The nurse's response made Gillian so infuriated that she wanted to bang the table and throw things across the room. How can that man be so ruthless?
Even if Roger doesn't care anymore, at least he and her mother had once been so lovey-dovey. Can he even think about the love they once shared?
Valencia had never felt disgusted with a being before. She felt that the Arison people were indeed family. They all have vicious blood swirling in their systems, except for her.
Despite the fury pervading Gillian's system, recalling the presence of the sleeping Augustus, Gillian bit her lower lip and exhaled rapidly to regain her calm. “I understand." She replied and cut off the call.
Gillian stared into the distance for a few minutes, and tears pooled in her eyes. Why does everything seem to be in ruin at the same time? Did heaven hate her so much that it was not willing to give her any chance to breathe?
Suddenly, Gillian clenched her fists and exhaled. Regardless, she had to stay calm.
Gillian had to think for her mom's sake. One day. Gillian believed that her comatose mom would wake up one day. When that time came, Gillian swore to flaunt it to the Arison member's face.
Thinking like this, Gillian calms down. It seems that there's no use letting her mom stay in such a hospital anymore.
Roger could even prevent her mom from receiving a donation. What if Roger one day refused to let her mom receive treatment because he was annoyed at Gillian? Or what if the Arison family decided to hurt her mom one day?
After all, Gillian had gone through within the past few days, Gillian will never trust those vile families again.
Immediately, Gillian came to a decision. She will withdraw her mom from that hospital within three days to somewhere Roger won't know.
By then, she'll see what Roger Arison can do to threaten her. At least, her mom's hospital bills won't be an issue in the meantime.
Gillian snapped out of her thoughts, and she quickly picked up her phone to reply to the person on the other side.
'I'm sorry. I had an issue with the donation. Can you please send it to the account below? Thank you.'
Within a few minutes, Gillian's dry bank account immediately received an alert notification. A trace of relief clouded Gillian's face, and she lit up a smile.
She quickly typed a response, 'Seen. Thank you.'
'Business. You can reach out to us when you next have designs to sell.'
Gillian stared at the other side's response and scoffed in infuriation. It hurts her heart to sell out those designs. Is that person kidding with his words?
Gillian knew her jewelry designs were multiple times worth more than the price she sold them for.
The person must have thought Gillian was stupid and didn't know the worth of her design. But it's just that Gillian had no choice. If she had, she'd never sell them.
Gillian only wished that she wouldn't have any need to sell her treasures in the future.
Suddenly, Gillian's eyes fell on the wedding gown she threw into the trash can, and her eyes flashed with a glint, an idea sprouting in her mind.
This thing cost a lot of money; why would Gillian simply throw it away when she could just sell it for money? She was short of money, to begin with!
Gillian's lips curved up immediately, and she quickly picked up the wedding gown to take it to the laundry.
Once upon a time, Gillian was so eager to wear the gown and flaunt it to the world. Now she doesn't even want to see it!
After Gillian was done with laundry, she simply returned to the sofa, covered her weary self with a blanket, and laid to sleep.
-------------------
Willa's eyes turned red-rimmed, her frail body shook endlessly, and her lips quivered. She bit her lower lip and continuously blinked stubbornly as if to stop the tears that threatened to spill. "Mom, Dad, is younger sister still annoyed at Willa? Will younger sister refuse to agree to dad's request due to Willa?" Willa's face paled, and she twisted her fingers in fidgety, her shoulder trembling.
She cried out demurely, "It's Willa's fault. If Willa didn't provoke younger sister, if Willa had let go of Luke, younger sister wouldn't refuse Dad... Younger sister won't... Boohoo!" Willa immediately broke down into tears.
Her face was pale, her eyes were extremely red, and her shoulder and body were trembling pitifully. Her pitiful nature was so invoking that Roger and Arison wished they could tear Gillian, that vile vixen, into pieces!
A calm Luke, who had just entered the mansion, was immediately greeted with the sight of the frail Willa crying.
Indignant emotions immediately overclouded Luke's rationality, and his expression changed to fury. "Willa, why are you crying? Who bullied you? Tell me."
Even though fury was clouding Luke's whole system, Luke's voice was surprisingly calm and soft, which reveals how much Luke was trying not to scare Willa.
He wrapped his hands around Willa and quickly began to coax her.
Willa burrowed into Luke's embrace. She sniffed and hiccuped gently, her shoulders trembling. She quickly shook her head, waved her hands, and grabbed Luke's hand. "No. No. No one bullied me. It's just that younger sister..." Willa paused meaningfully and hiccuped.
