You’re Framing Me

1172 Words
Upon hearing Calista's order for the two maids to come in, Gillian secretly let out a sigh of relief. Emma didn't expect that she'd be called in to be interrogated, right? So Gillian believed that there was no way that the maids would have been secretly settled by Emma. Gillian's lips curved slightly in anticipation. She couldn't wait to see Emma's old, ugly face slapped hard when the two maids came into the greenhouse to tell the truth. In less than 5 minutes, the two maids were ushered into the greenhouse. The two maids respectfully bowed as soon as they stepped into the greenhouse. “Master, Madam, Miss.” The maids bowed and greeted each other respectfully. Calista ignored their greetings and leaned back in the chair. “Both of you bypassed Emma and Miss Gillian when they were both arguing earlier, didn't you? What do you hear?” She asked straightforwardly, her gaze not bothering to fall on the two. The two maids exchanged glances before their gazes fell on Gillian and Emma. With a loud thud, they fell on their knees, lowered their heads, and began to explain. “Master, Madam, and Miss, while we were passing by, we heard Head Maid Emma telling Miss Gillian to change her stinking dress, but Miss Gillian refused while acting very domineering to Head Maid Emma,” the two clarified at the same time. Emma's old lips rose slightly in joy. Of course, Albrecht's family maids are smart enough to know what to say and what not to say. How can an illegitimate daughter with many scandals who had just stepped into the mansion be able to blend in immediately? Of course, Gillian can't! The two maids who had been working in the Albrecht family were smart enough to observe things and know what sides to choose if they wanted to continue working smoothly in the Albrecht family. Gillian was standing when the two maids stepped into the greenhouse, and Gillian was called Miss Gillian instead of sister-in-law by Calista, which means that the Albrecht family didn't like Gillian. After all the scandals that circulated about Gillian online, it will be a wonder if the Albrecht family likes such a person as Gillian. Observing all those things, the maids already realized that Gillian's status might be lower than that of head maid Emma in the Albrecht mansion, so they quickly switched up the truth. After all, after the maid’s support for Head Maid Emma, Head Maid Emma will be satisfied with them, and their life in the mansion will be better from now on. However, if they decide to tell the truth and support Gillian, Head Maid Emma will be dissatisfied with them and make their lives a living hell from then on. “You. You're framing me!” Gillian cried out, her limpid, big black eyes widening in disbelief and grievance. She couldn't believe that the two maids who she expected to testify and tell the truth would choose to backstab her. However, thinking about it, she was nothing to the Albrecht family. Of course, the maid will quickly switch things up and testify against her. Emma's eyes widened in shock as if she couldn't believe that Gillian would continue to deny it. She fell on her knees with a loud thud and banged her head on the hard floor repeatedly while crying out. “Young Miss Gillian, what do you mean this poor old maid is framing you? This old maid was completely unaware that I'd be called in to be interrogated; how could this old maid plan to frame you?” The two maids immediately kowtowed and nodded in support of Emma. “That's right! Miss Gillian, we also didn't know we would be interrogated. “Enough!” suddenly Augustus’ grandpa, Mr. Albrecht, coldly ordered, his thick voice booming immediately, putting a stop to the display in the greenhouse. “You three can leave now.” Calista immediately waved Emma and the two maids away coldly. “Yes, Master, Madam, and Miss.” The three immediately stood up and bowed before they walked out of the greenhouse, a joyful glint flickering past their eyes. Feeling the cold hawk's eyes fall on her, Gillian's stomach churns and her mood falls. She anxiously shook her head and cried out, “I'm really speaking the truth. We can check the…” “You're not done with embarrassing yourself?” Mr. Albrecht coldly yet calmly interrupted. He elegantly poured herbal tea from an expensive jug into the cup, and the tea's aromatic scent immediately drifted and blended with the unique plant scent of the greenhouse. Gillian's lips parted immediately to defend herself, but before she could, Mr. Albrecht calmly interrupted. “Scandals about you filled every media. There's no wonder your father switched the bride and tossed you to our family to take care of.” The man indifferently said while stirring the tea. “Our Albrecht family differs from your Arison family; you can't bring in trashy behavior into here; we won't accommodate any of them.” As soon as Mr. Albrecht spoke, he lifted the cup of tea and elegantly drank from it. Gillian's face turned white as if it had been completely drained of blood, and she clenched her fist. Renata raised her chin and stared at the pale-faced Gillian with contempt. “Someone low like you isn't worthy to be Augustus’ wife; you can only be nothing but a nanny to him. In four years, you'll serve as Augustus’ nanny to pay the debt of your family. After that period, you will get divorced without compensation, and if he's healed before that, you'll leave after you serve your term.” Renata conveyed it with a cold voice. Gillian's face paled. Her heart thrummed against her chest, and her body trembled, but she clenched her fist to calm down. Unfortunately, she couldn't, no matter how she tried. Why is her life so pitiful? Is she the only human being in the world? Heaven must dislike her so much to keep sending one terrible event after another to her, right? Tears spilled past Gillian's cheeks, and her lips quivered. At that moment, Gillian seemed to have grown 10 years older. Her whole figure was so frail that it seemed the breeze could blow her away. The wet tears that spilled past her cheeks jolted her awake from her sadness. She quickly wiped her tears and nodded, trying to see the light in everything. Isn't it just four years? That means she could gain her freedom after four years, which was better than getting her whole life given to Albrecht's family on a platter. Gillian nodded stiffly and sniffed. “I understand, madam, master.” “It's good that you understand. Later, you'll be given a document to go through. Sit down.” Renata domineeringly uttered. Gillian nodded and immediately walked towards the dining chair at the end and stiffly sat down, wishing for nothing more than for the meal to quickly end.
