CHAPTER 1
The smell of blood and death filled the air. The numerous howls echoing through the whole place sounded like beating drums announcing the execution of criminals.
Shouts and screams blended in creating havoc and chaos all around. Smoke rose in the night sky like an evil phantom about to swallow the moon and the stars.
Inside the main mansion, a young man was watching this whole scene from the balcony with calm and cold eyes. He's standing in the dark, sweeping his eyes across all the c*****e below him.
He looked otherworldly like an angel watching mortals kill each other while he remained detached and pure.
Unfortunately, he was not immortal. And he was fated to die tonight.
He closed his eyes and sighed. He took one last look at the nightmare playing outside, turned around, and walked towards the grand piano in the room.
The beta enforcers protecting him also shifted with his every movement but otherwise remained silent and invisible.
He knew that this night would be her last. He didn’t know whether his father and mother were still alive. Perhaps they were killed already. Because from what he can deduce from what he saw outside, their enemies were planning on annihilating all of them once and for all.
With his heightened senses, he heard the enemies finally invading the mansion, their heavy breathing rang louder as they drew nearer.
His enforcers tensed and stepped closer towards him. Their murderous eyes locked at the door.
But he doesn't care. He just walked calmly as if everything was still normal. Then he gently sat in front of his piano. It would be his end soon. The least he could do was play his favorite music to accompany the souls of his kin that was murdered tonight as they left this world. Taking a deep breath, his fingers danced on the keyboard. Music came to life, and he finally felt at peace..
The door to the room crashed open. The enforcers immediately shifted to their wolves leap towards the enemies and fought hard, intending to protect their omega..
The smell of blood and sweat grew stronger, but the beautiful young man still played the piano as if nothing was happening around him. Even when sharp claws pierced his left shoulder and right hip, he still continued playing without missing a beat.
The music complemented the sounds of c*****e to the point that everyone listening felt goosebumps all over their skin. The contrast between the music and the violence almost felt mystical.
The enforcers fought to protect the young omega without any regard to their own lives. They were trained to be emotionless fighters from a young age. They killed a few, but the enemies grossly outnumbered them.
Finally, the last of the enforcers died.
"Omega, surrender now!" One of the werewolf transformed back as a human and hollered.
But the beautiful omega just ignored him. He even closed his eyes and started swaying with the music as slhe continued to play the piano.
But all of a sudden the air grew tense. All the werewolves shift in their human form and immediately lower their stance. And from the intense silence a pair of footsteps echoed. Someone is coming.
The Omega playing the piano felt the familiar alpha's presence and smelled his scent but he still didn't stop.
"Ronan.." a soft voice called.
And as if the beautiful Omega was awoken from his beautiful dream he opened his blue eyes, which is now dyed red.
No one knew what he was capable of. The werewolves only knew that he's the most sought after Omega because of how powerful his father was. So they were shocked from what happened next.
The beautiful Omega, suddenly leap through the air as if he's flying and immediately pierced his half shifted right hand to the new comer alpha but the Alpha knew him too well. He caught his paws but it didn't stop the omega's nonstop onslaught. They fought. And fought until finally the Alpha's fangs pierce the Omega's fair neck. He stumbled and swayed. His pristine white shirt and loose pants was now dyed dark red, as blood continuously flowed from his wound.
Everyone in the room was suddenly mesmerized by his otherworldly beauty and elegance.
What a pity, though.
The omega smiled softly and looked at the dark eyes of the Alpha as the latter looked at him with indifference.
His body slumped over the piano, banging against the keyboard and producing a discordant tune. His blue eyes swiftly drained of life, yet they were still beautiful.
He slid to the floor and fell hard.
"At last, I’m free." His voice was a soft whisper but his eyes still didn't look away from the Alpha's as if he was telling him not to mourn his death. The Alpha's eyes shook. He knew he shouldn't let his feelings swayed his plans. But right now in front of the dying omega who was once his mate, he couldn't help but felt the anguish as it drown him mad.
The Omega looked at him, and felt pity. This betrayal might have been inevitable but he still hoped that the Alpha atleast felt something for him... That atleast he felt a little bit affection for him...
Sighing with regret he finally closed his eyes and accepted that in this lifetime they were really not meant to be....
