I sighed helplessly as all my pleading were on deaf ears, I stood up nonchalantly and walked to him, he pulled me to his thigh with a face void of emotions, what else can he do since he has spurted out a lot in front of the chefs "come on Jasmine you can do this, it's just a matter of time then you will be out of here" I mumbled, faked a smiled and fed him as he ordered till he is full, I beamed happily when I was done feeding him and attempted to stand up and walk back to the chair, he held my wrist and yanked me on his thigh, "what's wrong with this mad man?" I said to myself trying not to snap. I won't let all my efforts be of no avail, I need to be calm so that I would be able to leave here. I stared at him with mist in my eyes. He made it known that he'd feed me, which I find horrifying. How can I eat from the hands of this monster, I'll continuously puke leaving my stomach empty, I sighed. Not that I've got a choice, this is not the Miller's Empire, no one cares even if you have to puke to death, so just play along, I consoled myself and started swallowing the food he fed me.

Moments later he was already down, I thanked my stars and let out a long sigh as my moments of torture were over. I flinched as I felt a grip on my wrist, I looked down to see him trying to put something on my wrist, I snatched my hand away from him and jump off his thigh and scramble the bracelet shoving it aside, h stared down at my wrist and warned me not to take off the bracelet, I rolled my eyes paying no attention to him, I told him my mind after removing the bracelet he stuck on to my wrist, "Damned man" I scoffed and threw the bracelet at him. He groaned with gritted teeth like he was trying to keep calm, I backed away from him with my hands on my waist. Although I have decided to be good and obedient till I leave here oh my, I can't stand being humiliated or stepped on like a nobody, whereas I owned an Empire, I stood my stance waiting for him to show me what he can do, I'm no coward, I'd rather die than be at his every command. He sighed with a bit of calmness in his eyes "come with me!" He blurted out, what does this man take me as? Playing stunts with me ain't gonna work. I stepped further away from him, glaring at him. I don't need to be so blunt in saying my mind but my face says it all that I'm not stepping an inch, after all, he has done this evening, I wouldn't be so dumb to jump into a shallow grave, he looked at me impatiently but I wasn't scared I have already made up my mind not to be a coward. Angered by my decision he got up from the chair, shot me one more glance, and told me to come for him if I have questions or want to know about the bracelet, he disappeared immediately after conveying his message like he wasn't in the dining hall with me. I sat down on the chair with my hands on my jaw wondering why he is acting weird when I asked him about the bracelet so many thoughts were rushing through my mind as I contemplated whether to find him or not. "No, I can't meet him not after what he has done, '' I asserted.

"Jasmine you need to be smart, he might have something important to say but not in front of the servants. You can also ask him about Lysander" my intuition beckoned me. Really! You're betraying me because of something weird? I scoffed berating my mind, "this is not about being weird, I think you should go and meet him. This is your last chance" I wanted to scream at my stupid mind who was giving me crazy advice but stopped halfway when I saw Nicholas approaching me with a smile.

"Can I help you with anything my lady? You looked distressed and worried you can confide in me" I stared at his face and found it irrelevant to speak about my affairs with the chef. "Everything is fine Nicholas. I was about leaving" I blurted out as I got up from the seat, "nice meal though" I complimented and left the dining hall. Although I didn't want to go find the king, my feet carried me to his doorstep. I took a deep breath and knocked twice before the door was unlocked. He welcomed me into his room and locked the door with a loud bang that skyrocketed my heartbeat. I shouldn't be here, I mumbled to myself. I swirled to him with both hands on my waist and notified him to be fast as I don't want to spend more minutes in this room, it has become my biggest nightmare. He sticks out the bracelet from his pocket and freezes it in the air.

"You want to know about this bracelet so badly that you decided to come to my chambers without thinking about the consequences" I shuddered at his word, but I won't show my vulnerability and let him use it to his advantage, I'm no coward and this is not how I'll run the Miller empire that mother left me by being scared and not face my fears. I smirked and took a long stride towards him covering the space between us, "don't even start with that. You think you can scare me with few words so that you won't explain yourself to me, my dear king you've underestimated me" I muttered with my gaze on him, he looked at me bewildered but abruptly chuckled and find his way to the sofa where he sat down with legs crossed.

"Have a seat Demeter I believe you're no longer frightened by me. You can't keep on standing like those in the army" I scoffed and strode to the single sofa and lounge on it.
