Chapter Sixteen Nick was tired but excited as he parked the Mustang and then headed across his front yard. He had been away for five days, working on an empty farmhouse in the Connecticut countryside. Nick hadn’t rushed the job, but he had been keen to get back because he missed the hell out of Lucy. He had phoned her every day and, lying in his hotel room at night, couldn’t help but wonder what she was up to.
