As we left the nasty scene, from Sam and Jessica's home, I laid back in the backseat, listening to the soft music in the background and Sam and Dean talk. They didn't say much nor did I. I didn't know what to say. I don't know how it feels to lose the other half of you in something that we go through in our lifestyle. No one expected she would get hurt because we were out hunting, looking for John. I know how it feels to lose someone in front of them but the way this had happened, its hard to explain.
The day of the funeral, I got all dressed up to look nice for Sam and joined him. Dean hung back in the car. This wasn't his cup of tea. He couldn't deal with loss. So I went to comfort Sam.
I know this was hard on him, but I take it he was glad I had came along. Because other then him, I've seen my family die in front of me.
I held tight onto Sam, I was still a little weak from the ordeal, being stuck in a house fire, trying to save all our lives. But Sam he was grateful. While walked over to the grave site, I had tripped over a stump and Sam caught me.
"Heather, you okay?" He had asked, putting his hand on my arm.
"Yea, still a little weak."
"Maybe you should head back to the car." He started to tell me.
"No, I'm gonna be here for you. If you never had came with us to find your father, this would never have had happened." I told him.
"No, I don't think that would have solved it. It's what I've done, as in hunting lifestyle." He told me.
We walk over to the grave and we both set flowers down for her. I touched the grave stone, it was pretty. When I touched it, I felt something weird. I fell back onto my butt and back. I saw Sam look back towards the car then back to me.
I saw Dean running towards us bending down, looking me over. They were saying something, but I couldn't hear. Then I spoke.
"Take me to the house." I said as they helped me up.
"What? Why?" They both asked me.
"Just do it." I told them as I started walking back to the car.
I got about 5 feet away from the car and bend over with my hands on my knees. Dean and Sam ran over to me to help me the rest of the way. I've never felt so weak before until now when I had touched that grave stone.
I really need to find answers about me. For both sides. Because right now, I feel like my demon side is taking over.
As we got in the car, Sam and Dean looked at me. Oh know they were concerned about me, but they don't know the feeling that I'm feeling right now.
Since I was in dress pant suit I crossed my legs in the backseat and started meditating. I mumbled a few words that they wouldn't understand. About 10 minutes into meditation, we got to the house and I took a shockingly deep breathe.
I snapped my eyes open and the boys were staring at me. "He's here." I said then got out of the car and ran inside the house to their bedroom.
Dean and Sam ran in after me and stared at me as I was looking around the room.
"Who's here?" They asked.
I put my hand up at them. "I know your here you sick son of b***h. Show yourself." I called out.
The wind got a little crazy in the room, then a shockingly blast had hit me and sent me flying against the wall.
"Heather!" The boys yelled out.
They went to run over to me. But something had stopped them. And the words were coming from me but it wasn't me saying them.
"Come any closer and your poor Heather gets hurt." I had said. Then I snapped my eyes open.
"You, your the yellowed eye demon." Dean had said.
"You killed our mother, my girlfriend." Sam had said.
"You sick son of b***h, your gonna pay for all of this. Just watch and see." Dean told the demon inside of me.
"Poor poor Heather. Its sad what has come of her. Her father won't be very pleased with her doing. Expressly with a Winchester. No wonder her mother had died." The demon was making me say.
I had enough of him being inside me, I used all my power and strength to get him out of me. Somehow I had took back over my body and voice. "GET OUT OF ME!!!!" I had screamed out and my eyes with from yellow to blackish blue from both my side forming together. The next moment I know I was falling over from passing out.
I've seen some scary s**t, but this was some scarier s**t. The yellowed eye demon took over Heather for a moment to talk to us. Her eyes went from a pretty brown to and ugly yellow. Then out of no where she took control of her body again and her eyes went from yellow to blackish blue. They were pretty. I was guessing both her sides was forming together to push out the yellowed eye demon. Then the next she was falling over by passing out.
Sam and I ran over to her. Checking everything out on her. She was breathing, but it was a weak pulse. I had picked her up and carried her out of the house. Sam had the back door open so I can place her inside. I was really worried about her. Sam and I got in the front, I started the car back up and we took off. I was starting to head over to a hotel then started thinking the next location that dad had written in his journal.
"Okay, look on the map and locate where we need to go next that dad had written in his journal." I told Sammy.
Sam opened up the glove department and grabbed the map that had the location of where we needed to be. He opened it up and looked it up.
Since what had happened with Heather, we took off and drove all night heading where we needed to be. Yea it may have had been 16 hour drive, but we had to find the thing that had killed Jessica. I was a little worried about Heather, she hasn't woken up yet since he took over her body. After it had happened I got a hold of Bobby and told him what happened. He had said it shouldn't had happened. She had a protection tattoo on her, but thinks because she was weak from the fire it might have weakened it. I told him the demon brought up her father and mother. That he wouldn't be happy with her doing and no wonder her mother had died. Bobby was pissed off. He wanted me to bring her home, but I told him I had it from here and that I had to follow dad's next move. Which he understood that.
