After the first battle with the demon inside me, my body felt so tired and weak. With my elbow bracing on the table, I rest my head on my fist and drowse off.
A bit after, I was bemused as Wavina stormed in from the door. Her expression was somewhat ferocious.
"So it was you?" She sneered directly.
My brows clashed as I raised my head, "What me?"
"Don't play dumb on me!" She yelled. "I already found out that it was you who almost killed me long ago. Am I right?"
"Who did you learn that from?" I asked as I rose up from the chair and approached her.
Without a word, she brought out a knife and drew it on me. "Murphy I hate you! I hate you! I will kill you!" Wavina ranted furiously as she charged on me, trying to stab the Coral Knife straight in my heart.
"Nana, I love you. Believe me, I didn't mean to harm you before." I said in a begging way as I dodged from her every stabbing attempt.
Until I caught her hands and encaged her inside her interlocking arms as I engulfed her from behind.
"Nana, You know I love you. And I also know you love me too. Please, for the sake of our love and the short but happy memories we shared, forgive me, Okay?" I pleaded into her ear.
She lifted up her head and looked back at me intently. Gradually, her deadly stares switched into affectionate ones.
Later, she slowly stretched her neck and reached my lips with hers.
She kissed me!
At first, the movements of her lips were slow and gentle. Enticing enough to turn me on, so I kissed her back, causing the soft kisses earlier became vehement.
I was happy, assuming that she had already forgiven me.
Due to the burning desire of getting her body, I loosened the grip of my hands on her arms and spinned ourselves towards the wall. I pressed her on the wall with our inseparable kiss and my palms propping on it.
She was oddly wild and unexpectedly, flipped me down against the wall. Then she stopped and pulled off her lips. Gazed at me as she grinned teasingly.
Off guarded, her whole lovingly face expression suddenly turned murderous as she raised her hand and mercilessly stabbed me in my heart.
As I met her eyes after I looked down on my chest, she even pricked the knife deeper and unrepentantly stated, "I will never love a monster beast."
"I am not a monster!!!" I shouted.
Suddenly, I recoiled out from my sleep as a constant shook along with a tug on my shoulder woke me up from the bad dream.
I was chasing my breath badly as my eyes opened.
"Mr. Aderson, you-"
Wavina was halted as I just hurriedly and uninvitedly hopped on her across the table and locked her tightly inside my arms.
"Wavina, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! Forgive me alright? I didn't do that on purpose." I uttered successively between my irregular breathing.
"Mr. Aderson, it's okay. You were just having a bad dream." Her warm comforting voice said while rubbing her palm on my back.
As I still didn't unleash her from my embrace, she spoke again in a polite tone. "Mr. Aderson, I can't breathe anymore. You are going to crush me."
I became deaf. Whatever she said didn't work for me to let go of her. I still wanted to confine her in my arms more. Though surprised with my own action, I ignored it because I was liking the feeling of being too close to Wavina's warm body.
But that yearning was ruined as someone feigned a cough as he cleared his throat. Being familiar with his dragon scent, I knew it was Dusk.
I let go of Wavina as Dusk sauntered over from the door, putting his arms inside his pant's pockets.
Wavina's face reddened as she saw Dusk, and immediately attempted to defend ourselves in a shy manner. "Mr. Holli, don't misunderstand. Just now--"
Dusk brought out his hand and raised it on air, "Don't bother to explain on me Ms. Javier. Whatever the meaning of the actions between the two of you, it doesn't matter. Since it has nothing to do with me. Moreover, you two were already both adults." Dusk said in a friendly tone.
"But--"
"Wavina, please leave us for a while." I intruded, motioning my head to her to leave.
She didn't say anything. She just only gave me an ashamed nod before she stepped out from my office.
"Murphy, are you in love?" Dusk frankly asked. I couldn't tell from his voice if it was a question of gladness or concern.
"What are you saying?" I replied, looking outside the window. "We just knew each other for not long. How could I just fall in love?"
"Then why can't you look at me? You may not be aware of it, but you changed. You were not that sociable to anyone before except to me and to your family. Not only that, you tolerated a lot of first time when it involved her. And there's one more, you even eat hot food though you knew it was bad for our dragon's stomach. Isn't that because it was her who prepared it?" Dusk said non-stop.
"Dusk, You are thinking too much." I sat back on my chair and closed my eyes, propping my elbow again on the table as I massaged my head. I was still feeling delirious.
"It should be impossible for me to fall in love with her." I added as I opened my eyes to look on him.
"What do you mean it should be impossible?" He asked with confusion as he slammed down himself on the opposite couch.
"I was doubting, she was the girl I hurt 12 years ago."
"What???" Dusk stood up in surprise. Then he walked over, "What basis do you have to doubt that?"
"Because her nickname and the name of the little girl that I heard before was the same."
"Nana?"
"Yes." I nodded.
I found out Wavina's nickname last time at her house when she was confronting her so-called best friend. Actually, I was bothered with my dream just now but I kept it to myself.
"Impossible! It might only be a pure coincidence." Dusk said as he was walking back and forth.
Dusk suddenly braced his hands on my table as he said, "Murphy, you can't keep delaying your matter long anymore. What if she really is that girl? If she finds out you hurt her before, she probably won't help you with your business. So as soon as possible, we have to take action."
"I had to confirm it first if she was really that little girl. Hope she was not. Because if she is, how do you think I am going to ask her for help to save myself?"
"You are not only saving yourself Murphy but being responsible. Also, How are you going to do that? Ask her directly?" Dusk was restless.
"I don't know."
"Murphy, gold flower's descendants were entrusted to our clan since our predecessors' generations. It was our law of nature. If you can't get rid of that demon in you, it was not only her you are going to hurt in the future. The whole world."
"I needed enough time, Dusk. I can't just casually tell her to get me the thing I need. This issue was not a joke."
Dusk calmed down and looked at me seriously. "Murphy, if that demon is still in you, you can't love freely. You knew that."
Dusk was right. I couldn't love at will if I could not free myself from the demon inside me. Because emotions brought by love were the demon's consciousness awakening thing and supplements of his strength. That was why he was called the Love Consuming Demon.
And As long as he was in me, anytime I would possibly go berserk and harm people.
"I will be more careful next time. You don't have to worry. Besides, I was aware that it is a very crucial problem I need to solve. So I will surely find a right time to ask Wavina for help." I assured him as I tapped him at his shoulder.
"Mr. Aderson, someone named Guru was here to see you." Wavina interjected as she peeked from the door after the three consecutive knocks.
"Tell him to come in!" I replied.
