CH.24

Trinity's pov

I am running around our room trying to finish getting ready to go and Wyatt is standing there laughing at me telling me to calm down, I stopped and said how can I calm down when my best friend is getting engaged today and we get to be there for it? he said,

"baby if you don't finish we are not going to make it in time." as soon as I finished getting ready we headed out the door and got on the road.

Hardin gave Jakob Wyatt's number in case we can't find the place. we were about 30 minutes out when Jakob called and asked how far away we were we told him 30 minutes and he said he and Anna had just gotten there and would be waiting for us. I asked Wyatt if Hardin showed him the ring and he said,

"yes baby I saw it and I know Aspen is going to love it," I told him it wasn't fair that he got to see it but I didn't and he said "baby Hardin didn't pick the ring out his sister did and she picked out the one that says, Aspen. trust me, baby, I've known Aspen her whole life and this ring was made for her," I said fine I trust you and sat back.

we pulled into this beautiful resort that overlooked the lake, it had 3 cabin-like buildings and a beautiful gazebo with fairy lights hanging and candles lining the walkway. Jakob and Annalynn were standing by their car when we parked we asked what we needed to do.

Jakob said, "me and Wyatt have some things to take care of."

Annalynn said, "follow me", we walked out to the gazebo and she started setting up a camera.

I asked what she needed me to do and she told me to get the flowers and place them around the gazebo. I asked her where the guy went as I was placing flowers and she explained Hardin wanted rose petals and 6 dozen long-stemmed roses scattered around the room, he wanted strawberries and a bottle of champagne placed next to the bed, he wanted candles in the bathroom around the tub so the guys were taking care of that then they had to get the food and once they got back we had to get ready. I finished placing the flowers down and walked up to Annalynn and said how do you feel about your big brother getting engaged? she smiled and said,

"Luna Trinity I love Aspen and I am so happy that Hardin has her, Aspen and I have bonded since she has been at green moon and I considered her my sister from the moment she got out of her car the day we met her." I smiled and said I'm glad to know Hardin's family loves my best friend and sister as much as we do.

Annalynn and I sat and talked until the guys got back and we headed to our rooms to get ready.

Hardin's pov

I'm standing in the shower and can't remember how to bathe. my mind is all over the place, my nerves are shot and I'm scared to death. I know Aspen loves me but she could still say no to marrying me. I broke down and started crying at the thought of her saying no, I haven't cried in years but this was getting to me and I couldn't hold the tears back. I leaned back against the wall and balled. there was a knock at the door and I stopped crying, aspen asked if I was ok and I told her yes. she said,

"baby it sounded like you were crying are you sure you are ok?" I said I am fine my love I was humming that's all.

she said ok and asked what we were doing today, I told her that she and I were going off tonight. she asked where we were going and I told her dinner and just a night away from all the craziness. she said, "that sounds good." I told her once I got out she needed to shower and get dressed and we needed to pack an overnight bag.

she said she would go pack now and once I got dressed she would shower and get dressed. after I got out and got dressed, Aspen got in the shower, I mind-linked my mom to bring up the dress I had her go get for Aspen to wear tonight. she opened the door and handed it to me she smiled and said, "son I am so proud of you, I love Aspen and I can't wait until she is officially part of our family." I told her thank you and said mom I'm scared she said, "son taking this step is scary but you and Aspen are meant for each other." I smiled at my mom then she asked to see the ring.

I pulled the box out of my pocket and showed it to her. she started to cry and said "baby boy she is going to love it. that ring was made to be given to your future wife." I smiled then heard the water cut off my mom hugged me and headed back downstairs.

I placed the dress on our bed and waited for Aspen to come into the room. when she walked in she stopped and said "where did that dress come from?" I smiled and said special delivery.

I told her I had the dress picked up for her for tonight, smiled, and said "thank you, baby, it's beautiful." I told her I would be in the living room waiting on her to finish getting ready she kissed my cheek and said "I can't wait for our date sexy." I smiled and said me either my love and walked into the living room.

I called Jakob to check on things and he said, "bro relax everything is done we are getting ready now." I asked where Annalynn was and he said "she is in the shower and as soon as she gets out I'm getting in," I said you better not be in the room with her as she gets dressed Jakob. he said "bro I'm standing outside our room I told her to come get me when she was done getting dressed so I could get in the shower. I am respecting you and your sister bro I promise." I told him I was waiting on Aspen to finish getting ready and then we would be heading out, he said "ok bro ill see you soon" and hung up.

I took a deep breath and pulled out the ring box I looked at it and smiled. I heard the bedroom door open and I put the ring back in my pocket when I looked up I swear to the moon goddess my heart stopped. Aspen looked so beautiful she barely had any make-up on and her hair was down and straightened.

she twirled and said, "how do I look?" I managed to get the words breath-taking out and she blushed.

we headed out to the car and got on the road, 45 minutes later we pulled into the resort parking area and Aspen's eyes got big and she said "oh my goddess baby this place is beautiful," I smiled and said not as beautiful as you. she blushed.

I parked the car and got out I went around to her door and opened it and held out my hand. she held my hand and I walked her to the gazebo and had her sit at the table with her back to the resort. that way she couldn't see anyone coming out, I texted Jakob and Wyatt and told them to go ahead and bring the food out and have the girls come sit at the table. I walked up behind Aspen and covered her eyes and told her the food was a surprise. once the table was set up and the food was plated I uncovered her eyes and when she saw everyone she asked what was going on. I told her it was a dinner date with all our faves.

she smiled and said, "thank you, baby, I needed this," I told her she didn't need to thank me that we both needed tonight.

Wyatt walked up behind her and hugged her then patted her head and called her squirt she glared at him and said, "will you ever give up that nickname for me?" he said "nope" and she stuck her tongue out at him.

we sat there eating, and telling stories about each other, once dinner was done I asked Jakob to go get the dessert and told Aspen it was a surprise and she had to close her eyes. Jakob came back with the bowls and the container he sat the bowls down and opened the container, I had Jakob and Wyatt spell out WILL YOU MARRY ME MY LOVE? in cut-up strawberries I asked the kitchen to send with the strawberry fluff cake. Annalynn moved the camera to get a better view of Aspen's reaction and I got down on one knee in front of her. I was shaking and felt like I was going to throw up, I took a deep breath and counted to 3 and when she opened her eyes she gasped and started to cry. I said Aspen from the moment I saw you I knew there was no one else in the world for me, my love for you is beyond the mate bond. if there was no such thing I truly believe I would have been led to you no matter what. you are everything I ever imagined my mate to be and more. I can't imagine my life without you Aspen, I love you with all my heart. Aspen Raelyn Wright, will you make me the happiest man alive and become my wife? she nodded and then said,

"YES!" I grabbed her hand and slid the ring on her finger and she grabbed me and kissed me.

Trini and Anna were crying and Wyatt and Jakob were hugging us. when all the excitement calmed down I whispered to Aspen to look at the inside of her ring, she took it off and looked at the words "my Luna, my Life, my Love" she smiled and said, "I love you with all my heart Hardin and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