Also told him, if we're close, we would stop by so he can see Sam again. Told me to take care and he was looking for more s**t due to her father.
As we were outside of Grand Junction, CO. It was beautiful here, wish Heather was awake to see this.
"Dad disappearing and this thing showing up again after twenty years, it's no coincidence." I started off saying. "Dad will have answers. He'll know what to do."
"It's weird, man. These coordinates he left us. This Blackwater Ridge." Sam brought up.
"What about it?" I had asked.
"There's nothing there. It's just woods." Sam says as he puts down the map. "Why is he sending us to the middle of nowhere?"
We drive past the National Forest sign that says, "Welcome to LOST CREEK COLORADO National Forest".
I parked the Impala next to a sign that says "RANGER STATION Lost Creek Trail, Lost Creek National Forest".
Sam and I got out of the car, leaving Heather in the back. I opened the back door, to check on her, her pulse was getting better then it was. So that's a good sign. I went to the trunk and grabbed the light weight blanket, then back to her and covered her up.
"So Blackwater Ridge is pretty remote." Sam says.
I nodded. "Heather would have loved this." I said as I shut the trunk.
Sam looks at a 3D map of the national forest, paying particular attention to the ridge labeled "BLACKWATER RIDGE". While I looked at the decorations.
"It's cut off by these canyons here, rough terrain, dense forest, abandoned silver and gold mines all over the place." Sam was saying.
"Dude, check out the size of this freaking bear." I called out.
Sam looks over. I was looking at a framed photo of a man standing behind a much larger bear. Sam comes to stand next to me.
"And a dozen or more grizzlies in the area. It's no nature hike, that's for sure."
A forest ranger, walks up behind us; when he speaks, me and Sam whip around, startled.
"You boys aren't planning on going out near Blackwater Ridge by any chance?" The ranger asked.
"Oh, no, sir, we're environmental study majors from UC Boulder, just working on a paper." Sam told him.
Sam laughs a little. I just grins and raises a fist.
"Recycle, man." I say with a little smirk.
"Bull." The ranger said.
Sam's eyes flick to me, as I do not move.
"You're friends with that Haley girl, right?" The ranger said at first. "I saw in your car on the way in a friend of yours asleep. Is she okay?"
I considers. "Yes. Yes, we are, Ranger," I say at first then checks the RANGER's nametag. "Wilkinson. Our friend there, got food poisoning a few towns back, so she's sleeping it off."
The ranger nods his head. "Well I will tell you exactly what we told her. Her brother filled out a backcountry permit saying he wouldn't be back from Blackwater until the twenty-fourth, so it's not exactly a missing persons now, is it?"
I shakes my head.
"You tell that girl to quit worrying, I'm sure her brother's just fine."
"We will. Well that Haley girl's quite a pistol, huh?"
"That is putting it mildly." The ranger told us.
"Actually you know what would help is if I could show her a copy of that backcountry permit. You know, so she could see her brother's return date." I had asked.
The ranger eyes me for a moment then hands me the copy of the back county permit.
Sam and I leave the ranger station. I was holding a piece of paper and laughing.
"What, are you cruising for a hookup or something?"
"What do you mean?" I had asked.
"The coordinates point to Blackwater Ridge, so what are we waiting for? Let's just go find Dad. I mean, why even talk to this girl?"
Sam and I stop on opposite sides of the Impala.
"I don't know, maybe we should know what we're walking into before we actually walk into it?" I said as I looked in the back seat at Heather.
I paused for a moment then looked back at him.
"What?" Sam asks.
"Since when are you all shoot first ask questions later, anyway?" I had asked.
"Since now." Sam says and turns away; the sound of the car door opening is heard.
"Really now?" I had asked then got into the car and started her up.
We head towards where we could find and talk to Haley. When we found her, we asked her some questions and she showed us some pictures and videos from what her brother had sent her. After we were done, we head back to the car, Heather was moving around in the back. I ran to open the door and checked on her.
"Hey, easy now." I told her.
"Mhmm." She hummed.
"How you feeling?" Sam asked when he got in the front.
"Like s**t. Where are we?" She asked.
"Working on a lead from dad's journal. We were just talking to one of the missing hikers family." I told her. "You look like you could use a drink or two."
"You got that right." She said.
"Do you remember what happened?" Sam asked, as I got in the driver side to start the car.
"Kinda, I know that stupid son of b***h took me over." She told us.
"Bobby says because you were weak or something. I don't know." I told her.
"You called Bobby?" She kinda yelled at me. "Oh my god, he probably flipping s**t right now." She says, as she got her phone.
