Chapter 39

1040 Words
I'm never like my father and I won't harbor any child except Demeter's, so don't spurt nonsense. I've been ignoring all your spiteful behavior because you saved me decades ago when I was being haunted but now I won't tolerate your bickering anymore. I stood up from the sofa and strode to the washroom, I had my bath put on a black robe, and went to bed. I couldn't even stop myself from thinking about what my supposed mind said to me, no matter how hard I tried. "I can never be like my father!" I reassured myself and laid down to have some rest, feeling uncomfortable. I sprang up from the bed, changed my outfit, and teleported to my study as I don't want to listen to the bickering next door. "Knock knock" I heard a thud on the door after a while of settling down, "come in" I muttered softly as I was already exhausted. Aragon walked in with a tray of food, I rolled my eyes at him and looked away. Doing work that I didn't send him but refuses to do the ones I assigned him with a flimsy excuse, how hypocritical. "My Lord, I brought you lunch since you didn't have the chance to have breakfast" he placed the food on the table a few inches away from my working table and bowed, "Aragon, you're really good at doing what you're not asked," I said mockingly. "Pardon me, my Lord, the food would get cold and you don't like cold food" I sneered and strode to the sofa facing the table that has the food. He dished out the food and placed it in front of me, a glint appeared in my eyes as I saw that this is my favorite food, although I'm quite famished, I wouldn't dare compliment Aragon. I picked up the spoon and started eating the dished-out meal. I burped after having a glass of water and relaxed on my back. I looked up to see Aragon still standing in front of me, "what are you still doing here?" I asked with a raised brow while wiping my mouth. "I received a message from the west palace," he muttered. I halted and placed the napkin on the table wondering what the message was all about. I haven't gotten any disturbing messages from my mother since the last time she was refused to step into the east palace. Well, I still have to know the content of the latter. I motioned Aragon to deliver the message, and he flipped a scroll in the air revealing the content of the message. "Birthday!" My eyes widened, "who sent this message?" "Queen mother's personal maid" I smirked, "fine since I'm invited I'll definitely go" I let out with a chuckle. "Are you sure about that my Lord? Maybe you can sleep over it. They must be planning something hideous" Aragon suggested, my face turned sullen as I gaze at him. "I'd have to attend my mother's birthday, I'll be unfilial if I don't attend it" he nodded, yes this is a great opportunity to finally investigate those in the west palace closely, probably the reason for this sudden party is still unknown. "My king the messenger also said that the queen suggested that you and Miss Ophelia would start the opening dance" I sneered, I was right. She won't stop this stupid matchmaking that she is planning which will fail. "If there is nothing else you can leave" I uttered looking up at him, he bowed and swirled to leave. "The TRF dance, everyone is gone?" I inquired. "Yes, my Lord. They already left without leaving any trouble" I nodded in agreement and waved off dismissively. He bowed and left, "dance with Ophelia, you wish mother!" I thought to myself tapping my feet on the ground, what if Italy Demeter to the birthday? Everyone would be stunned to wits, I'd love to see the looks on their face when they will my Demeter, "hmm" I breathed heavily, that'd be putting her life in danger since she's not aware of who she is and have t recovered her powers it would be bad to take her out the east wing, I ran my hand through my head still confused on what to do, I sighed and waved the thought off my mind. Resting my head on the sofa my mind suddenly reminds me that I have not given the blue pearl to Lysander, however, I tried to sneak the blue pearl into his pocket but I can't, seems like the spell cast on the south wing don't allow any intrusion even from their master, I got up from the sofa, snapped the tip of my finger and teleported the gate of the abandoned palace, I reverse the haunting spell I placed on it since Marcus was sent to the human world and strode in, after a few walk I saw a manor with light coming out from it, I took a long stride towards it and yanked the door open with my powers, I saw Lysander reading a book as I walked into the room. "Quite impressive how you're enjoying the abandoned palace Lysander and even turned it into a fine structure. Huff! This is how you're repenting for your sins?" He flinched and raised his head, he bowed the moment he saw me, "my king, I didn't know you would be Coming" he muttered. I raised my brow, "are you indirectly telling me not to come to the south wing? You have quite the guts. You just left a few days and you're now blunt with words" "That's not what I meant, you misunderstood me" I snapped my hand and made him unable to utter a word, "that's enough, can't you look for something better?" He tried speaking but nothing came out, "I'm going to remove the silencing spell but if you keep bickering I will put it back and leave it on you while you stay here, that'd be a good punishment for you" I shake his head in disagreement, bowing his head repeatedly, I smirked and removed the silencing spell and handed him the blue pearl, he stared at the blue pearl amazed.
