CHAPTER 4 – Towards dad's office

1753 Words
Aileen’s POV Dad’s declaration about the guest who was presented among us stunned me. I must say that he was handsome and suitable for a girl, any girl would love to marry a man like him, but the question was, I already have a secret mate which I didn’t expose to the world. I looked at Leon, who was not looking at Liam with his clenched palms. He doesn’t have to be angry about this, I didn’t express my feelings for him yet, but my question was, did he already start to be possessive about me? I felt the sparks when he touches me in the car for the first time. Since I am a wolf, I feel it strongly. He felt it, too; I was identified through his facial expressions. “Aileen, how the pack duties you were doing? I heard that you were a great Luna,” Liam’s voice disturbed my thoughts. “Huh, sorry. Did you say something?” I asked, but my eyes looked at furious Leon above Liam’s shoulder. “Let’s go inside; why do we waste time standing outside?” Dad kept his arm on Liam’s shoulder. Leon’s face was gloomy; I felt that whatever was happening here was incorrect. “Tell the Alpha Leon was our mate,” Akira purred. “Stay calm; I will talk to Dad,” I mind-linked Akira. We all walked inside, except Leon! I turned to see him, and he was looking at our back with a blank expression. “Did you come to stay outside? Come in,” I said to Leon. He walked to climb the few steps to the main entrance of the pack house and stood right in front of me, hovering over my body. I gulp a bit when I see his cold expression. “Tell me you knew that, Aileen,” he was irritated. His hot breath was fanning against my face. “Knew what, Leon?” I asked like I didn’t understand him. He scoffed a smile. “Don’t try to be a baby, Aileen. You knew that Liam, the so-called Alpha’s son, would be here” he clenched his jaw annoyingly while raising a brow. “Are you crazy? I never…wait a minute, why are you asking me? Did Liam’s presence irritate you, Leon?” I folded my arms and raised my brow. “I didn’t expect a visitor here; I thought we and only your parents would be here, and why the f*ck do I give a damn about him? I don’t care what business will have between you and him” he was so egoistic. He was not ready to accept that he felt something for me. “And do you?” I was disturbed by Akira. “Then why do you bother Leon? Why are you so arrogant from the moment you see him” I asked, hoping he would give me a clue about our bond, but he said nothing he walked away. I sighed deeply and walked into the pack house. I saw Melina and Noah talking to Dad while Liam discussed with another two guys. Leon was looking outside the window. “Aileen, who are these friends of yours? You didn’t introduce them to me?” Liam walked toward me when he saw me. “I.…ummm…” A loose strand of my hair was disturbing, and I was about to tuck it behind my ears when suddenly Liam gently tucked it behind my ear. My eyes enlarged, and I saw Leon taking short breaths to handle his anger. He then left the place angrily, storming the door behind. “I’ll go and look for him,” saying that Noah also went behind him. “So, what I asking was….” “They are not my friends. Noah was Melina’s mate, and Leon, who walked away from her, was Noah’s cousin’s brother. He lost his parents when he was three years old, and that’s all I know about him,” I lied. I knew every moment of his life. When Melina says something about them, I hear every detail though I pretend not to. “I will talk to them later. Can I have a moment with you, Aileen? Alone in the garden or somewhere you prefer?” he politely asked. “You are gonna be in a mess soon, Aileen, don’t allow him to touch you, or else I’ll come out and claim Leon as our mate,” Akira dangerously growled from inside. “Sure,” I said. We both walked outside. It was the backyard of the packhouse. I saw how the omegas were doing gardening. Dad encourages them to do the gardening so that we can use the gardened vegetables and fruits for the pack members’ meals. Feeding many wolves was not an easy task; it took a considerable cost for the meals since wolves had large portions to maintain their strength. “Did you ever do gardening?” What kind of a stupid question did I ask? Which Alpha’s son does garden keeping all the pack duties behind? I mentally palmed myself for the embarrassed question I asked. “I am sorry, I….” “It’s Ok, Aileen. I