"No actually he's fine. He said to leave you alone and rest." I told her.
"Which you have. Its been almost a whole day since what happened." Sam told her.
"Thanks guys." She told us as she kissed our cheeks. "I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have y'all." She told us as she leaned back.
As we drive towards a small bar in town, we walked in, saw someone playing a game of pool. A waitress walking around passing out beers. While Sam, Heather, and I go sit down at a table.
"So, Blackwater Ridge doesn't get a lot of traffic. Local campers, mostly. But still, this past April, two hikers went missing out there. They were never found." Sam says as he opens dad's journal. Also trying to catch up Heather up to date on everything since she's been passed out.
"Any before that?" She had asked.
Sam pulls out newspaper articles to show us.
"Yeah, in 1982, eight different people all vanished in the same year. Authorities said it was a grizzly attack." Sam told us.
We read the headline in The Lost Creek Gazette.
UP TO EIGHT HIKERS VANISH IN LOST CREEK AREA
H
IKERS DISAPPEARANCE BAFFLE AUTHORITIES'
Families continue search and rescue efforts in spite of disappointing....
"What if it is a bear, then what are we going to do and tell this Haley chick about her brother." Heather said as a pretty waitress came over to hand us a few beers.
"Well it wouldn't hurt to check it out would it." I had said.
"Yea, dad wouldn't just send us here for the hell of it." Sam said.
Heather nods her head takes a drink of her beer. "Ima play a round of pool you want to play Dean?" She asked me.
"Yea, give me a moment. Go play a round by yourself while I talk to Sammy for a second." I told her.
She nodded and went her way to a pool table with her beer. I watched her join a game with a few guys and a girl. Sam was on his laptop, looking up research about the missing hikers.
As Heather was playing a game, she was laughing and cutting up with the group of people over there. A guy had brought her a beer, she took it and smiled. She look like she was having fun. I started smiling a little bit at her.
The woman that was by Heather and the group, she came over towards Sam and I.
"How about a game of pool honey." She asked me.
"Sure." I told her.
I grabbed her hand and we went to the other pool table and started playing together.
Every move this girl made she would be all on me. Her ass on my junk, making me feel a little weird but in a good way.
I was having some fun with the guys in pool, when I saw the woman that was with us go over to Dean and they walked over to the other pool table. Every move she made she always had to have her ass on his junk. Bet Dean was liking that.
After I won this round of pool, I told the boys I be back. Had to use the girls room. At first I was trying to make it out a lie, but I did have to pee. When I got out of the bathroom, I didn't see Dean nor the woman. I went over to Sam that was on his laptop and sat down to take a drink of his beer.
"Where's Dean?" I had asked.
"Was playing pool with some woman. Unless he went to the restroom." He told me.
I nodded and walked away from the table. I needed some air.
I walked outside to catch some air and walked around the bar. When I walked around the bar, I had saw Dean. He was screwing the woman that he was playing pool with.
I dead stopped where I was, started tearing up.
"Dean...." I said shockingly
He stopped doing what he was doing looked at me for a second. I took off running towards the front. I went inside and went to Sam.
"I'm going to go walk to the nearest hotel." I told him.
He looked up at me. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?" He asked me.
"Dean... Is fucking... That woman... He was... Playing with..." I told him between cries.
I took off running out the bar and went to the car to grab my bag. I started running down the street. I heard Sam yell out my name but I just kept running. I didn't want to hear it. I just wanted to find a room and sleep. I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry myself yo sleep.
After I called out for Heather, she didn't stop. I tried calling her but her phone was off. Dead I'm guessing.
I took a deep breath and went back inside the bar and waited for Dean to come back. Which he did a few minutes later.
"Where's Heather?" He had asked.
I glared at him. "She took off running down the road." I told him as I pointed towards the way she went then closed my laptop.
"Why?"
"Because she saw you f*****g that woman behind the bar. So she took off to the nearest hotel." I told him as I got up.
"And you couldn't gone after her?" He asked me.
"I didn't have the keys, dumbass." I told him.
He threw me the keys and we walked outside to the car. I got in started the impala up and took off the way she went. Lucky there was a hotel not that far from the bar.
I pulled in the parking lot and went into the office.
"Hi was there a brown hair woman about 5 foot 3 inches come in here about less then 10 minutes ago?" I had asked.
"Yea, she looked really upset. She was crying and everything." He told me.
"What room is she in?" I had asked.
"Room 12a upstairs to your left. Its a one bed bedroom." He told me.
I nodded. "Oh okay, well I'll take a room for me and my brother please. Close to hers please. She's with us. We were at the bar down the street and she took off from there."
"Gotcha. That'll be $55 please."
I handed him $60 to pay for the room and he handed me keys to the room.
"12b is your room." He told me.
I nodded and walked back outside. I went to the car and threw the keys to Dean. I was going to go check on Heather.
