Instantly, Gillian understood what was happening. Willa must have realized that Luke was nearby, which was the reason Willa acted out such an incredible play.
Gillian's heart tightened with pain as she stared at the handsome face she had known for years. They had been so close a few days ago. They had happily talked about their future a few days ago but somehow, it felt as if they were nothing but a stranger.
Now it had gotten to the point where Luke would choose to support Gillian's sister rather than Gillian, the woman he loved.
A disparaging chuckle spilled past Gillian's lips. Oh, is she kidding, the two had already gotten engaged. Gillian is no longer the woman Luke loved. Rather, Willa is. Willa had always been.
Willa grabbed Luke's hand and shook her head softly, her eyes pooled with tears and her lips quivered. Her delicate actions repeatedly stir sorrow into everyone's heart. “No Luke. Don't blame younger sister, it's not younger sister's fault. It's just that younger sister loves you too much. Younger sister, I'm sorry, it's elder sister's fault. I was the reason younger sister wasn't able to be with the man she loved. Wuu. Wuuu.” Before Willa could complete her words, she burst into soft tears, her body shaking delicately in Luke's embrace.
Although it might sound like Willa cares about Gillian. In truth, the subtle meaning behind her words is that Gillian pushed her because Gillian believed that Willa was the one who came in between Luke.
Luke felt his heart get stabbed by the pain. He hugged Willa softly before his cold gaze bore at Gillian's body. “Gillian, you disgust me. I can never be interested in such a shameless evil woman like you. The innocent Willa had always been the woman in my heart. Not in your dream will I get entangled with a vicious vixen like you. Not in life.” Luke shot coldly.
Gillian's face paled immediately and her body trembled. Although she thought that seeing Luke protect Willa and ignore her was already a stab in her heart, hearing Luke say such crude words to her was a big stab in her heart. Luke, the man she had loved for years, had just called her disgusting. He had just called her vicious. He had just called her a vixen. Hot tears welled in her eyes and a gripping pain enveloped her. A few days ago she had believed that her life had been successfully made up, but now she realized that she had plunged into the abyss!
Willa's lips curved in a smirk which she quickly hid by lowering her head. She had just begun with this b***h!
“Luke…”
“Don’t you ever let my name fall from your lips. I hate when a vile and disgusting person like you pronounces my name.” He bellowed, causing her heart to rip louder with pain.
Upon seeing what Gillian had just done to Willa, a fuming Roger Arison, and Kathy Arison stepped into the room.
Roger Arison raised his hand and all the dressing staff members dispersed from the room.
Roger Arison walked toward Gillian in a large stride and raised his hand fiercely.
Immediately, a crisp slap fell on Gillan's face.
Gillian's face whipped to the side due to the impact and tears pooled in her eyes, her heart and face dripping with pain.
Willa groaned silently and reached out toward her dad anxiously. Unfortunately, before she could, she collapsed on Luke.
"Dad, no, you misunderstood younger sister. Younger sister was only annoyed at the fact that Luke and I got engaged. You know sister had a fiery temper. She didn't push me on purpose. Don't hurt younger sister." Willa quickly cried out.
Even though it sounded as if Willa was defending Gillian. In actual fact, Willa was subtly telling them that Gillian had attacked her because she was annoyed at the fact that Willa and Luke got engaged.
“Willa, that wench would continue to take a mile after an inch. How many times did she bully you in the past without you saying a word? Stop protecting her anymore!” Kathy seethed. How dare Gillian that w***e daughter hurt her daughter? She wished she could dismantle Gillian and tear her into pieces!
Roger Arison's eyes flashed with anger. He had owed the mother and daughter pair too much because of Willa's existence. Yet that b***h simply grew uncultured as days passed! If he didn't put her into her place today, she'd never learn to put others into the eyes!
Roger Arison grabbed Gillian's hair fiercely and gnashed his teeth in anger. "You vile beast, not only did you carry a disgusting torch for your brother-in-law, how dare you harm your sister? Gillian Arison, I tell you that you better follow my plan and not mess up the wedding with that retard, or else I'll see to it that your mother's hospital supply was cut off." He threatened in a cold voice.
Gillian felt as if her heart was submerged in cold water. It felt as if she was suffocated, making her unable to breathe. Somehow her whole body and heart hurt a lot!
So the family had it planned out already when she was still submerged in her illusion. That's why Willa came to parade in front of her and even played such scheming tricks. It was to make Gillian look bad regardless of what the Arison family did to her!
The Arison had long planned to make her a substitute for Willa, switching the truth for lies to make her look bad in front of everyone.
As if that wasn't enough, they even used her comatose mother to threaten her.
The thoughts made Gillian's heart ache extremely.
Roger Arison was pleased with himself upon seeing Gillian's pale face. His face scrunched up in disdain, and he coldly ordered. “Apologize to Willa."
Gillian's eyes glowed with a cold light. It's enough that she had been accused and schemed at but the last thing she'll do is apologize to the green tea b***h! How many grievances had she gone through because of Willa?
“I'm sorry, but Willa's fall had nothing to do with me, why should I apologize?” she rebuked sharply. Although her voice was still weak and soft due to the drug that was yet to wane, her arrogance was clear in her tone.
Luke's eyes spewed with fire, and he shot Gillian a glare. “Gillian, what did you just say?”
Gillian's lips curved with a disparaging smirk. She must have been blind all these while to follow and believe Luke's goading. Someone like Luke was clearly not worthy of her or her emotions!
Gillian raised her neck arrogantly, “I said the last thing I'll do is apologize to Willa. Willa falls on her own, what does it have to do with me? You both clearly cheated on me. It's hilarious how both of you are painting white as black! You two are shameless!”
“Gillian!” Luke's eyes spewed fire. This was the first time he had ever suffered such a humiliation. He had always been placed in a high position, when had he suffered such? He wished he could tear this wench apart!
A triumphant smile appeared on Willa's face, but it disappeared in the next minute; instead, her eyes turned moist, and she grabbed Luke's hand softly. Her figure swayed delicately.
“Luke, don't be annoyed at Gillian. Younger sister loves Luke too much. Ultimately, younger sister would resort to any methods to get Luke's attention. Dad, Mom, younger sister is just being bold, we're family, there's no need for younger sister to apologize to me.” she explained in an innocent frail tone.
Luke, Kathy, and Roger's expressions darkened immediately. Despite that Gillian was arrogant, Willa was still supporting Gillian. However, Gillian was still arrogant regardless. How can they bear to watch it? Today they promise to make Gillian, that vile beast, yield!
“Gillian Arison, do you think it's up to you to tell whether you'll apologize or not?” Roger Arison sneered, making Willa's heart burst with joy.
Gillian's face paled, and her eyes crinkled in disappointment. She understands that Roger Arison planned to resort to force. “Dad…”
Ring.
The sudden ringing of Gillian's phone interrupted Mr. Roger's words.
Gillian stretched her shaky hands to pick up her phone but upon seeing that the call was from the hospital her mom was admitted to, Gillian's thoughts began to spurn chaotically.
However, before Gillian could pick up, Kathy Arison snatched Gillian's phone, received the call, and placed it on the speaker.
"Hello, Miss Gillian. When are you paying the patient's bill? This month's bill hasn't been paid yet, and the patient hasn't received treatment since two days ago. I'm afraid that if it's delayed for another 24 hours, the patient's life will be at risk." The nurse's calm voice sounded.
