags and headed to the car. Phil grabbed our bags and loaded up the trunk as me and Bella looked around the area.

Bella, she was over by the cactuses, digging up one of em to bring with us. Which was kinda cool, hopefully security let's use take it.

"Come on, let's go we have a plane to catch." Phil called out to us.

Yay, I said in my head. I went over to Bella, wrapped my arm around her waist and looked back at everything before going to the car.

"Ima miss this." I said

"Me too. But we'll be back." Bella said.

Once we got into the car, we were off to the airport to head to Seattle, Washington. Where our father is gonna meet us there.