"Keys to our room. I'm going to go fix your mess." I said as I started heading up to Heather's room.
"My mess, what did I do." Dean had asked when he got out of the car, almost falling out.
"Heather has a damn crush on you, and your f*****g random women in front of her." I kinda yelled at him.
"No she don't, or she would have been the one I was f*****g little bit ago." He said, as he started walking up to our room.
"That's all you think about is s*x, do yea." I said as he opened the door.
All Dean did was smiled and threw me the keys to the room and shut the door.
I shook my head then went to Heather's room. I knocked on the door a few times. Waited for her to open the door.
"Heather, its Sam. Can you please open the door."
"Sam, just leave me alone. Please, I'll be fine til morning. I just need some rest." I heard her mumbled.
"Okay, we're right next door. If you need anything." I told her.
I waited for her to say something else but she didn't so I had went to our room to go to bed. When I walked in, Dean was all spread out, passed out, on top of the bed not even under the covers. He didn't even take off his shoes or anything.
I ran my hand down my face, walked over to him to take off his shoes. After that I had went to my bed, took off my shoes and got into bed.
When I woke up the next day, I had went down the street to get us all some food and coffee. I had texted Heather to tell her I had some food and coffee in our room when she got up. When I walked into our room, Dean was walking out the bathroom, rubbing his hand over the back of his head.
When he saw me with coffee he walked over to the table and sat down to breath in that fresh hot coffee. About a few minutes, he looked around the room then looked at me.
"Where's Heather?" He asked me.
"Hah," I some what made a sound of a chuckle. "You would like to know." I said as I crossed my arms.
"Yes, I do. Now where is she." Dean said getting pissed.
"She got her own room, last night. She didn't want to near you after what you did." I told him.
"What did I do?" He asked.
"You f****d a random woman last night. And she saw it." I was saying. "She ran off from the bar crying her eyes out." I finished saying. "She clearly has a crush on you."
"I know she does. And so do I. Its just its complicated with me and her." He told me.
"Explain?" I knew the answer to it she told me but I wanted to see what he had to say.
"We can't be together. I'll worry to much about her if we're together. And the same with her."
"Y'all already do that now. And y'all ain't even together." I told him. "You clearly both like each other and want each other. Just talk to her and ask her out. Before she ends up finding someone else and its done and over with." I told him.
He knew I was right about it too, since he didn't abject to what I had said. After a little while, there was a knock on the door. I opened it and it was Heather.
"Hey, I got your message. Can I come in?" She asked me.
I opened the door wider so she could come in. She grabbed what I got her and sat on the bed. And I done the same. After I had ate, I went to the car to grab my bag and went into the bathroom to take a shower. Maybe me out of the room, they would talk.
Sam had went into the bathroom to take a shower while, I sat on one of the beds, drinking my coffee. Dean sat there drinking his and looking up at me every few moments.
"Heather, I'm sorry about last night. Sam told me what you saw." Dean had said.
I didn't say a word. I really didn't want to talk about last night. Yea, I saw you f**k some girl. Kinda wish it was me, but we can't be a thing.
"I don't know what to say to you about what you saw other then I'm sorry." He told me.
Of course you don't know what to say to me about what you did. At least someone around here got some.
"At least someone around here got some." I told him. "Let's just stick to the cases and not worry about each other." I told him.
"No, I am gonna worry about you. The whole time you were out cold, that's all I could do was worry about you. Every time were going to be out doing something dangerous, I'm going to be worried about you." He was telling me.
Where was he going with this. He already said we can't be together.
"Dean, just safe it please. Bad enough, me seeing you with another woman hurts. You can spear my feels." I started to say. "I'll help you find your father, but after we find him, I'm out. I'm going on my own." I told him.
I got up from the bed and walked towards the door. I gave him one last look before walking out. I went over to my room, shut the door and laid on the bed. Waited until it was time to leave to get this case over with. I laid there, it seems forever, I was crying softly into my pillow, not even noticing the door was opening until someone had touched my head.
I jumped a little to the touch, and looked over to see it was Dean. He climbed in behind me and wrapped his arms around me. We laid there until I stopped crying and rolled over and cuddled into Dean's chest.
"Heather, I don't want you to leave. Not now, not ever. I want you to stick with me forever. Through all the hard s**t, non crazy s**t, and even the crazy s**t. If I can deal with your damaged goods for being half angel half demon then you can deal with me and my brother. Mostly me. I care way to much for every one but myself. I try to be tough to prove to myself that I have someone or something to hang on to. I have Sam, my father, to worry about and take care of." He was saying. He took a deep breathe then went on. "I know Sam can take care of himself and so can my father but they're all I have left to live for. And now you. The moment we kissed, I knew I had done f****d up. I had to see you again but I didn't know how I would find you. I just want to be with you, near you." He was telling me.
