Chapter 1

Isabella I looked in the mirror. He always liked when I wear red lipstick. He says that it makes me look even more beautiful. He loved it when I let my waist length hair down. Tonight I am dressed to impress. And tonight I want him to think that I am the most beautiful woman he had seen in his life which was absolutely not true but still. One last layer of red lipstick and I walked out of the room. The bottle green off shoulder gown was one of the dress that he had gifted me and tonight is the best occasion for it. I walked towards the dining room where I had placed the dinner for us. The clock on the wall showed eight and I knew that he would be coming home any minute. I told all the maids that they could go home now, I want to spend some time alone with my husband. I hope I love what I have prepared for him. As if on cue the main door of our penthouse opened, revealing none other than my husband, Christian. He looked as handsome as ever, his black hair a mess but still somehow looked perfect. The tie hang loose on his neck and his shirt looked wrinkled, still he managed to look beyond beautiful. His eyes widened when he finally looked at me and I smiled at him. His reaction was normal, I never waited for him to welcome him home, it would be awkward if I did that. “Welcome home.” I said, smile never leaving my face as I watched Christian's gaze travel all over my body. The green gown that he had gifted me hugged all my curves perfectly. It was off shoulder and it emphasises my features. The slit on this dress was where Christian gaze had stopped. “You look beautiful.” He spoke when his eyes finally met mine. He carelessly threw his suitcase on the sofa as he made his way towards me. “Is something special today?” He asked as he grabbed me by my waist and pulled me close. He was at least a head taller than me and I had look up to meet his gaze, especially when he was standing so close to me. I smiled at him despite the small disappointment that made it way in my heart. Of course he didn't remembered. “It's our second marriage anniversary.” I said with smile that didn't let him hear the sound of my heart breaking. “Oh.” He sounded genuinely surprised. “Two years huh? Time surely flies fast.” He said and gave me a smile that did things to me. “Happy anniversary, baby.” He spoke as he grabbed the back on my head to pull me in a kiss. Rough and aggressive, just like he had always kissed me. His mouth tasted like red wine and I pull away from him. “You were drinking?” I asked, with a tilt of my head. He never drinks on weekdays because most of the time he works way too late and goes to work way too early. “Stella came back this morning. We went together to celebrate.” He said as he once again pulled me in a kiss and I let him do as he pleased. Stella was back… The name had haunted me throughout my married days with Christian and the way he casually tells me about her whereabouts did nothing to sooth my aching heart. “Did you eat your dinner?” I against his lips. “No. Was not hungry.” He managed to say before chasing my lips again however I stopped him. “I hope you are hungry now because I didn't make all your favourite dishes for nothing.” I said and he looked at the dining table that was behind me. “What's the need for this, Bella? We could have just celebrated this night in the bed.” He said with a smirk as his hands travelled my body. He gave a squeeze to my butt and I swatted his hand away, laughing. “We always do that.” I reminded him. “For once I wanted to have dinner together like a normal wife and husband.” I said and he looked at me with furrowed brows. He looked confused at my statement but I just pecked his lips again before removing his hands around me. “Okay.” He said as I pulled him towards the dining table. The dining table was way too big for us. It could hold a family of eight and we were clearly not going to be that family, ever, no matter how much I wanted that to happen. We sat opposite each other and I watched him take some of the shepherd's pie on his plate. I smiled, remembering how Georgia, my mother-in-law, had told me that it was Christian's favourite food. I watched him eat, his brows furrowing as he took the bite. It was his signature expression whenever he ate anything delicious. He had never given me any compliments that were not regarding my looks, my body or how good i was in the bed. I watched him eat the food, trying to remember each of his expressions. We ate in silence, he never liked to talk much or you could say that he never liked to talk with me if it was outside the bed. Once we ate the piece of a coffee flavoured cake, I gathered the plates and made my way towards the sink. I was about to wash them when two strong arms encircled my waist. I then felt his hot breath against my skin. “What are you doing, Bella?” “Washing the dishes , as you can see.” I told him as he left a kiss under my jaw. His hands squeezed my waist lightly before his grip turned firmed as he turned me around. “The dishes can wait, I can't.” He said before he pulled me into a kiss. His soft lips kissed me passionately and I let him kiss me , like I always did. No matter what, I always let him do whatever he wants because part of me will always crave for him. His hands travelled all over my body and it left a hot trail wherever he touched. He blazed skin with his touch and I let him. We somehow ended up in my bed, clothes thrown carelessly on the floor. My gown was torn and I could not even mourn over it as Christian was distracting me with other … things. Like always I fell apart under his touch. I screamed his name as my toes curved inwards, a shudder ran through my entire body as I pulled him closer. I knew that he was close too because his moves were frantic and sloppy. He hid his face in my neck, biting and sucking on my skin. His grip tightened around my hips as his moves turned even faster. I held him close, not wanting this night to end so quickly. I liked it when he held me so delicately yet firmly. I liked to thing that he is mine, even though he is not. “Stella…” He moaned as he finished inside me. My heart stopped for a second before breaking down into several pieces. He put all his weight on my body as he tried to catch his breath. My eyes began to sting with unshed tears but I refused to cry, not tonight, no. Instead , I hugged him. Wanting to remember what it felt like to hold him closer. I felt him relax on me , his breathing slowing down a little. I wished that this moment will last forever. “Christian?” I called as I combed my fingers through his dark locks. “Hmm?” He sounded sleepy. “You haven't given me my gift.” I voiced and he chuckled before placing a kiss on my neck. “What do you want, sweetheart?” He said , still not looking at me. “You know that I could buy you anything.” True. Christian was one of the richest businessmen in our country. There is nothing he can't buy. “Anything?” I asked, still. “Yes. Anything.” “Then give me a divorce.”
