-ROBIN-
The next day, when I climbed into my mother's Audi, a loud yawn fled my mouth.
"My, my. Son, what are those ugly dark circles?" Helena emitted a tsk sound and turned on the automobile ignition.
My butt pressed comfortably into my seat as I sighed deeply, dizzy and weak. "I had some random thoughts that kept me awake all night, Mom."
Yeah, that's a lie.
The only reason I didn't sleep was because of the icy jerk Epsilon known as Czech Romanov.
How dare that bastard show up out of nowhere, utterly naked, and then dismiss me as if I were a disgusting bug.
The image of him and his piercing eyes staring at me as he stood across the river like he was a freaking exhibitionist flashed in my mind. Well, seeing male wolves without clothes after transforming into human forms isn't a big deal, but still, seeing Czech in his nude glory made me restless, and it wasn't just because it was grating on my nerves. It was because of how he explicitly instructed me to go.
I released a deep sigh.
"Go back, Spark!" I recalled the jerk grumbling those words, and there was no need to hear them twice because I had already rushed back to the woods and returned to our house.
Damn it. He recognized me. It would be embarrassing for me as a future alpha to run into him today. While resting my head on the window, another exhalation fled my mouth. 'Maybe he thinks he scared me away, rather than the fact that it was his stuff that drove me back home.' My face flushed rosy at the thought. To be honest, he is rather huge.
My mother gave me a perplexed look as I suddenly chuckled. Fortunately, she did not ask any questions because I was not in the mood to talk about Czech's remarkable possessions with my mother first thing in the morning.
Almost all the female students looked at me as I walked into the school.
I was wearing ripped white jeans and spiky boots. A sleeveless white shirt was worn beneath a 'Don't Mess With Me' black button-down shirt. I have three earrings in my left ear and a tiny nose piercing. I had a bracelet on my wrist and a modest necklace around my neck.
Fashion is one of my favorite things, thus the style made me feel fantastic.
My fingers voluntarily ran through my locks as I stepped into the locker room to get my books. A small smile cracked on my lips, and I was about to round the corner when something captured my attention. In the corridor, there was a petite female with lovely blond hair, and two male students were apparent to be toying with her.
The corner of my mouth rose as I came to a standstill.
I diligently reminded myself not to become involved in other people's issues, but I could tell those two idiots were not going to leave the girl alone anytime soon. Based on the scent they were emitting, I deduced that the taller one was potentially an Alpha. A hum burst out of my mouth. ‘How dare those airheads use their authority to make fun of the weak!' Before I could stop myself, my legs moved in their own right as I approached them.
One of the dumb mutts with the terrible haircut extended his hand and was about to back-slap the terrified girl when I grabbed his arm and pushed him against the wall.
"What the hell is your problem? Are you seriously beating a woman?" I yelled, unsettling the foolish thug. I could hear gasps of surprise in the background, but I was too upset to take notice.
'I will not let someone abuse a girl in front of me!'
"Who the f**k are you?" The mongrel growled as he came to terms with the shock. His narrowed eyes told me how unhappy he was that I had intruded on their daily affairs.
While casting him a disgusted look, I hissed, "Giving my precious name to a bastard like you will only be a waste of time," before dismissing him and turning to his victim. "Are you all right?"
The girl's body tensed, and her face turned pale as I spoke to her, showing that she was still apprehensive. But she ultimately responded to my question in a low, shaky voice. "I... I guess so."
I heaved a breath of relief. That was what I wanted to hear, so I shifted my focus back to her bullies, but I was taken aback when a rough hand clutched the neckline of my shirt.
"Stay out of this, pretty boy!" the guy I pushed against the wall exclaimed. I figured he was the leader of the two. His right fist soared in the air, ready to strike me, but we were both astonished when someone interfered.
"Gavino, it's pleasant to see you early in the morning, pup?"
When Gavino heard that blood-freezing cold voice behind him, he murmured a profanity under his breath before letting me go.
"Czech, we're just having a little fun here, man!" He stated, turning to face my savior and throwing his arm over my neck as if I were one of his closest acquaintances.
A disparaging snort erupted from my lips, and my elbow struck him in the gut, causing him to clutch his stomach and fall to the floor. "Hands off, moron!" I rasped and picked up my backpack, which had dropped earlier. The tormented student was already gone, so I finally left them.
I don't want to waste any of my energy or time on Gavino's immaturity when I still have classes to attend.
Still enraged, I walked past Greco and Aphro, who flashed an amused grin, and Czech, who simply spared me a fleeting but nerve-racking glance that made me quiver internally. I thought I detected irritation in his eyes for a moment, but it immediately vanished, so I just shook my head and sauntered away as if nothing had transpired.
I expected Gavino to stop me, but Czech's presence may have been enough to hold them at bay. It made me giggle inwardly because I could not blame the mutt.
Although Czech Romanov was only a pack warrior, his Alpha blood made him extremely imposing. One thing, though, perplexed me.
'Why does that ice beast seem to be displeased with me? What did I do to irritate him in the first place?