"Dean, stop please." I told him. I looked up into his eyes and began again. "You did f**k up by kissing me. After that I couldn't stop thinking about you either but we just met. We don't even know much about each other. Let's just stick to hunting for now. Go slow. Then if that's what we want then maybe, just maybe we can try. But right now, I'm too damaged," I said using his words he used on me. "I need to find who I am first. To find out about my parents." I told him.
"I can help you with that. Let's say its payback for you helping me find my father." He told me.
I took a deep breathe and sighed. "Fine. But once it gets too hard, to dangerous, your out. No ifs or buts you got that Winchester." I told him.
"For now, I can deal with it." He said.
I nodded and we cuddled until there was a knock on the door.
"Guys, let's go find what's killing these hikers." Sam called through the door.
I shook my head and sighed once more. Dean got up and grabbed my hand then leaned over to grab my bag. I smiled at him and we walked out the room, to meet up with Sam, at the car. Dean was still holding my hand, as we got to the car, Sam was sitting in the car, looked up when he saw us. He started smiling when he saw us holding hands walking together.
Dean went to the trunk and I went to the back seat. I leaned forward to whisper in Sam's ear.
"Not what you think, Sammy." I told him.
He turned around to look at me like he was going to say something but Dean end up getting in the car.
"Let's get this show in the roll." He said as he started up his car and turned on the radio.
When he turned on the radio, 'Don't Stop Believing' by Journey started playing. I shook my head, and lean forward to turn it up a little. This was my song. I started singing.
"Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere" I sung.
"Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere" Dean sung.
"A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on" I was singing.
Then Dean joined me.
"Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night
Streetlight, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin' somewhere in the night"
"Workin' hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anythin' to roll the dice
Just one more time" Dean sung.
"Some will win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
And now the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on" I had sung.
"Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night" Dean sung.
"Streetlight, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin' somewhere in the night" I sung.
"Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight, people
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight, people
Don't stop!" Both Dean and I sung the ending together.

Dean was something else, but we both loved our rock music. We both were laughing at each other. Sam turned him head and stared at us. He shook his head at us. I laughed at him. I looked up at the rearview mirror and saw Dean looking at me. He winked at me and I started blushing.
Sam and Dean were talking about the case, saying we were going into the forest where the hikers were missing. Thank god I changed into pants and put my boots.
As we pull up, 3 people were staring. The woman shakes her head. As Sam and Dean get out, I reached down on the floor and grabbed my leather jacket, Sam opens the back door of the Impala, being nice, letting me out and grabs the duffel bag. On the other side of me.
As we all was getting ready for this hike to find her brother, I had to hear the old man and woman argue over the younger boy. About him should have stayed at home. I stopped and looked at them.
"Look here, all 3 of you guys should have stayed home if that's all your gonna do is argue." I said pointing at all 3 of them. "Its not safe out in the woods, none of y'all should be out here."
"And y'all should." The old man said. "I've hunted bears and shit."
"So your a deer hunter, but were professionals. We do this for living. Because if your 3 get hurt or killed out there. Its not going to be on us. I warned you. So did the sheriff too, Haley. Your brother had a permit to be out here and said when he was coming back." I said getting very mad.
Dean came over to me and put his hand on my shoulder. It took Dean and every inch in my body not to do anything stupid. We finally reach the camp that Haley's brother was staying at. The camp was destroy and I felt bad after what I had said to Haley. I walked over to the tent looking at all the blood and scratch marks. I've seen this before.
"Not again." I mumbled. Dean was close to me when I said this.
"Sam." Dean said and jerked his head over to us.
"What's up." He said as he looked at the tent.
"I know what this is." I said.
"What is it?" Dean asked.
"The same creature I saved your father from; a Wendigo." I whispered.
"A Wendigo?" Sam asked.
"Yes." I nodded. "And we're about to have a whole lot of trouble with him with these people. They are in danger." I told them.
"What do you mean?" Dean asked.
"They like to play with their prey, mock voices of the ones they captured. And if her brother was here, its got him and is going to use its voice." I told them.
"s**t," Dean said.
"How do you kill it." Sam asked.
"Fire, like a flare gun. And its not going to be pretty either." I told them.
I turned around from them and walked over to the others. Sam and Dean followed behind and close.
"Listen up here." I called out. "I want everyone to stay close to each other. And whatever you hear, do not. I repeat DO NOT go after the noise." I told them.
"What do you mean by that?" The old man asked.
"Just do what my partner said." Dean told him. "We're gonna camp here for tonight since its getting late and dark, Sam go fetch up some wood to start a fire." Dean told Sam.
"Stay close where we can see you and you can hear us." I told him.
