"Make it brief and fast," I said with an expressionless face, "well, the pearl bracelet is for your protection." He blurted that it got me cracked up, and he looked at me like he had seen an alien. I caressed my chest and with the other hand, I covered my mouth trying not to look unserious as we were in the middle of a conversation.

"Protection! From who?" I inquired blatantly, I waved my hand cutting him off as he was about to say something that is only known to him, "don't even start with your lame excuse, I believe you know I'm not easily deceived, I'm way smarter than you think. Do you want to play me with this? You wish! The only person I need to protect myself from is you" I pointed at him decisively. "So don't even think of turning around the world," I said this time with an annoyed tone, what does he even take me as? I suppose he thinks I'm lame that is why he used the dumbest excuse.

"Come on Demeter, don't act childish. You should've just listened to what I'm saying then jumped to a conclusion, I thought you wanted a brief and fast explanation?" He uttered in an amused tone.

"I've already analyzed the nonsense you have to say, that is how fast I am"

"You really don't wanna listen to me, do you?" This time he said with a calm voice that stunned me, this is the calmest voice he has ever used to address me. I softened a bit and motioned him to continue as it looked like what he had to say was important. "You should listen carefully to what I'm going to say" he mumbled as he lifted his hand and snapped, "what did you just do?" I asked, alarmed. Is he planning on murdering me now, I thought frightened but composed on the outside. "Don't overthink it, Demeter, I only sealed the room so that spies or anyone won't be able to listen to our conversation" he explained.

"Is there a thing like that?" I blurted out, amazed.

"Of course babe, there are more you haven't seen," he said with a smirk. I hissed and relaxed my back on the sofa, what's there to be proud of? I rolled my eyes. "Well, you don't have to be pissed, once you regain your powers and recall your past life you will be able to do all this" I scoffed at his way of trying to make me feel good and gestured to him to continue. "There are spies here in the east wing. I don't know who their target is at the moment but you have to be safe first that's why I prepared the blue pearl as it will keep you safe from harm" I sat up gazing at him, "spies! What does it have to do with me? I'm not even from here, why do I have to wear the blue pearl for protection? I don't understand any of this" I let out trying not to freak out.

"Be calm Demeter, do you remember what happened a few days back, how you initiated a kiss?" I bit my lips and turned away as my face was already burning up from the remembrance of what I did. "I clearly remember everything, why are you rubbing it on my face? Besides, that wasn't intentional"

"Right! It wasn't intentional, you were being manipulated by a vicious sorcerer who is yet to be identified, although they didn't come for you you easily fall for their trick. That is why I prepared the blue pearl to keep you safe" my jaw dropped as my mind scanned the whole thing he said, "sorcerer! What is a sorcerer, am I in trouble? Please send me back home" I uttered, freaking out of my wits, he walked towards me and sat on the table facing me.

"You're not in trouble and no one can harm you when I'm here to protect you" I wanted to believe him but he was the one that kept me here in the first place, "I promise with my life that I'm going to protect you, now, can you please wear the blue pearl as the spies of the sorcerer might still be lurking around somewhere," he said and lifted his hand the pearl landed on his palm and he handed it to me, "don't ever lose it" he whispered and went back to his spot, I looked down at the bracelet that was glistering, such a fine pearl but I don't know whether I should take your masters word serious. I thought, still gazing at the pearl. I sighed and abruptly slid the bracelet in my wrist, "a known enemy is better than the unknown, I know that he won't hurt me because he would have done it long ago if he wanted to" I thought to take in the fine piece of pearl.

"What is a sorcerer?" I inquired as I've never heard of it.

"Well, a sorcerer is someone that performs vicious magic that can harm others, some practice dark magic that has been banned in the century, so you got to beware of who you communicate with within the castle" he warned sternly, sending fright shivers to my spine. "What about Lysander? I heard the servants saying that he betrayed you and I haven't seen him the whole day. What happened, is he one of the sorcerers?" He paused his lips into a thin line like he was thinking, "fine, you can choose not to say" I said stiffly and stood up to leave, he step right in front of me, "don't misunderstand this, I don't want you to get into trouble while staying with me this place is full of vicious people. About Lysander, he is locked up in the abandoned palace for working with the sorcerer" I stared at him with a widened eye, even the King's most trusted person betrayed him, this means that I had to watch my move.

"Remember, don't disclose things to people, even your servants might be a spy" I nodded in response. He lifted his hand and did the same as before, "you can leave now" he muttered and turned his strides to the glass door.