know you are confused and disturbed; that’s why I brought you here. Is there anything I need to know? Or is there anything behind your nervousness, something I should know or something you are hiding from everyone” he gently asked. He was so kind and polite. “Liam, thank you so much for understanding my nervousness. I can’t tell you yet; I am in a complicated situation. No one knows anything except me; give me a few times, and I promise I will tell you everything, and you will be the first to know about it,” I said, looking at the sunset. “Aileen, your dad said that you were mateless like me,” Liam said while we walked between the cabbage garden. “You were mateless? But I am not…” “You are not mateless?” Liam stopped in the place. Shit, I screwed up! “I don’t know, I didn’t find out about it yet,” I manage the situation. We talked about pack duties, family matters, his future goals, and so on, He cracked some jokes, and I laughed; I am sure that Liam will be a good mate for whomever he marries. He has a sense of humor and discipline, but I never knew that a pair of eyes were boring holes in us fuming in rage. “Tea time, fellas,” I heard Melina yelling at us with Noah. Noah was back, so it must be Leon. “Let’s go; I need to have a warm tea and put some snacks in my tummy also” We both walked back to where Mom had arranged a particular tea party for all of us. She was happy to see both me and Melina. “Wow, Mom, what’s that smell? Did you make…” before I asked, she smiled. “Yes, I made your favorite date cake with strawberry tart, and for you, Melina, I made the perfect chocolate cake with melted dark chocolate.” “You are the best mom” I ran to her and wrapped my arms around her. “Oh, Mom, the most I missed there was your food” Melina hugged her too. “Didn’t you miss me then?” Mom made a pouted face. “Now, sit and eat as much as you want. I have made enough for you to take your pack house and have them,” she said. “Where’s Leon?” she looked for Leon. I don’t know why; ever since we came here, she was concerned about Leon. Then I realized that Leon was not at the table, except Leon; everyone was there. “He said that he wants to walk in the packhouse territory. You know we as humans would love to see the horizons of wolves,” Noah said. I know Leon was hiding something, which I need to clarify soon. He has been ignoring us since we came here and after meeting Liam. The table soon became busy, and everyone was chatting and having tea except me. I was physically there, but mentally I was lost in the thought of Leon. “Aileen, what else do you like to have during the tea” It was Liam’s voice that brought me into the present world. “Huh…oh, with tea, these are my favorite. I am not too sweet, Liam; I like spicy food,” I said, taking a bit from my strawberry tart. “So you are a hot person.” Did he make a double-meaning thing? I quickly turned my head to see Liam looking at me with charmed eyes. Of course, this handsome hunk can charm any girl. “Just think about our mate only” Akira was there to remind me and focused me back on our mate. “Dad, if you are not too busy after the tea, I want to meet you,” I said. “Of course, you and Liam can meet me in the office room,” he said. “Ugh, Dad, I want alone time with you,” I said, Liam’s face clouded with disappointment, but he quickly changed his expression. “I am sure you must have something private to talk about; come meet me after the tea.” The tea table was soon finished after about half an hour. It was about 7.00 p.m., but there was deep darkness outside. Melina and Noah were nowhere to be seen, and Liam returned to his room. Dad’s office was located a single house away from the pack house. He wanted to do his duties without disturbing anyone, so he made this house. Years back, his office was located inside the packhouse, but he changed it. A sand path led to the single house from the pack house and was located about a hundred meters away from the pack house. I met one or two omegas carrying vegetables for the kitchen to prepare dinner; otherwise, the wind was only there to give me company. I was wearing mid-thigh cotton shorts with a tank top. It brought me a comfortable and soft feeling. Suddenly my nostrils started to fill with his scent. It was Leon’s scent, and I looked everywhere to find him, but before that, a pair of solid hands covered my mouth and pulled me away!