He nodded at his brother and me, then walked away. I stood there looking at the others. Dean put his hands on my shoulders and I leaned my head on his chest. I was standing there thinking how we we're gonna destroy this Wendigo. I didn't want to pull a part 2 like last time.
While thinking, I was also listening as well. I could listen better than the others. I closed my eyes while leaning against Dean as I was sensing around the area. I could feel where Sam was and the others.
Someone was walking close by, I didn't have to open my eyes to see who it was. Haley grabs Dean's arm, making both of us jump a little.
"So who the hell are you guys? Y'all don't look like rangers by the way you two are close like y'all are." Haley asking.
Ben, the younger boy walks past us to a log that was by the fire that Sam got going. Sam looks at us, who indicates with his expression, making Sam to go on what he was doing; Sam obeys. Dean watches him go for a moment then looks down at me.
"Sam and I are brothers, and Heather is a family friend; also my girl. She's helping us look for our father. He might be here, we don't know. I just figured that you and me, we're in the same boat." Dean told her.
"Why didn't you just tell me that from the start?" She told him.
"I'm telling you now. 'sides, it's probably the most honest I've ever been with a woman. ...ever. Other than Heather here. So we okay?" Dean told her.
I closed my eyes again still listening. There was a pause for a moment. Thought she had gave up and walked away. But I was wrong.
"Yeah, okay." She told him then walked away.
As I was still listening, I had touched Dean's hand on my shoulder. Letting him know I heard him calling me his girl. He kissed my head.
I smiled at that. Even though we said we would take it slow and wait but its fine to me right now. He's keeping me calm.
As I was sensing, it was too quiet. Not a single sound from any animals. I didn't like it. That's when I heard it. A stick snapping to the right of me then I heard it holler. I snapped my eyes opened.
"Help!!! Someone help me!!" It called out.
"Its here." I mumbled.
The old man took off with his rifle towards the voice.
"Roy, no don't." I yelled out. But it was no help.
Dean and I took off to go after Roy. We kept hearing the thing call out for help. As we got to Roy, Sam and the others was following behind us. We found no one, not even the creature.
"It sounded like it came from over here." Haley had said.
When I had saw the others behind me, I got worried. "Let's get back to the camp." I called out.
Back at the campsite, all the supplies are missing.
"Our packs!" Haley called out.
"So much for my GPS and my satellite phone." Roy said.
"What the hell is going on?" Haley asked.
"It's smart. It wants to cut us off so we can't call for help." I had said.
"You mean someone, some nutjob out there just stole all our gear." Roy asked.
"Yes." I told him.
Sam come over to Dean and I.
"I need to speak with you two. In private." Sam told us.
Sam, Dean, and I head a little ways away from the group.
"Let me see Dad's journal." He asked Dean.
Dean hands it over. Sam opens it and flips through until he finds a particular page.
"All right, check that out."
Sam points to a First Nations–style drawing of a figure.
"Wendigo are in the Minnesota woods or, or northern Michigan. I've never even heard of one this far west." Dean read.
"Think about it, Dean, the claws, the way it can mimic a human voice. Heather is right, on what it is." Sam said.
"If you knew I was right, then why did you have to look at John's journal for?" I had asked.
"
To make sure. I'm sorry, I didn't doubt you, its just like Dean said, there's never been out this far before." Sam said.
I nodded at him. I took a deep breathe. I started thinking, I needed to protect everyone. I went to the fire and sat down close to it. I crossed my legs and put my hands into the dirt, concentrating. After a few moments, Dean walked over to me.
"What is she doin'?" Haley had asked. "There's something out there that stole our s**t and she's sitting down like nothing happened here."
I didn't say anything. "What are you doin'?" He asked me.
"I'm doing a spell to keep it out, away from us." I told him.
Of course Haley's b***h ass heard me. "A spell? What are you?" She had asked.
Fuck. "I'm a..." I couldn't tell them what I was.
"She's a witch." Dean lied for me.
"A witch, but your a ranger?" Roy asked.
"Yes, I am. But I help for the greater good. Now will y'all shut up so I can concentrate. I'm making a barrier spell." I said.
I went back to what I was going. I dug my fingers into the dirt, grabbed hands full. I threw it in the fire then stuck my hand into the fire and grabbing a handful of the fire.
I stood up and walked around the campsite. I blew the fire as I walked around to seal a invisible circle. But once I connect the ends of the circle you could see the barrier forming over us.
"Nothing can get in from any direction. Only ones allowed in or out is us." I spoke.
As I said that, I heard noises. I turned my head towards the noise.
A twig snaps.
Someone, presumably the Wendigo "Help me! Please!"
Dean stands and readies his gun.
"Help!"
Sam shines a flashlight about.
"He's trying to draw us out. Just stay cool, stay put." I said.
"Inside the magic circle?" Roy asked.
"Help! Help me!"
Growling.
