Gillian’s fists clenched, and her body trembled, sad tears pooling in her eyes.
Gillian had lost everything yet sacrificed what she had left just to get her mother's bills paid, yet it turns out that her dad will fail to pay her mother's bills as he promised.
Even if Gillian was an illegitimate child, Roger gave birth to her, and she was his child as well. Does he have to be so cruel, does he?
Willa doesn't have to say a word before her wish will be fulfilled by the entire family.
However, for Gillian, no matter what she does, it isn't enough, or she is simply a feigning vixen.
Gillian sniffed and wiped the sad tears spilling past her cheeks.
She clenched her shaky fists to calm down and dialed Roger Arison’s number.
It was after the fifth ring that the call was picked up by the indignant Roger Arison.
“I have obediently apologized to Willa, and I have married Augustus Albrecht in place of Willa. Why is my mother's hospital bill yet to be paid?” Gillian’s face reddened, and her body trembled in fury. Her voice was slightly loud due to rage.
Roger Arison slapped the table hard, causing it to make a loud bang! Willa jumped in fear. Kathy's heart ached, and she began to comfort Willa.
“Impetuous! How dare you talk to your father like that, Gillian?” Roger bellowed, his chest heaving and falling due to anger. “Are you putting on airs because you've gotten married to that retard of the Albrecht family? I made him marry you, and I can see to it that he divorced you,” he seethed heartlessly.
Upon hearing his words, Gillian’s fist clenched, and she bit her lower lip. Her reddened eyes turned more red, and her body shook. Was she even a person with a feeling for the Arison family, was she? What do they take her as? What do they?
Despite the sad, chaotic thoughts running through her mind, Gillian inhaled a deep breath and bit her lower lip to regain her calm.
Gillian is the one who needs help, so she can’t put on airs, or else that will be the basis for why they rejected her demand.
”When will Mom's hospital bill be paid? Every second without mom receiving treatment is endangering mom’s life.” At the end of Gillian’s statement, her voice began to shake due to the sob that threatened to spill past her lips.
Roger Arison sneered coldly. ”Since the Albrecht family could order a custom-made ALT car, they should be able to pay that vegetative person bill,” he coldly responded.
“Dad. That's not our initial agreement!” Gillian exclaimed. Her eyes flew wide open and her hand trembled; more tears pooled in her eyes, and she had to blink repeatedly to clear her blurry vision.
Roger Arison snorted in contempt. “I've been paying that vegetation bills with the company money for years, yet she never stirred. I'm tired of paying for a person whose outcome isn't known…”
Gillian gnashed her teeth together, hatred and sadness swirling in her. She couldn't believe that Roger would simply back away when it came to the time of p*****t. She had never come across such a shameless person as Roger before. Does he even have shame?
Moreover, every p*****t Roger Arison had always made was always backed up with an order for Gillian; how could he make it seem as if he was doing it for free?
Despite the thought running through Gillian's mind, she bit her lower lip and interjected, “Every p*****t accompanies an order. Dad, you never paid freely.”
Roger Arison sneered and leaned forward. “It's my money, and I have all the command on how to spend it. If you want me to pay, I would, but on one condition.” As soon as he completed his words, a devious glint flickered past his eyes.
Gillian’s fist clenched tight, and her eyes lowered. Despite the urge to lash out at Roger Arison for being shameless, she restrained it and calmly responded, “What condition?”
Roger leaned back on the chair authoritatively. “Since the Albrecht family could order a custom-made car, that means they care about you. How about this daughter?” Roger softened his tone and called Gillian ‘daughter’ as if he truly cared about Gillian. “Help dad's company get some documents from that retard. By the time you return home a few years later, the Arison company will have become outstanding, and Dad will take good care of you for your hard work,” he shamelessly conveyed in a righteous manner, as if his order were truly as simple as he let out.
How could he? How could he order her to do something so disgusting like that? Is she even his daughter?
Gillian’s face paled, and her body trembled upon hearing his words. Shameless. Roger Arison is really shameless. How dare he speak in such a casual way? Asking her to help when, in fact, the implicit meaning of his words was for her to steal.
Didn't he know how dangerous his order was? What if she was caught? Doesn't that mean her whole life has ended?
He ended his words with, ‘he’ll take care of her’. Does he think she's such a stupid pushover who will believe his words?
Tears slipped past her left eye. They were really out to ruin her, wasn't it?
“Hilarious!”
“That's my condition.” Roger leaned back on the chair and shamelessly finalized as if he wasn't aware of how dangerous his order was.