Luke's expression changed immediately; his eyes turned fierce and his fist clenched in fury. Even though Willa didn't want to say a word, Luke could point out that Gillian had bullied Willa in his absence.
Roger slammed the table hard, his veins throbbing. "That Gillian Vixen, she won't shed a tear until she sees a coffin! How dare that vile vixen bully Willa in my presence? I must have gone lenient on her these days." He bellowed in an outburst.
Kathy began to massage Roger's shoulder and chimed in. Her face was filled with righteousness. "Hubby, that Gillian slut had simply gone too far. She had just stepped into the Albrecht mansion, but she was already brazen. In the future, would she even put us, her families, in her eyes?" She cried out in grievance, her face dark and gloomy and her eyes swirling with hatred.
How dare that illegitimate slut call her Willa disgusting? The recollection made Kathy so infuriated that she really wanted to tear that slut apart.
Willa hiccuped pitifully and raised her head in panic. She hurriedly waved her hand and shook her head. She bit her lower lip anxiously, tears pooling in her eyes, making her whole person fragile and pitiful and making everyone's heart hurt more.
She cried out demurely amidst hiccups. "Dad. Mom. Younger sister Gillian is just being annoyed. Willa believes younger sister doesn't mean what..."
Luke's dark expression turned darker upon hearing Willa try to support Gillian, even though Gillian had repeatedly bullied Willa. He felt Gillian had gone too far. His hatred for Gillian increases in multiples immediately.
Luke raised his hand towards Willa's pale face and swollen eyes, and he gently wiped the tears from her face with his hand.
Luke's heart seemed to have been clenched, making it exceptionally painful. Isn't it refusing to marry Gillian? How dare she hurt Willa? His hatred for Gillian deepened immediately.
"It's okay, Willa." Luke gently chided. "Stop taking that disgusting person's side. She doesn't deserve it. Later, I'll call Gillian and warn her vehemently. She should stop dreaming. There's no way I'll be interested in such a vixen like her." Luke coldly conveyed.
Willa's eyes turned red-rimmed, and she grabbed his hand tightly. She hurriedly shook her head and cried out docilely. "Luke, you really don't have to do it for Willa. Younger sister really doesn't mean... Younger sister's heart will be broken more, and younger sister will..." Willa suddenly paused meaningfully. She tilted her head in puzzlement and stared at Luke in curiosity. "Luke, why are you here this evening? It's late; you must have been tired. You shouldn't..."
Upon hearing Willa's concern for him, Luke's original gloomy expression improved. He flashed her a gentle smile and took out new car keys from his breast pocket.
Upon recalling how Luke had to spend most of his savings just to buy that car, Luke's heart seemed to have been pinched tightly, making it exceptionally uncomfortable.
However, upon thinking about how Willa would be happy with the gift, the pain dissipated.
Thinking about how Gillian was behind his current condition, Luke clenched his fist and made up his mind to deal with Willa later.
Luke caressed her hair and remorsefully spouted out a lie: "Your ALT car is here. I'm sorry; the surprise was ruined. The company was sorry for the lateness..."
Willa trembled, and her lips parted in shock as if she couldn't believe that Luke would get her the car. Her eyes fell on the keys in shock. "Luke, you really?"
Immediately, Willa burrowed into Luke's embrace and hugged him coyly. She expressed in a soft, docile, and coquettish tone. "I knew Luke cared about Willa the most. But. Luke really shouldn't..."
Luke's calm mood immediately turned exceptionally good upon hearing Willa's words, and all the bad mood he felt dissipated.
He stood up and held Willa's hand. "Aunty, Uncle, we'll be back." He turned to Willa and held her hands gently. "Let's check it out, okay?"
Willa immediately nodded and followed after Luke with a sweet smile plastered on her face.
Although Willa kept smiling sweetly, she knew that Luke didn't buy a car to surprise her.
However, after Luke's lies had been exposed, if Luke wanted to clear his image in the media, he had to buy Willa a car.
Upon seeing the new and 'crude' white car in the parking lot, Willa's good mood plunged into the abyss.
Immediately, Willa recalled Gillian's white car and how outstanding it was. The car was even custom-made for Gillian, which means that only Gillian will have that type in the whole world.
Comparing Willa's car to Gillian's custom-made car was like comparing trash to heaven.
The thought of it made Willa overwhelmed with indignation, and she swore to make Gillian pay.
Willa quickly snapped out of it and dug her fingers into her palm to restrain her chaotic emotions.
Despite that Willa was indignant, none of it was revealed on her face.
Willa smiled beautifully and hugged Luke tightly. "Luke. I'm really happy. Thank you."