Roy points his gun at the sound. "Okay, that's no grizzly."
Haley talks to Ben. "It's okay. You'll be all right, I promise."
Something rushes past. Haley shrieks.
"It's here." Sam calls out.
Roy shoots at the rustling, then again. "I hit it!" Roy goes to see what he hit.
"Roy, no! Roy!" Dean and I yelled out to the old man.
Dean turns to Haley, Ben, and me. "Don't move. And you stay here and protect them." Dean told me.
I nodded at him. Haley's holding a stick, burning at one end, as a weapon. Dean and Sam run after Roy.
"Roy!" You can hear Dean and Sam calling after him.
Haley was shaking and Ben was sitting down by the fire as he watched me. I started hearing noises again so I put my hand into the fire again and tossed it towards where I heard it coming.
"Whoa, watch it Heather." Dean says as he comes out of the woods with Sam behind me.
I ran towards him into his arms. He wrapped his arms around me.
"Sorry." I told him.
"Where's Roy?" Haley asked.
"Dead." Sam telling us.
Sam is sitting against a hollow tree stump, holding John's journal and playing with a lanyard attached to same. Dean walked Haley and Ben to one of the good tents. So they can sleepest for right now.
I stood outside the tent to look out, listening to every thing.
"I don't...I mean, these types of things, they aren't supposed to be real." Haley said.
"I wish I could tell you different." Dean had told her.
"How do we know it's not out there watching us?"
"We don't. But we're safe for now." Dean told her. "Plus Heather has a spell around us. She'll know if it comes close. Trust in her. 'Cause I sure do." He told her.
"How do you know about this stuff?" She had asked him.
There was a pause for a while. Guessing Dean was considering what to tell her.
"Kind of runs in the family." He told her.
Sam comes over to us.
"Hey." Sam called out.
I stand up, as he was coming over.
"So we've got half a chance in the daylight. And I for one want to kill this evil son of a bitch." Sam said.
"Well, hell, you know I'm in." Dean told him.
Sam shows the Wendigo page of John's journal to Haley and Ben. Telling them what were dealing with. I tried to stay out of it. Keeping watch for the Wendigo.
"'Wendigo' is a Cree Indian word. It means 'evil that devours'." Sam told them.
"They're hundreds of years old. Each one was once a man. Sometimes an Indian, or other times a frontiersman or a miner or hunter."
"How's a man turn into one of those things?" Haley asked.
Dean picks a couple things up off the ground.
"Well, it's always the same. During some harsh winter a guy finds himself starving, cut off from supplies or help. Becomes a cannibal to survive, eating other members of his tribe or camp." Dean said.
Damn I didn't know that. Well I've only dealt with one.
"Like the Donner Party." The younger boy said.
"Cultures all over the world believe that eating human flesh gives a person certain abilities. Speed, strength, immortality." Sam said.
"If you eat enough of it, over years, you become this less than human thing. You're always hungry."Dean told us.
"So if that's true, how can Tommy still be alive?" Haley said.
"You're not gonna like it." Dean told her.
Dean glances at Sam, then back to Haley.
"Tell me." She had asked them.
"More than anything, a Wendigo knows how to last long winters without food. It hibernates for years at a time, but when it's awake it keeps its victims alive. It, uh, it stores them, so it can feed whenever it wants. If your brother's alive, it's keeping him somewhere dark, hidden, and safe. We gotta track it back there." Dean told her.
"And then how do we stop it?" She had asked.
"Well, guns are useless, so are knives. Basically," Dean holds up the can of lighter fluid, the beer bottle, and the white cloth he'd picked up. "We gotta torch the sucker."
When dean had brought up track Tommy, I thought of a tracking spell well kinda not a spell but I can smell him out.
"I can track your brother and kill this Wendigo." I finally spoke for the first time.
Every one looked at me like I was crazy. I went over to the tent and looked at Haley.
"You have anything that was your brothers?" I had asked.
"Not on me but maybe in his tent." She said as she went over here. She came back with a jacket. "This was his, I made him bring it with him." She told me as she handed it to me.
I walked over to the fire and sat down cross legged.
"Whatever y'all do. Please be quiet." I said as I held the jacket in my hands and mumbled a few words. When I got Tommy's smell, I snapped my eyes and got up. I threw down his jacket and looked at the others. "I got him. Now stay close and Dean get ready to burn that bitch." I told him.
We started walking towards whatever the smell was taking me. I was so into Tommy I didn't even notice the Wendigo was close. Not until I heard Haley scream.
I turned around and both Haley and Dean were gone.
"Dean!" Both me and Sam yelled out.
"Haley!" Ben yelled out as well.
"I swear if I lose your brother, that son of b***h will regret meeting me." I told Sam, freaking out.
"We'll get my brother back and your sister and brother. Follow the trail of Tommy. Wherever he's at they're at." He told me.