Willa leaned forward with red-rimmed eyes, her body shaking. She blinked her eyelashes, demurely tugging on one’s heartstrings, and she docilely conveyed, “Younger sister, Dad truly cares about the company and the family…”
“If you truly care about the family who have pampered you your whole life, why did you steal your younger sister's boyfriend a day before your wedding and ditch marrying Augustus? Why don't you wish for heaven to allow your mom to be in a coma and let you have a dad and family that don't care about you except to make a profit out of you? Willa, you're really disgusting for making dark seem white!” Gillian roared angrily.
As soon as she did, Gillian cut off the call fiercely and placed the phone on the table, her chest heaving and her eyes exceptionally red.
Gillian lowered her head and covered her palms with her face. Within the blink of an eye, her shoulder began to tremble, and she began to sniff silently.
In the next minute, Gillian snapped out of her sadness and raised her hand to wipe away her tears.
She picked up her phone and attempted to log in to her social media account. A review message immediately filled her eyes as soon as she logged in.
A bitter smile lit up on her face, and she understood what it meant. It seems destiny really hated her a lot, isn't it?
Gillian bit her lower lip to suppress her thoughts and the pain that engulfed her whole being.
She simply attempted to create another account with a fake name. Since Roger has no shame, she’ll simply face-slap him and his family soon.
As soon as Gillian opened the social media account successfully, she searched for IV design and sent a friend request to the company account.
Seeing that the account had yet to accept her friend request despite being online, Gillian simply texted a message to back up her friend request.
‘Hi, I’m Gilly. I agreed to sell the designs to you.’
The minute she sent the text message, her heart began to thrum against her chest, knowing that the design company was her last hope.
If IV Design Company simply refused to accept Gillian because of the surfacing scandal about her, then there's no way Gillian will be able to pay her mother's bill.
Ever since Gillian was young, she had watched her mom draw and create beautiful jewelry. Perhaps her mother's talent had rubbed on her because, as Gillian grew up, her love for jewelry design had also grown.
Occasionally, Gillian will post a part of her jewelry designs on her social media page, unaware that she’ll catch the attention of the designer of IV Design Company, a fast-rising jewelry company.
The company had reached out to Gillian with an amount to sell out some of her designs and the total rights to her designs.
Although what Gillian needed the most was money, she turned down the company's offer.
After all, the naive Gillian had truly believed that once she got married to Luke Arnouklt, Luke would launch a jewelry company for her, as he promised.
Unfortunately…
‘Can I see the designs?’
A sense of relief overwhelmed Gillian, but upon realizing what she was about to do, her body shook and her heart panged with sadness.
Gillian gritted her teeth and seriously began to go through her designs, searching for the one she liked on the list even though she had none because each of the designs contained a precious memory she wanted to flaunt.
With a pale face, Gillian sent four trademark designs.
For a few minutes, the other side was silent, making her fist clench. Her heart was caught in her throat. What if they don't like it anymore?
‘Beautiful. I'll pay XXXX.’
Gillian exhaled in relief; at least the amount was enough to pay three months of her mom’s hospital bills.
Although Gillian was the one getting the shorter end of the stick, she knew she had no choice for the moment. As long as her mom is healthy again, then what does all the loss matter?
‘Can you increase it?’
‘No.’
Gillian bit her lower lip and silently typed again. ‘Would you like to see four more?’
‘Sure.’
Gillian exhaled in relief and sent four pictures again. Luckily, the company was willing to purchase the designs too.
The company sent an online contract to Gillian, and after reading it and making sure there were no errors, Gillian signed the contract.
‘Where do I pay?’
Gillian bit her lower lip. She knew that once she sent the money from her account, the Arison family would believe that she got the money from the Albrecht so she simply decided to take it another way.
‘I need you to send it to a hospital account as a donation; can it be done?’
‘Yes.’
‘In a jiffy.’
Gillian hurriedly tapped her home app before tapping on the phone app. She hurriedly dialed the number of the nurse, and in the first ring, the call was picked up.
“Hello, can I get the accounts to pay mom's bill? Mom received a donation from a close relative.”
“I'm sorry, but not available,” the nurse simply responded.
Gillian's brows furrowed, and her face contorted in a frown. “What do you mean, not available?”
“Mr. Roger instructed the hospital not to receive any donation or p*****t from others on behalf of the patient, or else he will sue the hospital.”
“What?” Gilian’s lips parted in horror. She couldn't believe that he would go that far to prevent her from getting help for her mother. “But she's my mother.”
“I'm sorry, Miss Gillian, but you're not exempted. You can talk to Mr. Arison about it.”
