Kara's POV:
After my words of confession, he was shocked enough that he took his hand away from the door without realizing it. I quickly grabbed the door and opened it, exiting as fast as I could before he could stop me. I walked quickly down the hallway, heading to Atticus' suite since now there are those who will stop me from ending this life in the house. I was so close this time too. Why couldn't he have stayed away just a few seconds longer? That's all I would have needed was a few more seconds.
"Kara!" I heard Jovian's voice as he quickly caught up with me.
I looked up at him and saw the concern on his face so I gave him a smile in hopes that it would help cheer him up.