I nodded and followed the trail again. It lead me to an old mine.
It felt like we been walking through this old mine for hours until we found them. Haley, Dean, and Tommy were still alive. I ran to Dean as Ben and Sam ran her to Haley and Tommy.
I started to tear up when I got a hold of Dean. I was scared he was gone. After making sure everyone was okay and well. I heard the Wendigo growling. I found our packs on the ground and grabbed the flare guns and all the flares.
I looked at the others then where the Wendigo was coming from.
"Sam," I called out as I threw him a flare gun with a few flares. "Get Haley and her family out of here now." I told him as I looked at Dean. "Dean your with me, on killing this son of bitch." I told him as I threw him a flare gun and a few flares.
"Heather, no we all stick together." Sam said.
"Sam, do what she says." Dean told him.
"I have a plan, Dean and I are going to call it out, to get it away from you guys. After 3 minutes, run the hell out of here." I told him.
Sam looked at his brother then me. He nodded then looked at Haley and her brothers.
Dean and I took off going one way, leaving them behind. When we got 3 minutes away from Sam and them, we started yelling for the Wendigo to come find us.
It came after us alright, Dean went to shoot it and missed. The Wendigo was smart, he moved out of the way. Well he's not that smart as me.
Dean took off to go after his brother to make sure they were safe. They were at the mines entrance when I finally got to them where the Wendigo had hit me knocking me against the mine walls.
I was living a part two of this all over again. And I told myself I didn't want to do that.
Dean stood at the entrance yelling at the b***h to leave me alone. Dean shot at it but again he moved. I got up and started walking backwards towards Dean as I got my flare gun ready. The Wendigo came at me and right at the last second I shot it right as it hit me throwing me towards Dean, with it exploding, sending both me and Dean flying out of the cave.
Sam came running towards us, checking on us. I was laying on top of dean facing him. Apparently he caught me as I was flying out before I hit the ground. When I looked up, he was covered in blood and guts as I was my first time with a Wendigo. I started laughing at him as I rolled over onto the down to get up.
"Oh we laughing now. Your not so hot yourself, sweetheart." Dean told me as we both got up.
"Yea, I knew I was gonna get hit with it, like last time. But least it wasn't just me this time." I said laughing.
Sam looked at us. "So you both are okay?" He asked us.
We nodded and we all head towards where we started off at. Sam had called the sheriff and he pulled up with some help.
An ambulance loads up Tom. Two police officers interview Ben; Sam stands behind Ben.
"And the bear came back again after you yelled at it?" The officer had asked Ben.
"
That's when it circled the campsite. I mean, this grizzly must have weighed eight hundred, nine hundred pounds."
Sam nods as the officer looked at him. This was a weird lie but I guess they are buying it.
"All right, we'll go after it first thing."
Haley comes over to where Dean and I are at by the Impala to try and clean ourselves off, to talk to Dean; both have already been patched up from when they Wendigo got them.
"So I don't know how to thank you guys." She started to say.
Dean smirks lasciviously. Haley smiles despite herself. I just roll my eyes at her.
"Must you cheapen the moment?" She told him.
"Yeah." Dean says.
A paramedic comes up to Haley.
"You riding with your brother?"
"Yeah." She told him.
The paramedic heads back to the ambulance. Haley turns to BEN.
"Let's go, Ben." She called out.
Sam and Ben nod at each other. Haley kisses Dean on the cheek.
"I hope you find your father." She says after she kisses Dean on the cheek.
Haley and Ben head for the ambulance. And I look at Dean after she left. I was kinda pissed off that she kissed him he clearly told her I was his girl.
"What?" Dean asked me as he looked at me.
"Nothing. Forget it." I said as I crossed my arms.
"Are you upset she kissed my cheek." He asked me. I didn't answer him. "You've kissed Sam on the cheek and you don't see me getting upset.
I glared at him. "Big difference, Dean. He's family, she's not." I said.
I look at Sam as he comes over, sits on the Impala's hood with Dean and I, as we watch the paramedic's work.
"Close her up." One of the paramedic's said.
A third paramedic closes the ambulance doors.
"Man, I hate camping." Dean said.
"
Me too." Sam second that.
I laughed at them. "It ain't that bad y'all, if you don't have no Wendigo's or creatures hunting us." I told them still laughing.
Noises of the ambulance driving away, sirens on.
Dean tosses Sam the keys. Sam, Dean, and I get in the car, slamming the doors almost in sync.
O
ff to our next adventure to finding John.
Sorry if this is kinda long, try to add some of season 1 episode 2 into it. Hoped y'all like it so far.
Am I the only one that thinks Heather and Dean are somewhat cute when they have their little fights. Even though they told each other their feelings, will they be able to work and not fool around with each other or others.
Keep reading on to find that out.
