Chapter 11: As They Come They Go (3) *** “That is?” Drew quickly asked as he leaned forward a bit more. The quiet atmosphere in the kitchen making it more uncomfortable when it was so deathly silent. “Usually if Lucas acts like that… Mason would just waltz in and asks him what’s the matter... Then listen to him and make him laugh some…” Nathan explained but he wasn’t too sure how they were supposed to do something like that. “Easier said than done… I guess…” “Well not necessarily… We could do the same and if he doesn’t want to open the door for us then… you know there isn’t just one entrance to the room either.” Drew said as if a light bulb had been light up in his head. “Huh?” Nathan had a confused look on his face as he watched the other stand up and head out… * * * “I didn’t mean to make him go out like that… f**k me…” Lucas muttered to himself then suddenly heard a loud knock behind him. He was startled as he looked up. “The Hell…” He got up and went near the terrace, pulling the curtain back. “Hey.” Drew said as he waved his hand and Nathan was next to him. They were outside the locked terrace just smiling pretty much like some creepy stalkers. “Why… the Hell are you two out there?! How did you even get there?!” Lucas quickly let them inside, thinking the neighbors might see them. “Oh, Miss Fatima allowed us to use her terrace. You know how difficult it was to climb over? It’s further away than I thought it was…” Drew spoke with a rather casual voice which was typical of him. “I was about to give up…” Nathan admitted. “It’s so high up… and beneath there’s only death…” He felt dizzy and his entire face was flushed after that adventure he went through. “Funny word to use for ‘cement’” Drew remarked as he turned his attention back to Lucas who began yelling at them. “Why didn’t you just walk through the door?! Do you want to hurt yourselves?!” Lucas yelled at them for doing something so dangerous for no apparent reason. “The door was locked. And we didn’t hurt ourselves.” Drew said again in the most casual of voices and with a big smile on his face. He then made himself comfortable on the bed. “You should have just asked… and I would have…” Lucas suddenly realized he had locked them out just to avoid conflict. ‘Did they do that s**t just to talk with me?’ He wondered to himself as he looked at the two of them. “Before you get any funny ideas… We did it just because I thought it would be fun. Nothing much more than that…” Drew admitted as he smiled brightly at the man. “WE DID IT BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO?!” Nathan yelled out as he grabbed the other by the collar. “I DID NOT JUST DO THAT BECAUSE YOU FELT LIKE IT!” “Haha! You got your energy back again!” Drew said as he allowed the other to pull at his collar a bit more before getting rid of him. “And here I thought you two had done something amazing…” Lucas face palmed as he sighed loudly once again, thinking about what his friends had just done for nothing. ‘Still even though these two are complete idiots… I’m sure they wanted to just cheer me up a bit… ah… why can I never just talk when it comes to this…’ “We did do something amazing! Didn’t I tell you how high that was?” Drew said in a teasing manner. “If anything I’d say this was an achievement… actually two in one since we actually managed to enter.” “…So what do you want me to do? Apologize?” Lucas asked with a serious look in his eyes. He didn’t seem to understand why he’d have to apologize in the first place. “Not if you don’t want to… An apology doesn’t mean much if you’re forced into it… So just do whatever feels right to you…” Drew said as he put his hand on the man’s shoulder. “But… you have to think if being right is better than being there for your friend when he needs you the most. That’s the actual choice you have to make…” This wasn’t a ‘who’s wrong’ and ‘who’s right’ situation. Since both of them were at fault for starting the fight in the first place and it ending the way it did. All this came down to was who was willing to be the bigger person to keep the peace. And was one silly argument really a reason for them to ruin a livelong friendships? “You’re such a pain in the ass…” Lucas seemed to have came to his senses for the first time in a long while. He exhaled loudly for maybe the third time already. “Aren’t we all pains in the butt? I thought that was obvious.” Drew said as he turned to look at Nathan who was laying down in bed still feeling dizzy from the entire performance they gave just now. “I guess this was a bit too much for him eh…” “You think?” Lucas asked as he sat back down on his bed. “Hah… so… should I call him or…?” He began contemplating his next actions. “How about we go visit him? After Nate wakes up that is, since he’s the only one that knows the address.” Drew explained as he pointed to the man that was already asleep. “Wait… Mason has an apartment? Isn’t it the one that he got with Ed? But they broke up and all…” Lucas seemed to be out of the loop still not knowing all the details. “Yeah but he left it to him, which is a bit too much of an expensive present if you ask me…” Drew said as he put his hand up to his chin and rubbed it as if he was a detective from a mystery story trying to unravel the latest crime scene…
