Their laughter stopped as they saw me walk into the hall "hello daddy, you're here aunt Reena, Rebecca" I mumbled sitting on a chair, she gave me an awkward smile, "daddy I wanted to talk to you about something "

  "Go on" he motioned me, "I mean in private" I asserted looking around the dining room, "you say all you have to say to me here, there are no strangers here" I turned to Aunt Reena "please aunt, Becca can you excuse us I need to talk to dad in private" she nodded and tried to get up from the seat "sit down Reena" Dad asserted with total authority that stunned me, "I wanted to tell you this but I want you to get over your mother's death first" he blurted out looking at aunt and turning back to me, "you already know your aunt Reena, she will become your mother from now on and Rebecca your sister" I chuckled, "what do you mean? I guess you're joking"

  "Rebecca is my daughter with Reena making her your sister, plus you get along great before this, so it won't be hard on you" I froze, confused trying to figure out all the details but couldn't understand it, I stood up looking at my dad "I know you wanted to help aunt Reena and Becca but there are lots of other ways to do it without marrying mom's friend"

  "Daddy, you have to explain things to her clearly, I'm sick of being seen as a bastard or beggar" Rebecca muttered to daddy, who was just looking at her adoringly, "my dear you and your mom are moving in today, nothing is going to stop it "he pressed his hand on her palm, I looked at them with lowered jaw, lost in a trance, "it is not possible, daddy how can you be so ruthless, your wife is dead a few days ago and you can't wait to bring your mistress and her bastard home, you're shameless" I scolded throwing daggers at my best friend who had known all along "come on Mie, Becca is your friend you don't have to insult her" asserted Reena feigning innocence, "cut the s**t Reena, you betrayed my mother and you slept with her husband behind her back, now you want to snatch her home, I'm sorry but i won't accept it you both are not welcome in this family" I let out angrily, "Mie, don't result to this we are bthe friends and now we can become good sisters like you always wished" Becca held my hand, "we can never be good sisters" I shook her hand off me and she fell to the ground, I was stunned, I know I didn't push her hard so why did she suddenly fall.

  "Jasmine! What's wrong with you, you can hit me if you want but don't hurt Becca" I smiled mischievously, "You are shameless Reena, you want to be Mrs. Wilson and leach my mother's wealth, you planned it all right" a slap sounded on my face causing my face to move to the other side, I saw Becca smirk at me, I gritted my teeth and turned to father looking at him with disdain, "you slapped me because of your mistress and bastard daughter"

  "You should learn your lesson, and stop being mischievous look at your sister she is polite and wise" I clenched my fist at the mention of sister, "I don't have a sister" I shouted back at him, "Reena and Rebecca are moving in today it's final" Rebecca smiled triumphantly and walked beside dad gripping his hand, "this house belongs to mum, I won't allow you to bring your mistress and your bastard in my mother's house, you can find your own house and take them there" his face turned red with anger, "say that again, you insolent girl and I'll deal with you, I'm your mother's husband apparently the house is mine" the mother and daughter nodded, I laughed sarcastically which echoed throughout the house, "is yours? This house belongs to the Millers, not Wilson's, I see why mom and grandpa insisted that I take their last name because they know you are not loyal" he staggered in shock and straightened himself "then we will have to verify her will. Reena and Rebecca won't go anywhere until the lawyer shows us the will" I tried to tell him I had seen the will that I had all of the Miller's assets, but the word of that woman I met at the cremation ground flashed through my mind, I glared at them and stepped into my room. I fell to the floor and burst into tears, "mom! How come this is happening, I thought you and dad were the best couple, but he betrayed you, your best friend betrayed you, they were all against you" I screamed with my head on my thigh, "I can't stand this betrayal mom, aunt Reena was like your sister, you took Rebecca as your daughter, even Becca knows it but she hid it from me anyway, they had plotted all this from the start to get closer to us" I mumbled to myself, I can not stay here, it is suffocating I need to breathe, I got up from the ground, took my jacket, my purse and left the house.

  I walked aimlessly down the street with a lot of things on my mind, "Mum left me all her assets, could it be she was aware of this, is that why she was murdered" I crouched down on the pathway, running my hand through my hair, I pulled out my phone and dialed a number, "Mie, why are you disturbing my sleep, it's so late"

  "Chloe…" I called trying to speak but nothing came out like something had grabbed my tongue, "what's wrong with you?"  She inquired, I could only sob, the pain I was feeling was too much I didn't know who to trust, "okay don't say anything, stay right there I'll come to get you" the call dropped, I still squatted, dazed at how quickly things unravel and change, a shrill sound brought me back to reality, I tried to stand up but fell to the floor.
